So, like, sarcasm is a thing....

I don't think we need 3 new running backs, no. I don't think I have ever said that either.

I am in the Singletary is not good enough a RB to do what the Bills need him to do camp. I think it is difficult to have a good NFL backfield with two slow shifty guys. Moss has some more physicality to him than Devin, and for whatever reason it looked like Moss also is a little more explosive. I find DS hesitant at times as well. I thought Moss was the better back in 2020.

I am most certainly not rooting for Singletary's failure. In fact, I am very much rooting for his success at the moment since he is still part of the RB stable. I don't know a ton about Brieda, so as far as I am concerned DS is still very much the lead horse in the running for RB1. "I told ya so's" are worth much less than wins to me. But it is an internet message board, so I have done the message board thing and have (gasp) given my opinion on some of the players on the roster at times even if they are at times unfavorable.

    Sorry to offend Mrs. Singletary.

Scoffing at dumb critiques makes someone the player's mother, does it?

And yes, I'm aware that post was supposed to be sarcastic, I just thought it was weird that you'd post something you desire in a sarcastic tone, Mrs. Breida or whoever you want to replace Singletary with, even though the problems with the run game were like 80% because of the OL.

Yeah I'm going to add that he's a running back where you use your legs a lot, so he probably isn't skipping out on training his primary muscle group.

Christ, some people here seem to actively want Singletary to fail. How much weight did he add, if any? Does anyone even know before they start crying about how he'll be heavy and slow?

Mahomes crapped himself to the tune of 300 yards, 3 TDs, and no turnovers for a 117 QB rating against the Patriots.  Now I’ll grant you that he was confused by the NE defense in the first half, but he adjusted and put up 31 points in the second half.  It’s hard to beat a team by 3 TDs when that team scores 37 points.

Allen couldn’t get anything going at all until mop up time after it was 38-15 in the 4th quarter.  Buffalo didn’t make any offensive adjustments because there weren’t any built into the offense.

I remember being on the other end of that during the Marty Schottenheimer days.  The KC offense was incredibly basic, and come playoff time, Denver was literally calling out our audibles pre-snap and pointing to where the ball was going before we even snapped the ball.  Had our offense been more innovative, we could have taken advantage of their aggressiveness with option routes and such, but Elvis Grbac wasn’t capable of running a complex offense, and Paul Hackett wasn’t exactly Bill Walsh.

Daboll runs a system based on a complex offense, but he’s simplified it substantially.  You don’t see a lot of option routes.  There aren’t a dozen different ways he disguises screen passes.  He does mix up the formations a decent amount, but there aren’t a ton of shifts that confuse the defense.  It’s a very vanilla version of what Brady was running in NE.  It still works well because Josh has physical gifts that Brady doesn’t have, but when it’s not working, it’s not like you can just make a bunch of halftime adjustments the way Payton and Brees could or Reid and Mahomes can.  I think you’ll see that develop a bit as Josh continues to learn the position.  He’s still growing as a QB, and right now he still looks like an athlete playing QB at times.  As the game continues to slow down for him, I think he’ll look more like a QB who happens to also be a gifted athlete.  If that happens, he’s going to wear a gold jacket some day.

?? Diggs and Beasley run option routes pretty frequently. What are you talking about?

It's pretty simple. Josh couldn't find targets because his best receiver had a torn oblique and his second best had a broken leg. They couldn't create separation.

We lost the AFC Championship game because:

    * Their OL man handled our DL giving all the time for Mahomes to get to the receivers

    * Their DL man handled our OL making Josh run around for his life, taking bad sacks.

    * Our OL provided no help to the running game to shorten the game and take the pressure of Josh

    * Our DL provided no help in keeping the QB (a hurt one) under check.

I think the Bills saw the issue and shored up both the lines.   Their theory - Improving the lines will help fix their weakness in the Run game and getting after the QB

Josh was also taking forever to throw the ball because none of his WRs could get open because all of them were injured.

He never showed pop during his charade with the Mets.  He sucked from day one.  Not quite Michael Jordan bad, but damn close.

He's not trying to elongate his career.  He is selfishly blocking others' opportunities because he craves the attention and is getting paid to generate buzz for the team (Mets and Jags).

I think most former players have more pride than that and know when it's over/when to give others a chance to make their mark.

He's not a long shot.  He's a no shot.  Everyone, including him and Urban Meyer, knows that.

So who cares?! If you really think that Tim freaking Tebow is going to be taking opportunities away from actual good NFL calibre tight ends, I dunno what to tell you.

Obviously, you have your opinion, and I'm not sure what he did to you. Whatever, I guess.

There a few mornic NFL media member who have said the NFL should release parts of the schedule weekly. I think given how fans, media, and cities need the schedule to plan out for the games they can't do something to that magnitude, but I am still expecting something dumb and money driven in the future.

That is impressive I would like to see your list. TNF use to be easier when it was all division games minus the opener, they still have some emphasis on division but it is more spread.

Maybe Roger should have teams draft their own schedule over 3 or 4 days from a pool of teams. He could stuff tons of commercials in that. Give each team a 10 minute window.

What's ridiculous is that people actually thought the Mets "invited him to training camp," because he was really a legitimate prospect.  What's more ridiculous is that people actually believe that Urban Meyer thinks Tebow, who's been out of the NFL for NINE YEARS and has never played TE, is a legitimate prospect.

He's a sideshow.  And his presence is absolutely keeping a REAL football player from being there.

Probably to their benefit, considering the Jags are awful, and seem to be run by idiots.

You're placing blame in the wrong places. You're absolutely right, Tim Tebow being signed as a TE after being out of football for so long and never having played the position is ridiculous. Ultimately, that's what the Jaguars decided to do, whether it's because of his work ethic, locker room presence, or because they are stupid morons (likely). If you're blaming Tebow for wanting to play in the NFL, idk what to tell you. He's not the one who decides if he gets signed or not.

Who, developmentally, did Tebow hurt with the Mets? Some org guy? Every team at every level has 30+ year old guys there who basically act as filler, from short season to AAA. Tebow was basically just a more notable version. Again, the Mets decided to try him. He showed some pop, they figured, why not? Worst case, he sucks and they eventually cut ties with little risk.

I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would be upset with Tebow for trying to do whatever he can to elongate his career in pro sports. It's not like the Mets signed him as their starting LF. He had to start in low A. Here, he's basically a long shot in training camp on a ***** team. Where's the harm?

His dream was over years ago.  Now he's just a carnival act, getting paid to sell merch and put butts in seats while the games don't count- to the detriment of actual aspiring pro football and baseball players. He's a selfish prick and always has been.

Is this a joke? How does ONE guy affect aspiring players? If a player is good enough, he plays. His fate has nothing to do with Tebow.

Is there an age limit for when it's mandatory to give up? Your stance is so ridiculous.

Grind or another publicity stunt? That is all I think of when Tebow did things was "Another publicity stunt of Tebow now playing with the Mets"

Sorry, if you're pushing yourself through minor league baseball on that measly salary, you're grinding. I understand Tebow is pretty annoying but you can't deny the guy works his ass off to make something of himself, even if he'll end up failing.

    2 hours ago, Gugny said:

It's not a grind.  It's accepting that he's a carnival sideshow to make money during the preseason.  As a Mets fan, I know this all too well.  He's a joke.  The last thing he was good at was college football and he's been ***** himself out since he graduated.

So he should have just given up on everything? You can find Tebow grating, I do, but I guess he should have just given up on his dreams of becoming a pro athlete because you found him annoying.

Because they’re on the cusp of a championship and Ertz will push them over the edge. They should def drop big $ on a TE that’s on his last legs.

Agreed. Now that they addressed the non-issue at running back, it's time to throw the chips in. Maybe they are hoping Ertz is enticed because they have similar jersey colours #TealWithIt

Browns didn’t have a guy in the top 35 last year😂😂

OBJ is so overrated. If you can't stay on the field, then you can't put up stats. Even when he's healthy, he whined if he's not getting like 50% of passes thrown his way. The Browns did not miss him at all last year.

Landry is a nice player but elite? Come on.

I'm also surprised by the lack of Beasley love in here. That guy is absolutely elite at what he does. Him and Diggs can go up against pretty much anyone.

Honestly, I’m more worried than ever about our guys having enough gas in the tank for another deep playoff run.  Our receivers were the walking wounded at the end of last season.  There are 17 regular season games this year.  I hear the talk that no one is healthy at the end of a football season but it seemed to me that our offense’s complete reliance on the passing game potentially correlated to an increased chance for our receivers to be injured, which they were.  I sincerely hope that we have enough horses in the barn to make a deep run.  I also hope we achieve a better offensive balance this year.

How about that it sucks that they both got injured at the wrong time and that "running da ball" likely wouldn't have changed that? We saw when Beasley got injured, but not Diggs. For all we know, it could have happened executing a block or even off the field. Injuries happen in the NFL all the time, we just got unlucky with both the severity and who they affected. I'm not keen on using this as an excuse to run the ball more.

My favorite time of the year in the NFL has come in the offseason. Every year I predict the Bills schedule in terms of games, times, weeks, primetime etc.. I look at past seasons including the last time we played that NFC division as the NFL does base some TV decisions on what they did before to be fair to teams and TV partners. Next week on the 12th at 8:00 pm the NFL will be releasing the schedule and with fans back in full this year I know this is going to be the most anticipated season in really long time.

In regards to the schedule itself things should swing back to normal with how it is created. WGR's Sal C had a great interview with Mike North who is the VP of Schedule making in the NFL. Last season the NFL tweaked things where every team opened home or away with division opponents the first two weeks due to COVID incase things needed to be changed. The overall schedule itself was created with the ability to move entire weeks etc.. so it was not a normal year minus the division games finishing the season. Some highlights from the interview on how the schedule is created of interest to Bills fans are the following:

-Opening Night already draws a huge audience so going with a blueblood matchup like BUF-TB isn't necessarily the best move because you can save it for a week later in the season for a bigger audience then opening night as it already is higher in viewership

-Networks are all fighting for the big games like KC-BUF, KC-GB, NE-KC, so they absolutely are put in prime spots, but where those spots are can vary so the NFL is fair to its TV partners

-Sometimes matchups like NE-TB which already have a story are put earlier in the season as opposed to later when NE possibly could be out of it. That rings the same with NE-BUF where he said an early matchup could be on primetime where their is still intrigue

-On the flip side division games ending the season is the way to go and the NFL isn't moving away from that. He brought up the idea of NE coming to BUF or vise versa for a division show down to end the season on primetime

-The Bills have turned into a tent show that people want to see. People may like the 1:00 pm games out of convenience but now that the Bills are a draw get ready for a similar amount of attention this year with night games and prime spots

-There will be 17 games and the Bills will host Washington as the matchup is a Conference Cross Over based off where you finished in your division

OK with all of that said lets get to my schedule I made. For those wondering last year I got one week perfect (SF), two opponents correct (SF/MIA week2), quite few games a week off (Seattle week 8 I had week 7 for insistence), and in general was much closer then some years. Here is my prediction for 2021-22:

                   Opponent            Time

    Week 1    IND                      1:00 pm

Week 2   at NE                   Sunday Night Football

    Week 3   ATL                      1:00 pm

Week 4   PIT                       Monday Night Football

Week 5   at JAX                  1:00 pm

Week 6   NYJ                     Thursday Night Football

    Week 7         BYE

Week 8      at TB                   Monday Night Football

    Week 9     MIA                     1:00 pm

Week 10    at NYJ                1:00 pm

    Week 11    CAR                    1:00 pm

Week 12    at NOLA            4:25 pm

Week 13    at KC                  Sunday Night Football

    Week 14    WSH                  1:00 pm

    Week 15    HOU                   1:00 pm

Week 16    at TEN               Saturday Flex in Game 1 of 3

Week 17    at MIA                1:00 pm

Week 18    NE                      Potential to be SNF flex in game for division

I do think the Bills are in the conversation for opening night, but like Mike said I believe its a game the NFL saves for higher viewership later on. Additionally I think one of the Bears (drafting Fields) or Dallas (going to TB) will be the the opener as they both are strong markets. I think the NFL finally gives the Bills Chiefs the SNF viewing platform people have wanted. Buffalo has routinely done well in the Saturday flex window spot late in season and I see that happening again. The NE home game week 18 I can really see being viewed by TV partners as a battle of the division crown potentially and make it so it can be the closing SNF. I do not think that happens as I think the Bills are a game or two better then NE, but TV partners will view it otherwise. Technically the Bills are opening at home for a second straight year, but when you become a better team the NFL gives more wiggle room. The Bills have preferred 1:00 pm games as a franchise and this still maintains six of the nine games being at 1:00 pm with the NE finale the only when that could flex.

I have typed enough let me know what you think:

    Schedule mock drafts.

Boy, the NFL milks everything. Goodell would monetize his own mother if he could.

Wouldn't they think "it's not much worse than Chicago"? NYC and Chicago is what I was going for, but I haven't been to either one and I know that, like Buffalo, the weather in Toronto is incorrectly represented. Both of those cities have huge markets and, while all the teams representing them suck now, they are normally desired destinations for players.
