  1. Another playoff collapse that is coaching centric. For example, no-one can say the Bills didnt have the talent (Beane's job) to beat the Chiefs in the 2021 AFC Divisional. But due to several coaching errors, we lost a game where we led with 13 seconds left. From not squibbing the ball, to playing 15 yards off of every KC receiving target, it all comes down to coaching. Thankfully we squeeked by the 4th-string-QB Dolphins in the wild card round, because im not 100% sure McDermott makes it out unscathed if we lost that game.
  2. We may just see who is right next year (hope not).
  3. Oh I think Beane would get to stay...
  4. A lot of people will poo-poo this, but I too think McD's seat is warmer than most realize.
  5. The 1990 Bills were one kick away from a Super Bowl title. They surely thought that a trophy was right around the corner too.
  6. Given our lack of attention to the MLB position, this may in fact be our strategy.
  7. Are we really going to pretend that the 8-9 Packers were a good team?
  8. I wouldn’t touch this with a ten foot pole. The Bills schedule is incredibly tough (at least based on last years teams). Our division alone is capable of handing us 3 or 4 losses.
  9. Is this even a discussion? Brady is wayyyy ahead of Mahomes.
  10. Their final 4 games were against non-playoff teams like Chicago, Carolina, Jets, Packers. That helps.
  11. You’re welcome.
  12. Josh got injured on the second to last play of the game. It was literally the play before the hail mary. You’re blaming the loss on THAT? The offense put up 30 points. You’re saying the defense was a dumpster fire, giving up nearly 500 yards, because of Allen’s elbow injury? While barely squeeking by the likes of Detroit and Miami. I haven’t seen this many excuses since {omitting this part since it’s not the politics forum}
  13. This ignores the fact that the Bengals were down multiple O-linemen that day too.
  14. There are many posters who write-off the Bengals game as a fluke. They ignore the Dolphins game the week before. And the start of the Bengals game in Week 16. etc, etc.
  15. Yeah I don’t think most people remember that Mahomes was thought of as a high 2nd or low 1st round pick up until a few weeks before the draft and he was no where near a top 12 pick until the draft itself.
  16. It was definitely a bit of a reach at the time… USA Today gave the Chiefs a C- for picking Mahomes. “Calling Mahomes a project is a major understatement. He’s nowhere near ready to play in the NFL.” SB Nation: “My grade on what Kansas City did in this draft is due to my opinion that they gave up way too much to trade up for quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the first round.” Sporting News: “Trading up for Mahomes, a big-armed gunslinger who really doesn’t mesh with the true mentality as Alex Smith’s successor, set up a bad tone in this draft.”
  17. Sorry for the confusion. I was talking about the playoff game where they started a 3rd string QB and we won by only 3 points.
  18. Not saying you’re wrong but I reallyyyy hope our season doesn’t rely on a 34 year olds knee recovering to perfection.
  19. Im not talking about a slide. Mahomes was listed in the 30-40 range on most people’s draft boards. Example:
  20. No one made this claim and I think it shows you didn’t read the original post.
  21. Chiefs lost Frank Clark, Thornhill and Wylie this off-season. Chris Jones is also headed into the final season of his contract, so they’ll either have to re-sign him to a gigantic deal next year or franchise him. Cinci may be the new team to beat going forward, but having Mahomes always gives the Chiefs a chance.
  22. Belichick has almost the same winning % against NON-divisional opponents than he does against the AFC East. Through 2021: Against AFC-East: .718 Against rest of league: .719 You’re right. Thank you.
  23. I was talking about the game that happened literally the week before the Bengals game. Not a Week 4 regular season game like the Chiefs and Colts. The Dolphins, with their 3rd string QB, took the Bills down to the final seconds in the playoffs, and we were at home! Dolphins we’re around midfield, down only 3, and having put 31 points on the board, with a couple minutes left in the game. That was just a week before the Bengals blasted us. If the Bengals game was an aberration, what was the Dolphins game just a week prior?
  24. Yeah I think that’s probably true. McDermott is a more aggressive situational play caller. But the defensive philosophy is the same. Yeah if it’s “luck”, then the Patriots had a lucky horseshoe up their arse for two decades.
