Yes, the referees decided the game. They hadn't called that all night long when there's plenty of examples of it happening. They let them play. If you don't call it all night, you definitely don't call it on 3 down with less than two minutes to go. Referees must be consistent. You're fine with refs deciding games. I'm not.
-
Nonsense. You can't sit there and tell me that was a hold, when they never called that all night and you can certainly find multiple examples of it happening and much worse. Refs must be consistent. You're obviously OK with referees determining the outcomes of games. I'm not.

They aren't gimme plays though. Unless you have the line with the better push, I've seen that get stuffed many times.

Stefon Diggs - “I watched the game five times”
Billz4ever replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
You completely missed the point. The debate was that Diggs is the best receiver in Bills history. So another person brings up Reed and Lofton and that they're in the HOF. (And nevermind Lofton is in the HOF because of his stats with GB, not the Bills). So following that logic, that means Kelly is better than Allen simply because he's in the HOF. -
If we don't improve our O line and get some more weapons for Josh, Cincy showed us where this team's peak is and will continue to be.

I'm not saying it's fixed. I'm saying a very iffy call determined the outcome of a dang Super Bowl and that type of crap shouldn't happen, especially given they weren't calling that all night.

And he had the unfortunate luck of going against Brady and the Pats even though Philly played a good game and could've won had a few plays gone differently. Because we were all mostly convinced Dorsey was a Dabs clone. As the season went on, we quickly realized that wasn't the case. He's obviously not going anywhere, so all we can hope it that he learns how to tame Josh and play situational football.

Interesting photo by Bills twitter
Billz4ever replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think Ed is in that picture regardless, but Poyer and Edmunds not being visible is interesting. If he's back as anything other than part of the equipment crew next season, I may just snap and beat the crap out of my Bills Beanie Baby. -
Good lord. Anyone happy with the way that game ended is either a Chiefs homer or a closet Chiefs fan and from the beginning, I didn't care who won. Worst call I've ever seen considering it decided the outcome of a Super Bowl.
-
Not with them shape our D line was in the end of the season and certainly not with our current O line. It would've been ugly on both sides of the ball, just like the Cincy game.
-
There was none called to the best of my knowledge. That's what makes this one all the more worse and that one in particular was so weak, I would've had a problem with it if it happened during a regular season game where the game was already out of hand due to the score. The fact this happened in a Super Bowl and essentially decided the outcome is still shocking to me. Why? That kind of play goes back to the very origins of the game...controlling the line of scrimmage. If the defense can't stop it, it's because they're losing the battle in the trenches.

There are no moral victories when it comes to winning a title. You're either willing to do what it takes to win, or you're not.
-
And they are held to a FG there with the Eagles having plenty of time to either tie or take the lead if the refs don't inject themselves there. Let the game be decided by the players. The Chiefs D stops Philly, they win. Here, the refs determined the outcome.
-
So is it cheating the other times in the game they don't call it? If a referee is nothing else, the one thing they have to be is consistent. If they aren't, it destroys people's belief in their impartiality. If you don't call it all night, there's no way you call that one as weak as it was, on a 3rd down, which literally ended the game.
-
Please inform McD. I'm looking forward to the draft and dreading it at the same time.
-
They didn't call it all night. I've seen much worse not called. That call decided the game.
-
What? The Chiefs have to kick a FG and there's plenty of time for Philly to tie or take the lead with 2 timeouts.
-
The difference here is they hadn't called offensive or defensive holding all night long if memory serves, and now you're going to call it with a minute left in the game in one of the weakest cases of holding I've seen in awhile? Nah. Referees literally determined the outcome of this Super Bowl.
-
I see non calls differently than calls like that though. That gave the Chiefs a first down they didn't earn and it basically ended the game. That shouldn't happen in any game, nevermind the Super Bowl.
-
If Reid retires and Bieniemy gets picked up for a HC gig, the Chiefs are a much different looking team. If Reid were possibly thinking retirement though I think he would've let them know so they could possibly promote Bieniemy instead of him leaving too.
-
It really makes me mad to see their line and then think back to how often Josh is getting pressured almost as soon as he takes the snap in the gun.
-
How do you figure? KC has to kick the FG and there's plenty of time for Philly to either tie or take the lead. Worst call in NFL history. The outcome of the game was decided on that call, which hadn't been called all night if I remember correctly.
-
From your lips to McDs ears. Properly invest in protecting and getting weapons for the face of the franchise or be prepared to never have a realistic shot at a title again.
-
And we get to play both of them next season. Yay! I'm about tired of the Bills travelling to Arrowhead.
-
Say what? The flag came out on a 3rd and 8 I believe. They would've had to kick the FG and there would've been plenty of time for Philly to either tie or take the lead. That was a game deciding call in a Super Bowl. Horrible
