The Eagles beat the Chiefs by doing the opposite of the Bills
Einstein replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not even close to the Bills normal defense. We don’t play press (maybe 15 plays all year). I’ll see if I can add that counter feature to EinsteinFootball.com -

Great observation, but you may have to explain this for some people. this was happening a lot of the time they were running zone. and went run correctly, it really gives the benefit of both man and zone. -

Much worse. Mahomes actually played well despite Tampa’s pressure. He played awful yesterday. -

“soft man” says nothing of pressure. It means the corners played off the receiver. You have no idea what you’re talking about. -

Yeah that’s not accurate, unless they’re counting only deep backfield. The Eagles ran a ton of zone and man in the same play, which NeztGen is probably counting as zone only. -

They did a mix. They literally ran man and zone in the same play. And as the OP says, on key downs they went press man. Watch the 3rd and 4th downs. -

ah, yes, I meant to mention that too. That was key as well. -

We ran the same exact defense both times. Chiefs were ready for it the second time. -

Yes. And sometimes seemingly mid-play. But every time a key down came, they were running press man. -
You keep saying this but provide ZERO proof for it. The fact that they accepted the Bills deal means that the Bills had the best offer. Obviously. Since they wouldn’t have accepted the Bills offer if they had a better offer. You assume that a team below us trades to KC and you assume a team below us doesn’t take him before KC can trade up. It’s just a bunch of assumptions. There is zero proof KC gets the player they want if we don’t trade that pick.

That was the most shocking part of last nights game. The Eagles essentially came out and said “everything the Bills did last week, we are going to do the opposite”. Many fans are talking about the dominant Eagles d-line. They’re right. Talent plays a big part. BUT, part of the reason they looked SO dominant last night is because of the scheme the Eagles were running. Instead of playing soft man, like we did a lot last week, the Eagles pressed on nearly every play (where in man or zone) This made the Chiefs old/slow (Kelce/Hopkins) and small (Hollywood/Worthy) have to fight for every yard from the second the ball was snapped. This took away the quick passing game that Mahomes excelled with against the Bills. He HAD to hold the ball, because his receivers needed time to get open because they were being pressed at the line. It was that combination of the Eagles talent on D-Line, AND the coaching scheme making Mahomes hold the ball. It was the completely opposite of what we ran. And it rattled Mahomes something fierce. On the offensive side, they hit the flats REPEATEDLY. This made the Chiefs divert attention to the boundary and opened up the middle of the field for Hurts to run when the LB’s abandoned to cover the flats. It was a beautiful coaching job. Vic Fangio deserves major kudos. I was happy when Miami jettisoned home - he was not the problem there.

There is almost 0 chance that the Bills would have been down 34-0. Bills would have given them a better game, even if we lost.

Xavier Worthy: So far, not much more than a gadget guy
Einstein replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Some posters claim the Bills didn’t want McDuffie, but the fact that the Chiefs jumped the Bills to grab him is telling in my opinion. Regardless, it looks bad either way. The options are only: 1) The Bills wanted McDuffie and watched as the Chiefs outmaneuvered them. or 2) The Bills wanted Elam over McDuffie, which is a massive scouting blunder. -
The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
Einstein replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
it was really weird how Beane talked about Coleman at the end of year press conference. Beane typically does not throw players under the bus like he did. That was about as direct as you’ll ever see him. -
that comes down to philosophy as well, though. Howie Roseman, by far the best general manager of the league, is not afraid to take low character guys. He only cares about talent. Whereas our organization definitely stays away from most of those guys.

You’re missing the point. You and others keep saying “well worthy didn’t do this” or “it will be years before we know”. That has nothing to do with it!! The Chiefs could’ve drafted a back up water boy with that pick, and it still would’ve been a stupid trade. The player they picked is irrelevant to me. Yoi just do not trade with your nemesis!!! You don’t trade with your bully!!! You don’t give the team that always beat you, what they want!!! I am generally perplexed that some of you do not understand this concept. It’s NOT about Worthy!!! -

The equivalent of the bully taking your lunch money, pushing your head into the toilet, and then tossing you his half-eaten peanut butter and jelly sandwich in return. -

I can’t speak for others, but i’m not mad at the Bills not getting Worthy. I DONT WANT HIM. Im mad that they traded with the Chiefs. It doesn’t matter what player they picked the pick we traded them. You don’t deal with your enemies! You don’t give your bully what they want! -

*ringggg* *riiiiiinnnnggg* Beane: “Hello, Buffalo Bills draft room” Chiefs: “Oh, hey Brandon. It’s the Chiefs. You know, the team that has kept your club from the Super Bowl for the past half decade?” Beane: “What can I do ya for?” Chiefs: “Well, there is a player we want at your pick. Mind if we take him and hopefully make our ball club even better? As you know, we draft pretty well, so the pick is probably going to work out for us.” Beane: “Absolutely! That’s a great idea! Give me a couple minutes to do the paperwork and then you’ll be free to jump ahead of us and take the player you desire” Chiefs: “Wow, thanks Brandon. You’re pretty cool for a guy we beat all the time”. Beane: “Aww, shucks, thanks”. That’s how I like to imagine the conversation went. -

I don’t want Worthy. I don’t think he fits our offense. But it doesn’t matter! He could be a massive historic bust and it would STILL be a bad trade for the Bills. You don’t gift-wrap your archnemesis the player they desire!!!! You don’t give the team that routinely beats you in the playoffs, wha they want! You hang up when they call! -
You really don’t get it, do you? - It is not about the Bills having Worthy. I don’t want him! Worthy could be a massive historic bust and it wouldn’t have mattered. - You NEVER deal with your arch-nemesis. Ever. You don’t gift wrap the player they want to them. You don’t deal with enemies. - You say that KC still would have gotten him. According to WHO? The fact that they traded with us tells me that we had the BEST offer for them. They wouldn’t have taken a worst offer just to deal with us. We were their best offer. Summary: It’s not about the player. He could have retired after 1 game and I still would have said you don’t trade with your nemesis. You don’t GIVE YOUR BIGGEST COMPETITOR WHAT THEY WANT.
-
And Worthy has 2 TD’s in the Super Bowl… Never trade with KC ever again. Pegula should forbid it.

I’m obviously talking about the times when we do need it. Love innovative stuff.
