I wouldn't call the Bill extremely prepared to start the game — as per the penalties and sieve-like defense in the first half. BUT... as we've seen the Pats do to us over the last couple decades, we made adjustments and played far better in the second half. Good teams adjust and average teams squander good starts.

I'm hoping he impresses this year but remember he's still only 21 and the youngest player on the team. If he does not produce 100-yard games this year, we can't freak out.

Concerns? On defense, plenty. Two new safeties is a big reason and I bet Tyreek and/or Waddle rip off a couple very long gains. Still hope to win but it might not be easy.

Diggs' defenders may scoff, but I think this is pretty damning. Multiple teammates say they don't trust the guy with their sister and don't want to bring him home to their parents. I think that's a direct assessment of his character. Then Maddy Glab (whom I don't really respect as a "reporter" though she seems like a very nice person) says what she said about Steph. No, not every character attack is truthful but when there's this much smoke...

If Diggs had a history of big playoff performances with the Bills I'd have a lot more affection for him and tolerance for his attention seeking. But he doesn't and I don't.

“Jets are in complete disarray” - B/R Article
Nephilim17 replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
"Per Fox Sports, Rodgers admitted that his absence was because of a trip to Egypt, which he planned based on the previous year's minicamp schedule." In Rodger's defense, the pyramids may not be around that much longer. -
Zach Davidson vs. Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Yes, and lots of production when it matters most, the post-season. If I recall, he's never dropped a playoff pass. -
Bass struggling at minicamp (and now at training camp)
Nephilim17 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Really? I've heard (and not sure his is precise) that he's only making about 2/3 of his kicks. Maybe that was just one or two bad days but he's worrying Joe Marino who has followed all of the camp days. -
Every fan has the right to feel what they will but it's a lot less stressful going into the season with no expectations. If they play well, great. If not, it's a rebuilding year and maybe it spurs some roster (or management) changes that many of us want. Tying your happiness to a sports team is a losing bet. I say now in the off-season.

Wanna watch this but can't for a bit. Any notable comments either about Jim's Bills or the Bills of today with Josh?

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 2
Nephilim17 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Excellent to hear. How does a tackle with great measurements and star potential slip to the sixth? One scouting report said turning 25 as a rookie and unrefined technique. I don't care if it takes the kids a year or two to learn technique. If this is another Jason Peters I would love it —tackles can play at a high level well into their 30s. -
Not good but leg injury would be worse.

Green Light Podcast - Chris Long with JA17

Interesting — and great to hear — how he loves Buffalo as a city and how it's the right place for him: He wanted to be here and was "100%" excited to come here. Had a "fear of being in a big city." The people in Buffalo "are nothing but fantastic." Josh also has a bit of social anxiety and large groups can be harder for him. Funny line: He hates traffic but when it's a traffic jam in Buffalo "it's a six-minute commute instead of a five-minute commute." -
I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better
Nephilim17 replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hoping between him, Shakir and Kincaid, Josh will have 3 reliable guys who can separate and catch the ball. For me, this year, Coleman is a bonus but not a necessary top-3 guy. -

Fair enough. But was there a WR available at our pick who you are confident will be a difference maker by 2025? FWIW, with my uniformed opinion about college guys, I liked Legette. -
Seems reasonable but keep in mind the odds are not based on what they think will actually happen necessarily but how they want to get the right mix of betting money the public. So odds reflect how they think the public feels which may not be exactly the same as true scientific odds to actually win. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think that's how it works.

Camp Battles: Quintin Morris vs Zach Davidson
Nephilim17 replied to ColoradoBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Even after his renegotiated contract it seems that Knox is due $14 million in 2025 and $17 million in 2026. That doesn't seem tenable for a number 2 TE. So thinking who might replace him as the number 2 next year is a valid question. https://overthecap.com/player/dawson-knox/7887 -
Most admired NFL players of all time

I just new him for his football career and civil rights activism. Looking further, I see the assault allegations. Did not know that. If true, it certainly tarnishes his life. I don't know enough to say if true or not. -

Not sure if that's Diggs chewing out Stroud. Yet.

Joe Buscaglia's Projected 53 man roster as of today

I'd live to find a way to keep Davidson as well. He's had an eye-opening camp, is 6'7", athletic and relatively young. I haven't followed Gilliam's role on ST but I'd be happy with that move.
