  1. trump fundamentally changed the face of the R party from alphas to deltas: Unattractive, unfit, uneducated. What hasn't changed is that they're boring. Last night D's did not appear boring.
  2. reflecting uncertainty for the upcoming election and the aftermath should trump lose.
  3. "If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.” Sartre referring to nazi's
  4. Do you know? I'm guessing it was the end of democracy and a looming autocratic theocracy.
  5. remember this when arguing with MAGAs “Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”
  6. Did some one put a gun to his head? Threaten to ruin his political career? What was the threat? Whatever strings were pulled, y'all should pull them on trump.
  7. It's not your party. It's ours. And we agree that he did the right thing. Rare but honorable.
  8. She was awesome. The prop is an allusion to a sacred book ie Theocracy. You got it subliminally even if you didn't realize it.
  9. Jason Isbell on now. Was supposed to headline a festival we had ticketsl for. He refused to come because masks weren't required at the event during Covid. We didn't go either. To their credit, the organizer refunded the tix. Don't know much of his music but I like drive-by truckers.
  10. I don't know who would ever assure you that anything in science is settled. Know one was saying that about covid.
  11. OK. You have significant and extensive knowledge on vaccines. What gives? As an aside, do you know how HPV was discovered to be an STD? Someones noticed that nuns almost never got cervical cancer. Science
  12. You've heard of a work in progress? That's what covid was for science. Many lives were saved through science. Effective vaccines, drugs, critical care developments collectively saved millions. I'm very happy they practiced an abundance of caution. Always a wise policy.
  13. they hate science especially when the findings don't match their ideology.

  15. I hope this excerpt from the piece is correct "If local officials refuse to certify results, “state courts will force them to do so,” says Rick Hasen, an election law expert at UCLA. In other cases, officials who refuse to certify will face fines and other penalties from state courts, or may be threatened with being removed from their positions, according to Derek Muller, a professor at Notre Dame Law School who has written about the issue of local certification of elections. The incidents of refusals to certify discovered by Rolling Stone “were localized, they were not particularly effective, and they were resolved relatively quickly,” Muller says. “It’s hard to think if that were a dress rehearsal for November that anyone would be very excited about the performance.” Still, widespread refusals to certify could generate fear and distrust in the system, and potentially inspire riots, according to Muller."
  16. His hold will end with a loss. Sadly, this is why a Jan 6 like event is likely. Of course, Kamala as VP will certify the election. So it'll probably take civil war. Hopefully the militant MAGAs will have learned their lesson that they would be sacrificial lambs.
  17. I’m not running for president or facing prison
  18. Even were he coherent, his shtick is stale and boring
  19. I have seen dementia 100s of times. What I’d seen before the debate didn’t worry me. The debate was convincing. I changed my assessment. More data, better ability to assess. Trump’s flight of ideas and memory have clearly worsened recently. More data, better ability to assess.
  20. His rallies demonstrate a symptom that can have several causes Flight of ideas is a thought disorder that can be a symptom of several mental health conditions, including: Bipolar disorder: During manic episodes, people with bipolar disorder may experience flight of ideas, which involves rapid, erratic speech that jumps between ideas and topics. Schizophrenia: Flight of ideas can occur during episodes of psychosis in people with schizophrenia. Anxiety: People may experience flight of ideas during periods of anxiety. Other conditions that may be associated with flight of ideas include: Some neurodevelopmental conditions, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease.
  21. Firstly, D's generally don't see Biden as "our guy". Most folks, including me, were very happy when he dropped out and let someone else carry the ball. The party of trump is fully invested in the man, the pos, the wanna be legend...Secondly, the patterns are different because the diseases are likely different. Biden has Parkinsons which is sometimes accompanied by dementia. While trump clearly has narcissistic personality disorder I believe he also has signs of early Alzheimers - incoherent rambling, short term memory loss, word finding etc...
  22. You mean 2 octogenarians can't simultaneously have cognitive decline? umm, yes. yes, they can and do.
  23. I don't live behind gates. I don't condone millions of immigrants entering illegally. There was this bipartisan bill to stem the bleeding. trump nixed it for political purposes...btw, I assessed Biden based on very limited observations. His Parkinsons was clearly deliberately hidden. And that sucks. trump's pathology is on ready display as he campaigns.
  24. hey moron. you answered. there's a similarly titled thread on Biden and no one complained. but disparage orange man and look out!
