We need our DT’s to hold the line. Poona and Settle are just ok. We cannot have Poona, settle and epenesa in at the same time against a run first offense.

I don’t see them resting their starters. The starters they don’t play will have a three week gap from when they last played until their first playoff game.

For mcd’s defense to work ( bend don’t break) you have to stop the run on first second down and get into 3rd and more than 6-7. We have needed a solid backup /rotational 1T for a few years. The lack of having one really stuck out during the bengals playoff game and is continuing to stick out now. Poona is only 5’10, not a 1T. Phillips has the body of a 1T but doesn’t play like one. Settle gets pushed around. Going back to Harrison Phillips/Kyle Williams they were smaller DT’s that got pushed back.

Barkley was ripping off runs on the second last drive in regulation with 4 minutes left. Brieda comes in and runs on 1st and 2nd down for minimal gain. They could have put the game away with a first down. Third down Barkley comes back in and is stopped for minimal gain. Punt. Why was Brieda in the game at that time?

We have needed a good backup 1T space eating run stopper since the playoff loss to Cincinnati last year. Loss of Milano hurts but losing Daquan Jones hurts more. Putting a 3T in to play 1T isn’t going to get us far into the playoffs.

Sherfield was above average in preseason, why did he only have minimal reps during game?

He blitzed the whole second level of the defense on that play. I agree we should be more aggressive compared to the last few years but there is no way Zach Wilson is driving 95 yards for a score

I would love to get it all done thru the draft while throwing in the towel on 2 first round draft picks after their rookie deals are done. We will need starters at RT,LG,WR2, RB, DT,MLB,S ,slot WR and backups at LB,S,OL,DT,QB.

So how do we replace all these starters. We have 1 safety under contract in Hyde. We saw what the lack of a starting slot looked like last year. We saw what Basham and Epenesa looked like( cut both) We need to bring back Lawson as a quality backup. Punter , we need one and he did great. We only have 5 OL signed for next year and we need depth/starters at left guard and right tackle. We saw what defense looked like without Poyer/Edmonds. Cut Hines ,Settle and McKenzie and then restructure some other contracts
