  1. His roster really isn’t great. He got them to overachieve last season. Though unprecedented, perhaps that is what should have happened.
  2. It was speculated. I believe there is a good chance that Allen has several undocumented concussions.
  3. The decline happened right after the hit mentioning in the first post. That’s the only reason I used it.
  4. That’s how I grow my weed! Here are the Packers grow lights:
  5. I believe you’re thinking of this play:
  6. Ask me again in an hour and my opinion may change. Shows how little I know 😂.
  7. Agreed. That is the most logical explanation. There is quite a stark contrast pre and post hit though.
  8. With 4:55 remaining in the 3rd quarter, Josh Allen stumbled forward and while on the ground, was hit in the back of the head by a very large and very heavy Quinnen Williams. The video of the hit is in the tweet below. Circumstantial evidence: 1) In the video, you can see Quinnen Williams land on Allens head area. Once Quinnen rolls away, Allen raises his head for a moment, and then lowers his head back down to the turf (perhaps trying to compose himself) before getting back up. 2) The very next play, Allen threw an interception into double coverage. 3) Prior to this hit, Allen was 21 of 25, 1 TD, 1 INT (84% passing) 4) After this hit, Allen went 8 of 16, 0 TD, 2 INT, 1 Lost Fumble (50% passing) Or it could also simply be coincidence. That is also possible. The video: Mods/@Simon - If this post is better suited within another thread, please feel free to merge. I just thought it was an interesting topic.
  9. I disagree. The offense scored 13 points in the first half. That's a pace of 26 points for the whole game. Against a top 5 defense. That is darn good.
  10. I think it is important to remember that Allen played really well in the first half. His meltdown didn't come until the second half, where he had 3 turnovers. Allen was 17 of 21 in the first half. 81% passing! He was being himself while still playing well. Something happened in the second half though. He went from 17 of 21 in the first half with a TD and INT, to 12 of 20 in the second half (0 TD, 3 turnovers).
  11. As I re-watch the game, I wish that new philosophy included a bit more pre-snap motion. We do not make defenses move or adjust at all. I feel like the crackhead skit on Dave Chappell, but instead of vying for more drugs, I just want the offense to move! It has been proven that pre-snap motion results in higher EPA per attempt. Watch the Dolphins game and they have Waddle and Hill and Mostert motioning all over the field. Defenses are constantly running to adjust. I’m a bit jealous. Allen’s EPA/play last season was 3x higher with motion than without.
  12. Seattle signed him to start. He is simply starting on the PS so they don’t have to release a player. He will elevated to the 53.
  13. I’m glad you posted this, because I thought I was the only one. I used to count down the days until the season started. This year? Meh. Don’t get me wrong - Once the game starts, i’m amped. But prior to that… nothing like last year or really any other year. In some ways, it feels like last season broke me. I’m hoping they can turn things around and I can regain my mojo.
  14. I know Warren Sharp stated that but I have no idea where he got his information from. PFF has Allen being pressured close to 50% of his dropbacks.
  15. I look forward to seeing Cook against any defense that isn’t the Jets. They are so fast and so good and I think Cook actually played fairly well considering Singletary averaged 3.0 yards per carry against the Jets in the first game last season. Cook averaged 3.8 last night.
  16. Perhaps we don’t have 3 full time linebackers. But if Dodson is so bad that he can’t come on the field for just 5 or 10 snaps a game when an opponents offense is in 13 personnel then I question why he has a spot on the roster.
  17. Offense Allen: 100% Dawkins: 100% McGovern: 100% Morse: 100% Torrence: 100% Brown: 100% Gabe: 94.2% Diggs: 84% Knox: 84% Kincaid: 80% (!!!) Cook: 59.4% Murray: 23.2% Harty: 21.7% Sherfield: 15.9% Harris: 13% Shakir: 10% Morris: 8.7% Gilliam: 5.8% Defense Bernard: 100% Milano: 100% Benford: 100% Tre: 100% Poyer: 100% Hyde: 98.2% Oliver: 70.4% (!!! - his highest percentage ever I believe) Taron: 68.5% Rousseau: 64.8% Floyd: 51.2% Daquan: 51.2% Lawson: 48.2% Epenesa: 35.2% Rapp: 33.3% Phillips: 31.5% Settle: 27.8% Poona: 18.5%
  18. I'm confident that he will have many sacks this year. I was concerned about him as a draft pick, but he looks primed for an excellent season.
  19. Sure. If you have an account, you can sort it here: https://premium.pff.com/nfl/positions/2023/REG/defense-run?position=LB "AVDT" is average depth of tackle. For those who don't have a subscription:
  20. Correct. Rapp played big nickel against 13 personnel.
  21. It is when the QB is accounting for 26% of the pressure. Therefore, the line accounted for 74%. An equal pressure rate per linemen would be 14.8% - Or 30% for two of them. 47% is highly disproportionate.
  22. We have done a wonderful job covering Allen, Dorsey, Cook, etc. Here are a few different items: 1) When the Jets went 13 personnel, McDermott put Rapp into game as a nickel CB to essentially play a LB role. This often resulted in our DB's getting easily blocked and once the Jets rusher made it past the d-line, it was chunks of yardage. The Jets led the league in Week 1 in EPA/rush while in 13 personnel as a result Thoughts on this strategy? Seems... not ideal. Shouldn't we be matching 13 personnel with 3 LB's - especially with an aging defensive backfield of Hyde (32), Poyer (32), and Tre (turning 29 this season)? 2) According to PFF, the RT (Spencer Brown) and LG (McGovern) accounted for a combined 47.4% of the pressures Allen faced. Nearly half of the pressures came from these two positions. Josh Allen accounted for 26.3% of his own pressures. Brown, McGovern and Allen were responsible for iover 70% of the pressure. The other 3 players on the line faired very well. 3) Bernard was better than many (including myself) thought. His average depth of run-tackle was only 1 yard. Same as Milano. 4) Lastly, just for fun, how do you feel the game would have unfolded if Rodgers hadn't been injured? Do we lose by multiple scores? Do we perhaps do better, knowing that we have to be more careful?
  23. I agree. I fully recognize that it sounds ridiculous and there is little (or perhaps zero) precedence for it, but we should have let McDermott go and kept Daboll.
  24. I'm not really certain what the "process" is anymore. We have gone through 5 different coordinators (3 OC, 1 DC, 1 ST) and the high point is still getting blown out in the AFC Championship Game 3 years ago.
