I've been adamant he will be all world by 30 or 31.. he will have 60 passing touchdowns
I've said it here before and I'll throw it out again
Josh Allen at age 31 season will have 60 touchdowns
He has never thrown for 40 TDs in is career but you think he’ll have 60 four years from now? Maybe if he’s the type of personality that dedicates himself to being the best ever he might have chance. At the rate he’s going he has a better chance to get his golf index down to 2 by age 31 than throwing for 60 TDs.1 hour ago, Kaenon said:As long as we have Josh, we're fine.
Yes. We’ll be fine winning the division and getting knocked out in the playoffs. The Bears, Falcons, Colts would love to be us. -

Who needs facts and stats when you can 'just watch'?
Mahomes 2018 season is on a very short list for best season by any QB in NFL history.
The fact (yes, fact) that he hasn't improved on that season doesn't mean that he's lazy in the offseason or doesn't watch enough film.
It just means he set the bar so high it's almost impossible to improve on it.
Josh's play has been about the same for 4 years in a row now. When you're one of the 3 best QBs in the league playing about the same not improving is still a VERY GOOD thing. Arguing otherwise and trying to present that as proof that Josh doesn't put in the off-field work is just silly.
By this logic who needs to watch games when you can just look at stats. This is a very nutty argument you’re making. Especially for the qb position. Both guys are better than their earlier selves.

Allen specifically said he doesn't want to watch "too much" film. I am sure Kyler Murray feels the same way.
That doesn’t mean he won’t watch any film. Can’t compare that to Kyler who has it written in his contract to study. -

Last off-season there was a very similar thread after a "story" from Jason Whitlock about the Diggs-Allen relationship. I understand that Jason Whitlock is not very reliable and I am certainly not saying Whitlock was correct but it definitely counts as a whisper. We had essentially the same thread last off-season and that didn't come out of a vacuum.
As stated upthread, I don't begrudge him taking a few months off and having a little fun to recover mind and body. I am much more concerned about how little film he watched which was confirmed on the McAfee show. McAfee asked Allen about it, which means that Allen not watching much film is a well known fact around the NFL. There was also a story that the backup QBs (Case Keenum and Matt Barkley) used to tease Allen about how little flim he watches. These would also count as whispers.
Before people come back with but he explains that "I don't watch a lot of film because teams play me differently", IMHO, that is a pure BS excuse.
I’m not sure if the watching film part is true but there seems to be a lot of smoke about it since last season. What’s clearly accurate is his deficiencies in processing reads and game situational awareness. In short the mental part of being an elite qb. Hoping that he recognizes that and is doing everything he can to improve. -

They don’t have to improve “significantly”. They were one dropped Diggs pass, or a missed FG from possibly winning the SB. They will be a favorite again next year.
Oh my. I must have missed Bills playing in the superbowl. Damn multiverse.-

Could be, yeah.
Stroud's no Josh Allen. His main achievement as a QB last year was avoiding turnovers. Otherwise, he put up Derek Carr numbers. Jordan Love had a better year, yet few comment on it.
Agreed. But he was also a rookie. I think he exceeded a lot of people’s expectations. Mine included.-

What annoys me is the this notion of a #1 receiver. The Chiefs won the last two championships without much at receiver but a TE who was a threat. The Niners have a #1 receiver who is a slot guy and is hurt a-lot. The Patriots won all those years without a real #1 and the time that they had one in Randy Moss they lost to the Giants. The Eagles won one with a backup QB and Zach Ertz.
I think it is just an overrated notion that we need a big X or whatever. Erhardt-perkins doesn’t even really have these traditional receiver positions built in. It’s about concepts and you have an outside guy and an inside guy. In trips you have an outside guy, and inside guy and a middle guy and they run different routes depending on the concept called and the coverage.
We just need good players who can run routes and be where they are supposed to be. If you can get a game breaker who the defense has to double, thats amazing.
How many true #1s are there in the league anyway? Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, Ja’Marr Chase…CeeDee Lamb and Amon Ra St. Brown probably but they are really slot players. Davante Adams probably, but he is slowing down as is Cooper Kupp and I need to see Nacua repeat this year before I annoint him. Deebo, but he is a slot/gadget guy. This notion that you need a true number 1 is a myth. There are like 5-6 teams in the league with true #1 receivers imo.
Just give your all world QB weapons that are reliable, catch the football, and play within the system.
KC has won with a #1 guy in Hill and won without a true #1 wr. I think they’re an exception and not too many teams throughout league history can do that.Bills have not won it with Diggs as a true #1 wr the last four years. Fans were even upset that Davis didn’t do more as a #2. Expecting to win it now after losing that #1 wr and that #2 is an improbable expectation. Another true reliable #1 has to emerge from the current group (including draft picks) this season for there to be a real chance the following season.
This season will be used to sort all this out. When KC traded away Hill they put a lot of burden on Mahomes to make it work with the aftermath. Same will be expected of Allen. Let’s see how it unfolds.

Tua posted videos throwing to Berrios and Waddle last off-season.
Similarly Sky Moore and other KC receivers are there with Mahomes as well. Whether these offseason extra work help is debatable.
What’s funny is the length some fans go to defend Allen when it really isn’t necessary. It’s ok if Allen doesn’t want to do this. He’s always among the stat leaders during the season so it’s all good.
Edit:
Slight advantage I see with Mahomes’ camp is working with draft prospects. I think Brock Bowers is there and might be others.

a contender? sure. they were last year too. then they got blown out
They made the playoffs last year but were not contenders. They overachieved. That experience made them see their deficiencies and they addressed them to make a run next season. I think they will be one of the top 4 in the AFC if Stroud doesn’t take a step back. -

Diggs just straight up played himself off a contender. So I doubt that was a top item on his "where will they send me next" list...
You don’t think Houston is a contender? They’re building to make a run next season. -
We wouldn’t have been bothered by Diggs’ cryptic tweets because we’d be occupied with Rex’s weird feet tweets.

I get that and you're right. Josh was on a rookie contract at one point and Buffalo never gave him this much help as stroud is getting or Burrow or Hurts at one point, Tua and so on.
I thought trading away a 1st for Diggs was tremendous help for Allen.-

Struck a nerve there didn’t I, lol
ya know something, no-one on the Bills team is scared/worried, just those “adult fans” who like to “splain” stuff to others to make themselves feel secure, so why don’t you relax, fix yourself your favorite cocktail 🍸🚬 and maybe wait until training camp to make a definitive decision. Nuthin but luv fellow Bills fan, 😁👍
Haha. Online posts have no tone of voice context so readers will fill that in with whatever suits their interest. So no you didn’t hit a nerve. It’s all fun to get through my day.
For me it’s definitive because of history and players turnovers. It’s hard to argue with those.
So now I’m insecure on top of being a child. Lol. Ok I’ll have a drink tonight to that! Cheers and go Bills!

We mainly lost older guys who couldn't stay healthy.
We almost beat KC w/ Diggs not really showing up and dropping a pass that could have won that game. I feel confident that whoever we get in the 1st round can at least match the 40 yards per game production we were seeing in the last half of the season.
We might be better w/ younger, faster guys at safety. Losing Morse is more of a big deal, but if McGovern can excel there, it's a wash.
I'm not seeing any kind of devastating roster turnover. We were old, and got younger, and faster. And we'll get a bunch of guys back who weren't even playing at the end, or were playing hurt.
I think we will be better. Getting younger is a great move for the team. But it’ll take time for young players to match (hopefully exceed) production from those vets. This coming season will be a testing period of sort with new younger talent. If things go well 2025-2026 season could be when it happens. If Bills don’t hoist a Lombardi that season I think the coaching staff will be gone.

Of course we can, it’s just the fair weather fans that are having a tantrum, I say ignore those children,
Saying we can win it in a year with roster turnovers of major players on the team is what children do when they can’t comprehend the reality of a situation. When the adults explain what the situation really is the children would start calling people names because they just don’t like it.-

If you put "not giving Allen weapons" in quotes, it implies sarcasm. I didn't read through the thread, so if that is not your intention, I misread your intent.
It wasn’t meant to be sarcasm. The quotes were quoting what most here say. Yes I agree that the WR room needs an upgrade. Even more so now that Diggs is gone.My response was to the poster that said we can win with scrub receivers like KC did because we have Allen. We can all see that is not true given what has played out. No snark intended.

Cut the snark. The WR room needed upgrading before the Diggs trade. Be sore about it all you like, it's a definite priority now.
The Bills have invested far less at the WR position than the competition in terms of early draft picks.
Mahomes and KC have Andy Reid calling plays, and the freedom that comes from building on a foundation of championship success.
You don't think that buys you some zebra love and Valentines from Roger Goodell, not to mention backstage passes to Taylor Swift concerts?
Did I say something not true? -

YOU WIN IN THE TRENCHES - WITH AN ELITE QB YOUR WRs CAN BE MVS, TONEY, HARDMAN AND A ROOKIE AND YOU CAN WIN THE SB.
That formula only works for Mahomes and KC. Bills need multiple all pro receivers otherwise it’s ‘not giving Allen weapons’.-

I think we have just as realistic a shot at the SB as we have for the past 3 years.
Agreed. Because ‘realistically’ we didn’t get to the afccg the last 3 years much less the superbowl. Now the team is turning over its roster to go younger. I think they will be better for it eventually but not this coming season. Do or die for this coaching staff in 2025 is my guess. -

Of course we can. Anyone who thinks we are not Superbowl contenders is foolish.
Define contender? Making the playoffs? Sure. If contender is a realistic shot at making the superbowl next season? Then call me foolish.Bills closest opportunity to get to a superbowl was 4 seasons ago. Since then they’ve not gotten pass the divisional 3 times with ascending and stable teams. Now with major roster turnovers they’re suddenly going to achieve more than they’ve ever had? Yeah…no.

No. I’m saying we can do a lot better as a team. Including Allen.
