  1. Bastages. I had to buy one, because my Bills Digest subscription still has three more years to run.... (although I did get a pretty good deal at the time, back when it was still Shout!...)
  2. OK, but who's Bob's designated driver? HB to our Fearless Leader, and I'll see y'all in a few hours!!
  3. Depends. Where are you going AFTER 20A? Getting on the 219? Trying to get to the Thruway?
  4. I'd agree with all three of those matchups, although I'm not positive Peyton would rank as my #1 QB leaguewide. Pats have a better TEAM, though, until proven otherwise. Colts get their chance tomorrow night.
  5. They're just trying to do their jobs... but with that said, I agree with you. Open letter to the media re: TH/WM: Neither guy wants to be a backup. That's already been established. Probably won't change any time soon, either. Now think up something else to ask them, instead of beating that horse carcass for another week or twelve.....
  6. That actually wouldn't surprise me - with people making money, their local gov't needs to find a way to get their "cut", right? What WOULD surprise me is if very many of those permit applications were denied. Deny one group of citizens, and that could open up a can o' worms for EVERYONE in town. Having some people over for a cookout, or your kid's birthday party? Better have a parking permit..... And if they tried to impose serious restrictions (like setting lot-opening times to match RWS), methinks that could end up in court for a long, long time. Then again, I also remember some of the Hammer's previous battles vs. the O.P. town board (like the time they were whining about a sign in his yard)..... so who knows?
  7. Poor Scott. Remember (early 90s) when he used to help out with Jim Kelly's show on 97 Rock, and his nickname was "Burnt Toast"?
  8. Now, I'm not familiar with their "open container" law (if they have one in O.P.)... but last I knew, the O.P.P.D. doesn't have the right to tell private landowners whether or not they can turn their yards into parking lots.
  9. Bills didn't re-sign him; neither has anyone else, far as I know.
  10. Ask, and ye shall receive. RTA runs a shuttle to all home Bills games; $15. Pickup at the Rte. 31F park-and-ride lot near SJF is four hours before kickoff; bus leaves the Ralph 45 minutes after the game. Better call and see if you can still get in. 288-1700, or 888-288-3777. http://www.rgrta.org/special-shuttles.html Otherwise, you could beg one of our Rochester-area Wallers for a ride, but quite a few of them will be heading west for the festivities on Saturday...
  11. As someone who carried his useless butt on my FFL roster for part of two different seasons, I fully concur. I mean, c'mon - he couldn't stay ahead of Arlen Harris ?!?
  12. Going to be tough - and it'll only get tougher, as guys like Jerry Rice and Marvin Harrison keep raising the bar for all modern-era WRs to get in. If you don't have good numbers combined with a Super Bowl ring or four - IMHO, Lynn Swann doesn't make it without the Super Bowl X MVP award AND the national TV gig - then your stats have to be un-friggin'-believable. The last five WRs to be elected to the Hall: *James Lofton, Class of 2003 (10 years after retirement) 16 seasons; 764 catches-14,004 yds-75 TDs; 8 Pro Bowls *John Stallworth, Class of 2002 (15 yrs. after retirement) 14 seasons; 537 catches-8,723 yds-63 TDs; 4 Pro Bowls; 4 SB rings *Lynn Swann, Class of 2001 (19 yrs. after retirement) 8 seasons; 336 catches-5,462 yds-51 TDs; 3 Pro Bowls; 4 SB rings, 1 SB MVP *Charlie Joiner, Class of 1996 (10 yrs. after retirement) 18 seasons; 750 catches-12,146 yds-65 TDs; 3 Pro Bowls *Steve Largent, Class of 1995 (6 yrs. after retirement) 14 seasons; 819 catches-13,089 yds-100 TDs; 7 Pro Bowls. Largent was also the career catches-yardage-TD record holder when he retired. That's it for the last fifteen years. Before them, you have to go back to 1988 to find the last WR elected, Fred Biletnikoff. IMHO, Andre Reed is going to wait a while to get into the Hall (although I think he'll eventually make it). And right now, Eric has a ways to go to even catch 'Dre.... Reed: 941 catches-13.095 yds-86 TDs; 7 Pro Bowls; 4 AFC Championships Moulds: 506 catches-7,237 yds-39 TDs; 3 Pro Bowls The competition (* = still active): *Jerry Rice - 1519 catches-22,466 yds-194 TDs; 13 Pro Bowls; 4 SB rings; SB XXIII MVP Cris Carter - 1101 catches-13,899 yds-130 TDs; 8 Pro Bowls *Tim Brown - 1070 catches-14,734 yds-99 TDs; 9 Pro Bowls Art Monk - 940 catches-12,721 yds-68 TDs; 3 Pro Bowls; 3 SB rings *Marvin Harrison - 759 catches-10,072 yds-83 TDs; 5 Pro Bowls Michael Irvin - 750 catches-11,904 yds-65 TDs; 5 Pro Bowls; 3 SB rings *Terrell Owens - 592 catches-8,572 yds-81 TDs; 4 Pro Bowls *Randy Moss - 525 catches-8,375 yds-77 TDs; 5 Pro Bowls Long story short: by the time he becomes eligible, if EM hasn't doubled his current numbers and/or added a ring or two, he'll be a borderline candidate at best. Just my opinion.......
  13. "Cognitive abilities?" You mean, like... -noting what QB you're playing against a certain week, and starting any WRs you have from that NFL team? -drafting defenses based on their potential matchups vs. bad teams during your league's playoff weeks? (Loving my Seahawks D at home vs. the Cardinals, the week of our Super Bowl.) Stuff like that? Or, you can just guess. That's what some of the people in my league do. And that's why I haven't had to pay the yearly entry fee - in fact, have gotten money back - for the last five years in a row....
  14. Nah... had to look up the stats.... Definitely remembered Brock stiffing us, though.
  15. Ummm.. nice sentiment and all, but it wasn't Dieter Brock, it was Vince Ferragamo. Brock turned down the Bills to sign with the Rams. That's how we got lucky enough to be able to trade for VF, for his single 5-TD, 17-INT season in Buffalo....
  16. UPDATE: Protected Holmes, Taylor, Jackson. Barlow went at the #1 pick in the draft (after all protections, so that would = the top of round 4). And even though I drafted last, I got both McNair and Moulds back....
  17. Considering Bannan's not likely to be here a week from tomorrow, I wouldn't consider that likely at all. Schmuck. Outta here - type at y'all from down Columbus way tomorrow. Maybe.
  18. Considering we'll most likely only have two QBs on the roster, d'ya think anyone would DARE start a "We want Matthews" chant the first time Drew throws an incomplete pass?
  19. Oh, dear Lord. Not this again........ Four years of arguing about this wasn't enough for some people, apparently. :runs screaming away from this thread:
  20. Right, Mike. At the June BBBC meeting, Denny Lynch told us that's the plan (the tunnel endzone, where the 12th Man sign is).
  21. Correct, Answer Man. Here's a relevant passage: "NFL rules allow teams to designate players as "Physically Unable to Perform." Once they are designated as such, they are prohibited from practicing with the team. They can, however, rehabilitate and participate in team meetings. If a player begins training camp on the PUP list, they can be moved to the active roster at any time, even after one practice. A player is not allowed to be placed on the PUP list if they start training camp on the active roster." http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/DET/5547626
  22. Thanx for the opinions, all. Right now it's down to my gut instinct as to whether or not the 49ers will be in enough games to get Barlow his carries, or if they'll be so horrendous that they'll be throwing the ball on every down after halftime...... it's between him and Jackson, because I seriously think the 'Squawks could be a Super Bowl team (with DJ being a big part of that offense). Flip-floppin' away on that. Ah well, still got almost 24 hours....
