  1. Welp, there goes whatever was left of real Republicans. Conservative posters here aren't bothered. there aren't any traditional R's. The tent is getting smaller https://finance.yahoo.com/news/the-stock-markets-fate-all-depends-on-tariffs-080026877.html Guggenheim Partners Investment Management CIO Anne Walsh told Yahoo Finance on Wednesday that the "the on, then off, then on and then off again narrative" surrounding tariffs is driving volatility in the market. And as long as that persists, there likely isn't a direct path higher for stocks. "It doesn't feel like a smooth trajectory [for stocks] because of all of the noise," Walsh said. Piper Sandler chief investment strategist Michael Kantrowitz recently offered similar sentiment, writing in a note to clients: "[We’re] unlikely to see a material recovery in equities until we see the start of fiscal policy uncertainty abating," noting that a recent surge in fiscal policy uncertainty, as measured by an index tracked on Bloomberg and seen below, has coincided with the market's recent slide.
  2. Most everyone is tightening their belts. meanwhile Tommy Tuberville says "no pain, no gain" which is the opposite of orange slobs campaign promises. https://www.wsj.com/economy/consumers/consumer-angst-is-striking-all-income-levels-ab32d5d5 or we could wait til the next pandemic and discourage vaccine use on far right media...It's clinical language
  3. shocker! but we don't need their stinking business. hopefully they keep selectively targeting the red states. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/12/i-feel-utter-anger-from-canada-to-europe-a-movement-to-boycott-us-goods-is-spreading
  4. I just golfed with a guy who has a house in Kiawah. He thinks they'll be many fewer Canadian renters for it this year. Can you blame them? I told him he should advertise his D party affiliation on VRBO. Either that or he can gift me a few weeks there.
  5. it's difficult to ignore a tesla crash on the side of the road, but try...This guy is a total wreck. try to ignore him. it's what will hurt him the most.
  6. same complaint because it your same old shyte.
  7. They have no idea what they want. Low prices? nah, prices aren't a big deal. peace, no wars? no, only if it involves russia. really, it's just anything the orange blob does that they're for. I think targeted tariffs on red states are a great approach for our Canadian, Mexican and European friends. Show them that most of the civilized world thinks they're scum.
  8. not buying. being honest, decent and respectful to our neighbors in efforts to avoid wars with like minded countries. turns out, maga's wants to emulate russia and similar autocracies.
  9. Do you ever post thoughts in your own words? you're like a clearing house for far right influencers. .trump spoke briefly about playing the long game. bullying and threatening long time, important allies is not that.
  10. EU going after red states with tariffs. Eradicate the cause https://apnews.com/article/trump-eu-tariffs-countermeasures-806a3b9bcc9cd4e45817e672d95f0070
  11. or...you could take out a loan and buy one. https://www.intuit.com/solutions/education/resources/calculators/auto-loan/ You could even live out of one of those ugly flammable minimalist pup tent pieces of crap. and you'd be throwing musk a lifesaver.
  12. They don’t care. It isn’t about right and wrong to cultists and morons. Trump makes them feel good. They don’t own stocks or work for the government ( or at small).
  13. That's funny! I prefer the term thick pecs. It happens.
  14. the best scenario is to be dominant but respected and admired. The US is neither of those things in the eyes of our past allies.
  15. Canada has no say? I suspect they could easily find allies to help fend off an imperialist attack by the US. To suggest invasion is just ignorant. where are we getting aluminum? you supposedly teach. A noble profession but one without much autonomy. Even parents are your bosses I was the founding partner of my practice. I can assure you I was the most dominant there.
  16. BS. where are we going to get Aluminum from? China? Mexico? The US imports aluminum from Canada ($11.22 billion), China ($2.74 billion), and Mexico ($1.95 billion) while the top Aluminum Importers and Buyers in the US include Dubal America Inc You seem almost gleeful at the thought of dominating our neighbors. f'in immoral fascist. an actuary might estimate his longevity as only a couple years. One can hope. And there are plenty of brave, decent Americans left. Just very few on the right.
  17. what a deal! Chocolate soufflé tonight. Yum! https://shop.aldi.us/store/aldi/s?k=eggs https://www.kroger.com/p/kroger-grade-a-large-white-eggs/0001111060933?fulfillment=PICKUP&storecode=02600502&cid=cid=shp_bin_shopl&&cid=shp_bin_ob.shopl_.FY25.01_search_ent_awar.all_allent.lia_corelia_kroger.all_b_lia_shop_all_na_obcatchall_all_rev_roas_sf_ma%23%23%23%23%23%23%23%23%23&msclkid=8a299cbb322214262931fb6b4eaf17b0&gclid=8a299cbb322214262931fb6b4eaf17b0&gclsrc=3p.ds
  18. I think demographics provide important insights. here are some from the WSJ. https://images.dowjones.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/183/2018/05/09164150/WSJ.com-Audience-Profile.pdf Doesn't meet my definition of mainstream. Do you disagree?
  19. yup, you were sucking off @T master teat. Shame on you for investing in US companies.
  20. top read piece in WSJ today. From an analyst at a conservative think tank, this is disturbing “On Friday, I would have said I thought the administration was worried about their policies really slowing down the economy, and they were trying to lay the groundwork for the narrative that they inherited a weakening economy,” said Michael Strain, head of economic-policy studies at the right-leaning American Enterprise Institute. More recent comments seem to have gone beyond that. “Now, there’s almost a sense that if something goes wrong in the economy, then that’s fine,” said Perkins. “That’s making people quite nervous because if you get to the point where you are pushing the economy into a recession, there is no guarantee that that’s just going to pass quickly.”
  21. on the bright side, we're still traveling. Less crowded flights are good. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/03/11/airline-ceo-domestic-travel-demand.html Might have been good to tell the rubes what they were getting into before the election, don't ya think? Instead, he played the part of the wizard of oz. they'll figure it out in a few months.
  22. A friend owns a car wash. Gave me a free graphex wash to try. I always do brushless but the shine is amazing even on our 9 yo outback. Supposedly lasts a year.
  23. Still see the hawk. My dogs bark at it when it circles above. Beautiful bird. A kestrel has now taken up residence. Reportedly ferocious but also preyed on by other bird predators. Perhaps I’ll change my name again.
  24. Have you tried carbon wax? Wasn’t impressed with ceramic but carbon shined better than anything I’ve seen. This looks fantastic. I see many restored trucks from that era. Vettes, cobras, nissanz z’s, Honda s2000’s, Audi tt’s…just a few of my personal favorites.
