  2. new band just breaking through the air waves, Heron Oblivion...kind of trippy psychedelic rock. pretty interesting sounds
  3. yeah, so what?
  4. i couldn't see the picture when i opened the link, but how do we know the kid wasn't praying not to end up like the homeless guy? You and I can sit next to each other in that bucket
  5. i agree, but there was nothing owed, this was a nice quid pro quo, wouldn't have faulted him for going somewhere else for money
  6. neither side owed the other side anything, but well played on both sides. this is awesome!
  7. Ray Lamontagne was just added to Artpark on 6/29, also Noel Gallagher on 7/6
  8. Jon Lovitz is one of my guilty pleasures, he cracks me up
  9. Hopefully you've heard of Ray LaMontagne, he's got a unique voice and is usually geared more towards an acoustic set than a full rock sound, but saw him last friday perform his new album, produced by Jim James and backed by the rest of MMJ. What a show, trippy, rocking tunes, very experimental stuff, you can definitely hear MMJ's influence on this album and his live performance. this is the link to the video of the same song but the performance I was at http://www.vuhaus.com/videos/ray-lamontagne-hey-no-pressure-world-cafe-version this is the late show version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HukIAJjCFUM
  10. when was he high on bath salts, I don't remember that episode :-)

  13. in and of itself, who cares, but wikipedia has a funny update
  14. mine was Andy Gibb, but it was because of a girl(still the love of my life 40 years later that never materialized)
  15. Archer & Bob's Burgers are the best on right now
  16. They are spanking golden state
  17. i think this team is built for a tournament, they can put together a brutal 5 game stretch based soley on defense. but they need to get in first and get their heads out of their asses. not sure they get in without a deep run into the acc tourney
  18. Great, now he'll end up in New England and torch us at least 2-3 times every year! Thanks a lot, Bin Laden!
  19. i probably told it before, but i worked a bar in syracuse and Greg Allman was playing there the next night(his I'm no Angel album tour). We are closed 2-2:30AM when there's a knock on the door, it's him and his crew coming to check out the venue, we wind up sitting at the bar with him listening to him talk for a few hours. I wasn't a fan at the time, but what an experience. next night the show is preparing, i'm at the front door and these long hairs walk up...i look at them crooked and sheepishly say "you guys are kansas", i motion for them to follow me. I take them to our Lighting area which also doubled as a "VIP" area. I tell them to let me know anything they need and I will be at their beck and call. Night ends they are thanking me up and down, i tell them to not thank me as I don't have tickets to their show the next night at a different venue. they tell me they will put me +3 on the list, sure enough show up there's my name, walk into a crowded lobby, from across the room the road manager yells my name and gives me a thumbs up....probably the greatest rock and roll couple of days I have EVER had
  20. i only read a headline earlier this week so i don't know if it was a satire site, but did Rob Zombie get harrassed or arrested outside the Oscars last week? I am gonna see if I can find the story...something about being mistaken for a homeless guy ****update...satire site. funny as hell though http://www.shipldl.com/famous-musician-rob-zombie-arrested-88th-oscar-academy-awards/ to your point i have heard NOTHING but good things about the type of person Rob Zombie is, he was in Philly doing the Broad Street Bullies movie and every story talked about him in glowing terms.
  21. whoa, you must not be cool and hip. haven't you read? it's brilliant.
  22. actually shearwater is kind of intended to be kinda 'meh' in a weird sort of way. Okkervil River is a more alt-rock band, Shearwater was borne out of Okkervil to show more the nature/ambient sounds. I like them but am a bigger fan of the Okkervil River stuff. and for the record, we don't have to agree on what each other likes, just don't stop looking for new music, it's out there, you'll certainly find something you like. Once you start looking, then yeah, music is dead, to you.
