  1. Another false choice. They are both important and both sleazy and dangerous.
  2. False choice. Most likely is that garland is a puss and the report is correct. The committee was majority R.
  3. yes. 3 cheers for statutory rape, prostitution and drugs! were the R's gonna let us know about this before he became AG? trump must have known. huge blackmail risk. trump wants chaos.
  4. manly men pay for sex! manly men have sex with underage females. manly men do drugs. manly men should be Attorney General. trump likes manly men.
  5. agree. the rest is "fanciful". Here's a nice read on the possible implications of this bill. He's not getting a blank check. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/12/21/donald-trump-warned-republican-rebels-deportation-plan/ maybe it's just me, but the measures removed from the billl seemed pretty helpful to the middle class: The final funding bill removed more than 1,000 pages of policy when Mr Trump and Elon Musk, his close ally and Tesla billionaire, came out against the deal. Among the scrapped measures were restrictions on US investments in China, policy aimed at lowering prescription drug prices and rules clamping down on deceptive advertising of tickets for events, according to Politico.
  6. oligarchy=bad. agree
  7. for the record and to save the mods time, I wrote this on 12/18: 9/11 was horrible, no denying it. But in regards to our country, 1/6 was worse. We are watching the disintegration of a great nation at the hands of barbarians. This was a flash point. History has seen this play before in Rome...now care to opine on the contention that the whole thing was staged? That doesn't offend your sensibilities? partisan indeed... it's not a rare sentiment, at least among people I hang with.
  8. Where are you on the org chart? In front of a cash register or locked in a cubicle? while you're at it, tell your manager what the mean man wrote.
  9. you went to the principal? wow, I'm quaking. I said I thought 1/6 was more damaging than 9/11 for the future of the country. I also said that 9/11 was terrible. so F off. Juvenile and pedantic indeed. A supposed "Doc" should know the difference between flu and flue. But that's who most of you MAGAs are.
  10. It seems we share something: a fondness for talking heads. It dates you. Saw them in 1979 in a college gym with 500 others. Had never heard of them. Fan ever since. it’s great that the bill was passed but things are not and will not be the same. I thought most MAGAs voted explicitly for change. They’re going to get it. Trump wanted a shutdown. He’s going to get what he wants more often than not.
  11. Way to miss the point: the more things change, the more things stay the same.
  12. Unsurprisingly, you argue with the off hand comment rather than your support for a documented traitor.
  13. You mean like the “investor class?” Trump sure has us investors by the short and curlies. And the plebs are going to make out like bandits! And who are state leaches? You mean people cashing in on government aid programs? More MAGAs doing that than Ds. Look at the election demographics…
  14. What a load of crap. There was abundant coordination. It’s well documented but you choose to ignore it. Telling that you call the fake electors scheme a conspiracy. Yet you support a man who engaged in a conspiracy against his own country and therefore his own people. How do you rationalize that? Flue is what you open in a fireplace btw
  15. your hope and $2.19 will get you a cup of coffee at McDonalds. He's already signaled his priorities and you are not one.
  16. Far right billionaires are great. It's only progressive billionaires that are a problem...
  17. clear as mud...MAGA logic.
  18. say what? what did they want? you seem to be saying "anything but the "establishment". that's a pretty low bar. Think of the historical figures who accomplished overturning the establishment: Lenin, Mao, Castro, Hitler, Mussolini etc. Be careful what you ask for. Your confidence in reigning in trump is misplaced.
  19. and you're calling me naive? trump has a strangle hold on the R party. Almost all other R leaders have bent a knee. Those that haven't were primaried or retired. Yet you think you ar going to hold him to account. Forgive me while I chuckle about you showing him the light should he go astray. In that instance you can take solace in the fact that he's 78, obese and deconditioned. I do.
  20. yes, draining the swamp!!! Apparently, Musk is in agreement. raising the debt ceiling is not gov't efficiency and the debt is not a psychological issue as trump claims. Our huge interest payments are proof enough.
  21. I thought covid was nothing worse than the flu...It was raging by the time Biden took over. You can't put the genie back in the bottle. trump wanted pence to refuse to certify the election. At least you're cognizant of that. Someone has come forward, however and he was trump's attorney. Many other henchmen are now also felons: https://www.npr.org/2023/10/20/1207417000/kenneth-chesebro-guilty-plea-georgia.
  22. “Did a worse job”. Just doesn’t sound right literally or literally. But what was going on between trump and pence then and why?
  23. No sweater vests. Lots of denim and carhart but I don't think you'd be comfortable. I'm going to propose we reread some of the classics banned in Florida. We don't keep a wait list. It's not a country club.
