He might be the best QB ever.  He’s ended 3 of our last 4 seasons.  I don’t like the guy.  Not sure why any bills fan would like him.  But hate is a different story.  I don’t hate him.

From the outside, i think he could have it a lot better than he does.  You're about to be a billionaire and you get to choose one person to spend the rest of your life…. And you choose her.   The biggest decision one could make….and you blow it in such a big way.   🤦🏻‍♂️ sorry, not sorry.

They’ve been together since HS. If anything wouldn’t it shows that he’s loyal and isn’t that an admirable trait?

I agree with you about the ‘hate’ part. How can a person hate someone they only see play ball on TV. I get hating teams but individuals? It says more about the person doing the hating.

They want BIG and Athletic.  Speed is good, don't get me wrong, but they are seeming to push for big, physical WR's and that is what Joe Brady had his year as OC with HIS offense down at LSU.  No more getting bullied at the LOS, and hopefully a lot more contested balls.  It also brings a greater Catch radius for Allen to hit on when his passes are slightly off.

Look I get it, Fans want splash they want exciting and we tried that with smaller, faster WR's and it didn't work.  I am excited to see this new approach to be honest, and if we get the running game going, then we are going to see somewhat less exciting 8, 10,12+ play drives that eat the clock and keep guys like Mahomes and Kelce on the bench and hopefully lead to more TD's.

Sounds like Martyball from the 90s.

As I said, it helps with development. When Mahomes clearly didn’t need a $30 million WR, they traded him and put the money elsewhere.

Not every franchise qb, no matter how talented, can do what Mahomes has done. At the surface I agree with you that since Allen ‘arrived’ he should make any receivers better. That’s necessary because of how much franchise QBs make.

However, four years with Diggs, a top 5 receiver most of that time, and Davis, a great 2nd option, and we couldn’t get over the top. I do think 2 top flight receivers is necessary for Allen. Hopefully Kincaid and Coleman can develop into those roles. With the cap situation investing in a premier wr in FA is probably not doable.

I feel like the Bills went out and got Allen a WR1 in 2020 and then other teams have gone crazy loading up with WRs for their rookie contract QBs. Getting 2 or 3 highly rated WRs for their young QB.

It probably helps but what team has actually won a Super Bowl doing this? I don’t think any team loading up at WR for their young QB has won anything yet. Maybe because it’s a pretty new trend.

When Mahomes was on his rookie contract KC signed Sammy Watkins and drafted Hardman to go along with Hill and Kelce. Then they won their first Superbowl so I think that qualifies the scenario you laid out. Then they won 2 more without big name receivers so I guess a team can do it either way.

Franchise QB and some key vets in place and you can win.  Bills can do it, we have the roster.

Anything is possible. But we couldn’t do it with a franchise qb and quality vets that have played together the last handful of years. To suddenly lose those guys and win with rookies replacements the first year of transition is something I wouldn’t bet on.

It might be just a little more than that.......it might have something to do with a fantastic QB, a HOF TE, an excellent D, etc.

Their D was not excellent in ‘22 due to all the rookies as mentioned. Agree about the QB, TE, and excellent coaching.

Alot of new faces and rookies will be counted on. I honestly have no idea how the 2024 season will play out. They won't be a complete bottom feeder, but I am not expecting a Super Bowl contender either.

People saw how KC won it all when they started a bunch of rookies in ‘22 and think that’s the norm when it’s really an anomaly. Outside of KC I can’t think of a team that can achieve that in the current NFL.

I don't think that unrealistic at all, honestly.

Allen has had MVP buzz ever since 2020.  Last season he didn't get it due to turnovers. I expect his TOs to drop now that Gabe Davis isn't on the team and Coleman is.

10-12 wins is where they've been right around every season since 2020.

The last two playoff matchups against the Chiefs has gone to the wire. They're not significantly better than us, despite what the agitated fanbase here is going to tell you.

I think winning the division is not unrealistic. I actually expect them to despite improvements from the other teams in their division. Going further in the playoffs than the divisional? I don’t think it will happen this year. The following year is more realistic for that expectation to me. Can’t wait to see how it unfolds.

    - Bills go 12-5, Allen gets a MVP because the narrative is that they took away his weapons and they still were very successful.

    - Aaron Rodgers breaks down (physically, but probably mentally too), Jets win 7 games.

    - The Patriots get a Wildcard spot

    - Miami falls apart as the offense is found out, but they continue to beat up on bad teams. Tua is still signed to a 45+ Million a year contract.

    - Bills get to the AFC championship, beating the Chiefs in the divisional round.

That’s a heck of a dream you had last night. Congrats.

It says it's an extension, so it must be added years.

So...not only do we have to deal with him on KC for longer than hoped, we also have to deal with Taylor Swift in the fan suite.  Ugh!

If KC wins the Superbowl this coming season he retires. My prediction.

  11. Yet another thread defending and justifying Coleman’s 40 time. That alone acknowledges that he is slow compared to other receivers. What people don’t get is it doesn’t matter how slow he is if he can juke the defender into running the wrong way. He also has strong hands for contested catches if the defender closes in. So embrace his speed (or lack there of). Can’t wait to see him play in this offense.

I do worry that the front office is not paying to Allen's strengths.  Allen does not like the short game.  He loses patience with it too easily.  It also requires a lot of pre-snap reads and ball placement which not his forte.  Allen displayed more patience at the end of last season, maybe he will keep it up.

The short methodical game is where championships are won. I agree with you on all the reasons that’s not where Allen excels. But he has to improve in this area if the Bills are to ever win one.

The best prospects (not necessarily the best actual NFLers) are found in the Top 100.  Going into the draft, the Bills had 2 picks in the Top 100, #28 and  #60.  They came out of Day 1 with #33, #60, #95.   If the Bills hadn't traded back, they probably would have still taken Bishop at #60 but KC would have gotten somebody, maybe  maybe somebody a lot better than HIcks, with #95.

Like I said, for their sake, Bishop better be a better pro than Hicks.

And if DeWayne Carter, drafted with the 3rd round pick obtained from KC, turns out to be a better player than Jaden Hicks, will the media shut up then?

Well we all know DeWayne Carter is going to be a hof DT but they play different positions. Jaden Hicks and Cole Bishop are both safeties so they’re more relevant comparison. So imagine giving KC the opportunity to pick Worthy and he turns out great. Then with the next pick they got from Buffalo select a better player than Buffalo did while picking 73 spots later for the same position. You know that’s something the media would definitely lean into.

The optics are "bad" only because people don't look at the whole picture rationally.   The Bills traded with KC because they didn't have a particular player they really wanted at #28 plus Chiefs gave them their third round pick in order to swap #28 for #32.   Not only did the Bills gain a top 100 pick, but the Chiefs lost that pick.   That's a win any way you look at it.

But they gave KC their 4th round pick at #133 so really swapping picks not gaining an extra pick. KC used that #133 pick on Jaden Hicks. If he turns out to be a better db than Cole Bishop, whom the Bills took with pick #60, then we’ll never hear the end of this trade from the media.

It was a tongue in cheek remark on my part. Anyway, you can’t worry about what another team is doing. Or “optics” for that matter. That’s emotional stuff that fans think about, not GMs.

I completely agree with you. Those memes and sport shows hot takes are aimed directly at those fans to get a rise. It’s entertainment and I don’t mind it.
