  1. Actually that's in-house attendance, not percentage sold. All four Bills home games so far have been sellouts. That will obviously change after this week.
  2. The fans of all teams look for scapegoats. Even the fans of good teams. Nothing new here.
  3. The draft classes in question are 2010 and 2011.
  4. From what I read, Al's passing put into motion the potential for a mad scramble to see which team moves to LA first. Apparently Al's son was more inclined to listen to the LA people than Al was, which could prompt the Chargers to move there first and stake out their territory. Would the league allow 2 teams from the same division, Chargers and Raiders, to play in L.A.? Stay tuned...
  5. Another ridiculous pronouncement by our resident "expert" on all things Western New York.
  6. Maybe the Jets will pick him up and Rex will make him captain this week.
  7. So the city of Toronto will build a stadium in Hamilton?
  8. I guarantee that Toronto will not build a stadium in Hamilton.
  9. Err. A stadium is gonna take up a huge chunk of that land, including parking. Why bother with the stadium?
  10. Except nobody goes to a football game to look at the scenery. A lakefront stadium, domed or not, would be a colossal misuse of land better suited for recreational activities. Build something there that can be used more than 8-10 times a year.
  11. The days of stadium concerts are over. Performers prefer venues of 20K or less. Even in its heyday the Ralph/Rich didn't host that many concerts- the last one there was in 2001. To all those saying you need a dome, exactly what other uses are you going to get out of it? Concerts, monster trucks, wrestling? Any of these held at a dome would just take away from business for First Niagara Center. Super Bowl? An extreme long shot. Conventions? Maybe, but once again it would take away business from an existing venue. Although I've read that the convention center is undersized, would a stadium floor attract that many more conventions? I have my doubts. Final Four/ NCAA regionals? Possible. Not going to rule it out, but attracting the Final Four would be almost as much a long shot as getting a Super Bowl. Plus, the FNC already gets NCAA subregionals semi-regularly. UB football? UB seems unconcerned about upgrading its program, and would prefer to keep playing in its bare-bones stadium on campus. I'd like to see a new stadium that can be used more than 8-10 times a year, but I'm having a hard time seeing other uses for it. Any stadium that is going to see use outside of Bills games needs to be in an urban center, either downtown Buffalo or Niagara Falls. Orchard Park just doesn't cut it.
  12. None of that will generate revenue with the stadium in Orchard Park. If the stadium was in downtown Buffalo (or Niagara Falls, perhaps), then you have a shot at making some money outside of game days. The trade-off for having a stadium in the burbs with ample room for tailgating is that it will only be used 8-10 times per year.
  13. This thread is not nearly as funny as the Toronto conspiracy one.
  14. Is it 2012 already? BTW does Bennett ever make the Wall of Fame? 3x All-Pro, 5x Pro Bowl, 1990s All-Decade Team, 1988 Defensive POTY. All that says yes, but does his sexual assault arrest in 1997 keep him off the Wall?
  15. Not sure what one has to do with the other, outside of the fact the Bills seem to be proven wrong on both counts.
  16. Duh. The point of Sullivan's column is that it was foolish to sign Merriman this year, not claim him off of waivers last year. Who was clamoring to sign him after he came up lame last year? You said if the Bills didn't sign him this year that people would call Ralph cheap. Preposterous.
  17. Those posts are dated October 18. The Bills claimed him on Nov. 3. Fifteen minutes into his first practice here he goes down. Maybe you can use the search function and find some posts after Nov. 3 where people are freaking out that the Bills have to resign him for this season, because your previous search did nothing to prove your point.
  18. A joke so hilarious he had to post it twice.
  19. If the Ralph was downtown, then maybe you'd get that extra revenue. It's not. Very few people are going to make the drive to eat or drink or shop at a Bills themed sports bar just because it's connected to the stadium.
