  1. What is so crazy about that? Kitna had a real good year last year as a starter. Who is better? Kitna had a lot better year than Kerry Collins and it is likely that Gannon is done and that Kitna is a starter. If you gave me a choice of all the 2nd QB's in the league to play for me for one year, I would probably pick Kitna.
  2. Well, at least if the Bills don't make the playoffs and their is an Indy/NE rematch you have just given me someone to root for. It is too bad that Boston fans who I actually felt sorry for at one time because of the frustration of the Red Sox and Patties have decided that smug and arrogant is the way to go. What goes around comes around.
  3. What has been lost in all this statistical analysis of Drew has been the weather conditions we have been playing in. I never remember a season where we played more games in windy, cold conditions. It goes all the way back to the Miami game in October, the Arizona game was miserable and it wasn't too pleasent for the Cleveland game either. I believe that a couple of other games were also played in windy conditions Have you noticed the coincidence that in those games our pass defense looks great and our passing offense looks terrible. And then in Miami when there were perfect conditions, magically, Drew improved but our pass defense declined. Throwing in those conditions is tough. Not to take anything away from Manning, but he could never put up those numbers outside in inclement weather. Drew is no savior, but let's at least judge him compared to what the visiting QB does in the same conditions.
  4. I beleive by that criteria, Mike Holmgren has been a successful personnel guy at Seattle (who will make the playoffs) and Donohoe has been a failure. I am going to look at the overall strength of our roster, our draft picks, our undrafted free agents, our free agent pick ups, our salary cap situation and his choice of coaches. He has turned this franchise around in three years. Except for the choice of Greg Williams, I give him high passing grades in each of the categories. This team is poised for another nice run at success. We weren't anywhere close 3 years ago. Trying to turn things around in one year because you have the patience of a 3 year old (not you, but some of the posters here) is exactly what the Redskins have done. You can't do it in the NFL with the salary cap. We obviously have a playoff caliber team right now but because of some bad breaks in the first 4 games are likely not to make it, but I am thrilled at the job done by Donohoe and Modrak and have great hopes for the next few seasons.
  5. When I saw the title of the post, I thought you were talking about all the "fans" on here that wanted Donohoe fired in October. You still want him gone?
  6. I'm with you!!! And I want it to be in the third quarter and involve Kevin Faulk on a 2nd down swing pass and then I'm ready to say DE doesn't need to be addressed.
  7. It is why we don't get quite as excited about 3 down years when you see the talent improving. There were so many years without hope.... Believe me, even Bledsoe looks good.
  8. Except for the OJ years and Chuck Knox. Brief moments of Camelot in the darkness
  9. I can't tell you dates, but the names Harvey Johnson and Stew Barber will give your Dad chills.
  10. Gene Sykes - generic white safety Preston Ridelhuber - halfback option pass and Heidi game Jim Cheyunski - two INT's first game - nothing after that Dan Darragh - not much of a QB but a fine Environmental Attorney O'Connor, Lucas and Chelf - anybody old enough to recognize that?
  11. I can't believe after the start of this season that the Bills are still alive on December 10. I just want them to beat Cleveland. The worst we will be is one game out with 3 weeks to go. I don't expect this team to be able to go to the Super Bowl anyway, but I see the potential for a real run over the next few years. For all those who wanted to fire Donohoe, remember this the next time you want to knee-jerk react after some close losses.
  12. It has been said that when things go good the QB gets too much credit and when things go bad, he gets too much blame. There is so much focus on the QB position but the other 10 guys out there with him have as much to do with his success or failure than individual talent of the QB. Think it was a coincidence that Joe Monata had Jerry Rice, Daunte Culpepper has Randy Moss, Peyton Manning has Marvin Harrison. That does not even mention Edgerrin James, all-pro lineman and great talent surrounding them. Sheesh, what a shock, Bledsoe looks better with a little oline stability, McGahee behind him and Lee Evans learning the pro game and stepping up. Without those factors in place, whoever played that position was not going to be able to step up. Quit fixating on the quarterback. The Ravens won with Dilfer, the Colts have never won with Manning. Losman will only look as good as the talent that surrounds him. The same is true with Bledsoe. But, whoever thinks that a QB switch is a miracle cure without the other improvements falling in place is in for a major disappointment.
  13. I am not talking to you either AD. You hear me, I am not responding to your posts. Do you think I am some kind of fool to respond to you. No siree, not me, not now, I am not responding. I will not reply in a boat. I will not reply in a moat. I will not respond in a plane, I will not reply on a train. I do not like that Stevestojan, I do not like him ol' Darin. I do not like that BF guy, I do not like his Artest cry.
  14. Do his officail adoption papers show him to be the son of Panama Red and Axis Sally?
  15. Darrin - let me guess, you are some sort of reactionary, right-wing genius holed up in a hovel somewhere between Anchorage and Seward with automatic weapons and one tremendous and sick sense of humor. Am I close?
  16. This may be the saddest thing I have ever read on this board. I always wondered who these people were.
  17. Without looking it up how many more times have the Bills been sacked than our opponents?
  18. In 162 carries, Willis has not fumbled. No one in the NFL has that many carries without a fumble. All the running backs with more carries (up to Clinton Portis 238 attempts) have 2 - 4 fumbles except for Curtis Martin and Tiki Barber who have one apiece. I love that stat.
  19. Why do I have the feeling that if they gave Ice a Rorschach Test (the one where you have a random ink spot design), Ice would clearly see Drew Bledsoe screwing his mother.
  20. At least while the Bills are mediocre... The Dolphins may be the worst team in football Dallas sucks, with the double bonus that Bill Parcells has that cocky smirk knocked off his face Joe Gibbs and the Redskins are awful. Without all the talent he is just another coach. Any year that we are better than Miami, Dallas and Washington is not a total disaster.
  21. Anybody but Drew.. Anybody but Gilbride... Anybody but RJ... Anybody but Wade... Anybody but Donohoe... Anybody but Walt Corey... Anybody but Mike Williams... Anybody but Pucillo... Anybody but Johnny Pitts... You get the idea.
  22. I did not get to go to the game today but made the last 3 wins at home. However, it was not surprising that both Bledsoe and Bulger looked a lot more effective today than in the monsoons that prevailed in those games. No one could have looked effective in those 30 mph winds. I am not apologizing for Bledsoe (there was no wind versus New England), but I do not remember a series of home games with worse conditions (of course, there were individual games that were worse). Our defense is not quite as good as it looks and our offense is not quite as bad as it looks. Picture this team in a dome. Think the stats would be different right now?
  23. In some ways I enjoy the old days when the only Bills fans on Earth were those that grew up with them. Not some front-runners that liked them when they had Jim Kelly and were winning. Does the term "Cowboys" ring a bell? Thanks for the thoughts. I need to adopt your attitude but I have been hanging around this board for a long time and get disappointed when folks are ready to run them out of town. Everything else has left Buffalo. Please not the Bills.
