  1. Let me get this straight. You’re saying McD is a milk toasty middle age softie and his shtick is bland and uninspiring? That is the most comprehensive and accurate description of the Bills coach I have ever seen. Add in poor game plans and preparation and horrible in game decisions a failure to adapt and change play calling when teams are beating you and you have the current state of the Bills. They will never win a Super Bowl. I think it had more to do with Miami's big d line and lb’s were dominating the Bills o line and rb’s and it wasn’t working. The Bills had no answer.
  2. Well said. This group does not seem to care and just doesn’t show up to play some weeks. I blame McD for putting up with this crap and no vocal leadership on the team. Josh needs to quit being a yes man and sulking in isolation on the sidelines. Somebody has to rally the troops. The effort is clearly not there on game day and it’s unacceptable.
  3. I agree 100 percent. Josh needs to grow a pair and hold his teammates accountable when they are screwing up. Brady, Rodger’s, Peyton Manning, Drew Breeze, Marino,Kelly, all of them played with fire and got on their guys when the effort wasn’t there. I’m tired of Josh being Mr. nice guy and just sitting in isolation on the sideline sulking. I don’t even see any coaches or players talking to him. I never see him go up and down the bench rallying the troops. I get they are professional and shouldn’t need a pep talk but they are human and complacency sets in when nobody seems to care. It’s human nature. Sometimes they need a kick in the ass and McD isn’t going to do it. All he can do is clap maniacally after every bad play and call ill timed timeouts that result in bad plays.
  4. What are you talking about? The guy is a genius. He’s moved on from his complementary football quote to “2 dimensional offense”. It’s a very complicated and difficult offense where you run the ball and also pass the ball. McD is on it! Don’t worry.
  5. McDermott is a defensive coach. In his mind it makes sense to run a ball control run first offense. If it works your win percentage goes way up. You control the times of possession and limit the possessions for your opposition. It worked last year and in the pass happy modern nfl it actually looked like the Bills were ahead of the curve in running heavy personal against faster smaller defensive players. The problem is the Bills defense has smaller lighter lb’s and lineman so it works against us also. Only problem is our smaller lb’s and db’s are also slow. Now we can’t stop the good passing teams and we could never stop the good running teams. McD doubled down on the run first, time consuming offense to protect his weak defense to try to keep his injury riddled small slow defense off the field. It didn’t look good but it was working against crappy teams and the Bills had an easy schedule against weak teams. Now they can’t switch gears and turn on the up tempo pass game when they fall behind and teams have figured out their weak offense. McD will always have a defensive philosophy and won’t hire or let an OC run a high powered pass offense even though they have MVP Josh Allen now only handing the ball over and throwing lateral screens. It’s sickening. Teams have figured the Bills out. They aren’t good enough to just impose their will and run into 8 man fronts and they have no one to stretch the field and all the throwing lanes are cluttered up with defenses cheating up. They can’t beat the blitz and there isn’t even room for Josh to run anymore. He is neutered.
  6. It was quite obvious after the first 2 drives that the Bills were totally unprepared to play. Looked like they did no prep and had very low energy across the board. Everyone was kind of jogging around going through the motions. Defense was on their heels watching teammates try to tackle instead of hustling to the play and helping. What’s discouraging is they never could snap out of it. Never showed any fire or emotion. Almost like they didn’t want to be there. Does anyone that studies film know what plays the Bills go to when they are blitzed? The only play I ever see is the quick sideline screen to Shakir and teams know that’s coming now. Why is it so hard for this team to run screens to rb’s? The Bucs are going to stack the box to stop the run and blitz. What are the Bills answers? They have had none thus far.
  7. Yes it’s over. This debacle is proof positive of that. This team has no heart or consistency. Just bad from management on down.
  8. “In 6 wins this year our team has looked completely different than in the 3 losses.” No it hasn’t. They played like dogcrap against the Ravens at the home opener for 3 quarters and we’re getting whipped. They beat the Saints but did not look good doing it. They barely beat the Dolphins the first game and always have stretches during games where they look terrible. Face it. This teams strategies and game prep are not good. Their roster is not great and when they don’t show up to play, this is what they are. They are going no where this year and frankly never will under McD. He lacks leadership. There is no passion on this team. No one is ever held accountable. How many times are they going to “watch the tape, learn from this, winning is hard, give the other team credit, we have to player better and stay in our gaps, every one has to do their 1/11th, we have to work harder. I could go on but these are the answers every time they don’t show and play horrible and it’s never going to change. I think Josh is the only one with enough clout to stand up and say something to change it but he never will. He just echoes McD’s coach speak generalities and doesn’t want to make any waves. Nice guys finish last. Brady Rogers, Peyton Manning, Drew Bledsoe, they demanded excellence from their teammates and held them accountable. Josh sits in the sidelines in isolation and pouts. I’ve never seen anyone talk to him or try to rally the troops to get them playing. It looks like it all pays the same the who cares if they win or not? It’s just a game and they are making a killing. Never going to win a championship with out some sacrifice and and out effort. This team is soft and it starts and ends with McD.
  9. There are a lot of horrible losses under McD. 13 seconds is the most inexcusable but they suffer bad inexplicable debacles every year where they just come out completely flat and unprepared to play with no real game plan. I’ve come to the realization that McD is not good and the Bills will never go anywhere under his leadership. This is a soft team that sometimes doesn’t show up to play and there is no excuse for it. I can live with a few bad losses if the effort is there and they have a few bad breaks or the other teams play really good but the 2-7 Dolphins who’s roster is depleted and has nothing to play for blows out the Bills without even playing that good proves this team just doesn’t try very hard at times. I blame McD for not having them ready to play from week to week.
  10. I didn’t have a problem with trying the field goal. It would have sealed the game and left no chance for Mahomes. I am not a fan of McD’s game management though. I don’t believe the Bills will ever win a Superbowl under McDermott. He has gotten better and more aggressive each year but he still crumbles under pressure when it matters most. Josh was playing extremely well against the Chiefs and McD neutered him to play it safe at the end. Probably the smart thing to do playing the odds but the Bills need a couple of go to plays to pick up first downs in situations like that. I hate running into a stacked line when they know it is coming. I also don’t like it when they do that at the end of blow outs with Trubisky in the game. Why not practice the offense and give some of the back up players and receivers a chance to run plays instead of handing it off to a rb who runs it between the tackles for a loss? And on defense with any lead he takes his foot off the gas and falls back into his safe zone defense with everyone sitting back on their heels waiting for the play to come to them. They should be in attack mode for 60 minutes. His scared conservative nature will not let him stay aggressive the entire game.
  11. You would think having a great running game would help the passing game. Defenses load the box to stop the run which opens the pass game for one of the best qb’s in the game. It’s not happening.Josh is not making them pay. It’s a combination of coaching, Josh, and lack of explosive receivers. I think it’s also McD. There are times the defense can’t stop anything and I think he tries to protect his defense by dictating a ball control run first time consuming offense. It limits the possessions and requires limiting penalties and turnovers which the conservative offense can’t overcome. If the Bills limit turnovers and penalties they are in every game. If Josh gets hit they win. The problem is Josh is struggling in this offense and seems to be regressing. Also it is boring and difficult to watch. McDermott and Bean have gone all in on defense and don’t have the cap room to improve the offense. They’ve handcuffed one of the best qb’s into being a game manager and it sucks.
  12. I’m afraid this is just what McD’s teams look like. There are no magical adjustments coming.
  13. Ive run out of patience and want McD gone if the Bills continue to flounder playing the easiest schedule they have had under McD. Carolina will be a good test. I’m afraid the tough games at home will be blow outs. The Bills look broken.
