In honor of opening weekend, I thought it’d be fun to share our most memorable opening games with each other. Mine is 1989 against the Dolphins. The Bills were down 24-20 with under two minutes to play and no timeouts. They started their drive at their own 49 yard line, thanks to a Nate Odomes interception. Several plays later, and with the clock ticking away, Kelly hits Reed around the four yard line. TICK, TICK, TICK, TICK (Chris Berman voice)! Kelly spikes the ball with 2 seconds left. A penalty by the Dolphins moves the ball a bit closer. Most know what happens next. Kelly runs in and scores the winning TD!!! Two things of note -That play became so popular that they came out with a Jim Kelly figure with him describing the play (yes, I had the figure) -Most importantly, this win ended up deciding the division as the bills finished first at 9-7 and the Dolphins finished 8-8 What’s your most memorable opener?

14-3 with a serious SB run. Woohoo! Go Bills!

I just have to say that it’s great to have these game threads back. It means that Bills football is back. That. Is. All. Go Bills!

So the defense isn’t a top three unit where they stop everything all the time. It doesn’t mean they suck though.

It may keep the “defense sucks” crowd at bay. Actually, who am I kidding, it probably won’t.

That was a nice progression from fromm looking at many of his receivers and staying in the pocket.

I love what Beane said about not wanting it to be too easy to decide on your roster when you cut it down because that means you didn’t do a good job on your roster in the first place. We have an excellent GM! Not that we didn’t know that already though.

We couldn’t attempt an extra point because of a bad snap. That’s why we only have 13 points.

Two goal line stands and an interception. Not bad for a defense that supposedly sucks. I realize that they’ve given up yards though.

I know the Packers have some yards but a goal line stand and an interception is not a bad way to start for the bills defense.
