Superbowl Game Thread - Chiefs vs Eagles
tigerthelion replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Likely doesn't want Patty to break his records. -
Imagine Allen with Boldin and Fitzgerald. 😎 I remember Fitzgerald's long td catch in that game. Great game, that was.

Any person who thinks that Lamar should have three MVP trophies at this stage of his career has zero credibility and is a certified lunatic.
-
Josh should have been 1st team All Pro. The consolation prize was handed out to Barkley, if anything.
-
Even Nick Wright is more rational than most of the blowhards on ESPN.
-
I don't think he deserves to be in the HOF, but I believe he will be voted in at some point.

Cooper Kupp leaving the Rams. Want him?
tigerthelion replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not really. On the downside of his career. Alway hurt. Production on a steady decline. He's not an outside guy. Salary is way too high. -
Slight problem with the offense against KC was that it relied on about a half dozen or more Josh Allen tumbles into the line of scrimmage, risking life and limb to pick up a yard. When they needed a drive with three minutes left, an Allen run was about all they could muster. Yes, they scored 29 on KC but they were not easy points. I am all for using Josh Allen as a running weapon, but they gotta find a way to pick up a yard without putting him in harms way so much. Gotta have another option than Josh sitting , rolling, waiting for someone to get open. Gotta have a better option than stone hands Kincaid on 4th down. Gotta do better than non factors like Cooper and Coleman.

Would Courtland Sutton be enough of a get for the Bills? I know there are mixed opinions on him. May not take all that much to get him in a trade.
-
Which is not a good look for Beane, since a big slot was not what Buffalo needed going into this past season.
-
Yes, positional need definitely has to be taken into account during the draft. I don't like forcing picks just for need, though. Elam and Coleman seemed forced, and both have turned out to be complete duds so far. If Buffalo needed a speed threat on the outside, why draft a slow, unpolished WR like Coleman just because WR was a need? If they couldn't move up for a guy like Brian Thomas Jr., then they would have been better off taking BPA in my opinion . They could have picked up a WR in round four or five that could likely give them as much as Coleman. Seems like Beane doesn't like having speed on the team for some reason.

James Cook Opens Up On Losing To Chiefs - interview
tigerthelion replied to One Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall
At 20 million, of course you don't resign Cook. Can't see his ask being that high, though. We'll see what transpires. Cook is awesome but I don't think you sign any running back for 20 million. -
James Cook Opens Up On Losing To Chiefs - interview
tigerthelion replied to One Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thought before the season it was foolish to give him an extension (RB and all) but I am coming around to keeping him in Buffalo. His performance in the KC game was stellar. He likely should have been utilized more on some of those downs where they went with Allen tumbling forward for next to no gain. He's a weapon and should be treated as such. His drops in the prior year were a concern but I am definitely coming around to him sticking with the team. -
You could almost just play Beane's end of year press conferences on repeat from prior years . Doesn't seem to ever be any real accountability. They'll likely fire Smiley and we'll be having the same discussions around this time next year.

Hot Take: Does Bobby Babich Lose His Job?
tigerthelion replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
That may be a problem then. Maybe they should be looking for more guys with elite physical traits. I know, Elam busted, but looking to acquire guys with high athleticism and elite physical traits is usually not a bad thing. Size and speed are not a bad thing. -

Is the Bills brass looking for high end skill and athleticism or are they looking more for game iq? Seems they value high motor guys over high ceiling guys. -
Do Bills players think they can beat the Chiefs?
tigerthelion replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pass rush or not, two of those throws were reckless and you could tell Allen was nerved up to the max. -
Do Bills players think they can beat the Chiefs?
tigerthelion replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I believe they have serious doubts. Seems to me that KC knows they will win while the Bills are always just hoping. Until they beat KC in the playoffs, I think that doubt sticks around. See how Josh started the game compared to how Mahomes started the game? One calm and collected, the other looking frantic and out of sorts, like the weight of the world is on his shoulders. -

Time to bring in a defensive guy from outside of the organization, imo. Get a fresh set of eyes. Maybe he can also have input on drafting defense because Beane and McDermott are not the best in that regard. If you believe that McDermott has no say in the draft, you would put all the blame on Beane for the lack of talent. If you think Sean has input and sway, they both share blame for the lack of talent. -
No maybe about it. The Chiefs definitely have more talent on defense. I tend to think that McDermott has a big say in who Beane gets on defense, so in that respect, McDermott shoulders some of the blame for lack of defensive talent.
