Bill Polian once said, to have a great team you need 3 Cornerstones. QB, LT to protect the QB and a DE that can consistently get after the QB. Now I would add a damn good CB in this day in time, but his philosophy still holds true today. We have Allen, Dawkins and.... A bunch of average bodies that aren't considered a threat to any OC. Football hasn't changed so much that a stud DE should be a HUGE priority. But we keep drafting, and queue the whiners talking about where we draft, and we keep adding average / hopeful FA's. Until we can hit on a guy we have to pay 30+ mill per year to, then its just not going to happen. Josh would have to re structure, we would need to send a player or 2 and at least 1 first. See my post above about how Polian said to build a team. I trade AJ, a 1st 2026, and a 2027 2nd and make the trade. Move the damn money around for this guy to get an extension and lets put to bed us HOPING the DL will deliver.

He was abnormally blunt when it came to Bishop yesterday. I think he is about done. If he can't get it together this year, I can see McDermott sending him packing. They are getting less and less patient with oft injured players If it keeps him off the field repeatedly, its not minor. There just comes a point we need a roster that is mostly full of healthy players. This guy has had TWO camps out of TWO where he cant come close to fully participating. Sorry but thats a huge red flag./

McDermott said this offseason he did that and changes were going to be made. He got bigger on the DL,but Jackson looked like a dumpster fire so that isnt going to plan. And Im sure the didn't expect Bishop to be Mr Glass. That said, 3rd down stoppage is still crap,so something has to give.

Injury history and can't tackle worth a damn. Both are Red Flags for McDermott

This has been said many times... 1) hr is noy our best 3rd down or receiving back. 2) his blocking isnt good and he didn't do well blocking on the last drive. This is why I would have hold off paying him to see if those aspects improved this year. But they signed him and iy is what it is.

12 mill per, that's about right. 6th highest RB, is about right as well.
