  1. Then why can the Steelers outperform us with lesser talent? Does that mean we have inferior coaches? Or is Ben playing better than Josh? If that is the case, then if Josh can’t get us the big W, how much supporting talent does he need to make that happen? Considering we are now tied up big money with him, our top talent acquisitions are probably limited to drafts.
  2. Which I already knew this, so I have only myself to blame for clicking on the link and putting myself through that torture. I apologize, I guess it’s unreasonable to expect greatness and reasonable explanations and corrective actions.
  3. I’m not expecting him to divulge team secrets, but his canned responses are like nails on a chalk board. It’s best to not even interview him at this point. He could of said Allen needs to find his open receivers, or O line needs to block better, but nothing. Even if he presents what he perceives as an issue, what is he going to do to correct it? Get better talent? Yell? More drills? I hate coach speak, it does nothing to instill confidence. I have high standards, I want super bowls, if we aren’t getting them, then we need better talent evaluators or play callers or coaches.
  4. I honestly don’t understand why they even bother having these press conferences. McDermott never gives a straight answer. All roads lead through him blah blah blah. It’s time he does some hard inspection into why we are struggling against harder competition. Is it talent, or is it coaching (play calling). If it’s talent, they have nobody but themselves to blame, because they didn’t do enough to bring in play makers. If it’s coaching, then they have nobody to blame but themselves because they continue to employ play callers that aren’t fixing the issues. While I don’t expect to go undefeated, I don’t find it acceptable what happened today. There is no reason why Allen passing 51 attempts yielded the results that it did with the surrounding talent that we have. We need to find ways to get these players in space if Allen is under pressure or roll him out. I’m getting tired of McDermott’s answers.
  5. I do NOT like McDermott’s canned responses. He always says it starts with me and I need to get better. No **** , the only way to get better is to get better talent, or utilize the talent that you have to better strategies. Obviously they don’t think Allen is the main problem, because they just backed up the binks truck. So is it the play calling McD or is it not good enough WRs/TE? I’m tired of him beating around the bush and hopefully he has a deep conversation with Daboll because quite frankly it’s unacceptable to get out played with the amount of talent we have on this team. Other teams are doing more with less, imagine if they had our roster. Constantly watching coaches like McVay and Shanahan get maximum production out of average talent, same with Belichick to some regards. If he thinks this fan base is going to just be happy with playoff runs and no Super Bowls, he has another thing coming.
  6. My only question is, is it the coaching or the talent that is the issue? We have Allen, Diggs, Sanders, Beasley, Davis and a good D with not many holes. We underperform at times during big moments. This team needs to seriously sit down and ask some tough questions. If the coaches are unwilling to diagnose the issues, then I don’t want them around here for long. I don’t care how many playoffs they take us to, if they can’t win when it matters, I want other coaches who can get us there. If we fail to go deep in the playoffs this year and still don’t get in the super bowl, then McDermott either needs to add more talent, or start looking for other coordinators to get us the Lombardi, because 14 win seasons don’t mean jack if you can’t bring home the title. To me there is no difference between a 14 win team and a 2 win team, both failed at accomplishing the only thing that matters in football. Either get better or start looking for jobs.
  7. It’s Daboll, he is the weakest link along with 2CB. Look what McVay does with Stafford, look what Shanahan does with Garoppolo. Imagine if they had Allen to work with.
  8. I’m so happy for Stafford, he finally gets to play with an offensive genius. Wish we had a McVay.
  9. I’m actually really happy for Stafford. He finally get’s to play with an offensive genius. I’m a firm believer that if you paired Allen with Shanny or McVay, he instantly becomes a super bowl favorite.
  10. Allen is without a doubt one of the best QBs in the league. Bad QB performance or not, the OC needs to recognize what is and what isn’t working with in game adjustments. Daboll rarely does. If you see Josh is under duress, call some screens or designed rollouts. It’s inexcusable on Daboll’s part and he infuriates me more than anyone during this game. I honestly hope we replace him.
  11. For some it doesn’t matter. Rodgers throws them every game. But generally I agree, it’s best for man coverage. Allen needs to study Brady then, because Brady destroys zone coverages. For some QBs it doesn’t matter, Ben was throwing over the middle all game today.
  12. I honestly hope Daboll leaves after this year. I think our offense could be even better than it is, which is a scary good thought. I think Daboll is holding us back.
  13. How many times did we watch Big Ben throw it over the middle to JuJu, Claypool, or his TEs. Either Josh is afraid to throw these passes, or his WRs aren’t physical enough to win these throws, or Daboll isn’t play calling them. How many times do we watch Rodgers and Ryan throw slant after slant? I’m not sure who is to blame for this, because we rarely see it. Watching the Steelers passes today was night and day with route selections.
  14. What I don’t understand is we never attack the middle of the field. Slants don’t exist. Anything over the middle is a Beasley button hook or a curl.
  15. I honestly for the life of me can’t understand why Daboll forgets like slants exist. It’s like he purposely tries to avoid them.
  16. Its because Daboll is terrible OC. We never run slants either. Peyton and Rodgers are the king of slants, Josh rarely throws any.
  17. No, you can’t just tell 5 dudes to hit the field and get open. Great play callers design plays to get WRs open. Daboll never runs slants or any other pro calls. He sucks.
  18. No, I feel like Allen is one of the most gifted QBs to put on a uniform. I feel like Daboll is a sham. Look what Shanny and McVay did with less.
  19. Because the play calling was stupid. We never run slants ever. Daboll is so infuriating sometimes.
  20. I don’t feel like Allen had that much of a bad game. I feel like Daboll is holding Allen back.
  21. Because Allen is elite. We know he is. He can sling it anywhere and the stats show it, but something feels amiss.
  22. We’ve been saying this for how long now? Allen hasn’t connected well on deep throws. If he does, nobody is beating us, but he hasn’t done so enough to win tough games like today.
  23. Tampa Bay has (Godwin, Evans, and Brown) which are all arguably #1s. Cinci has Higgins and Chase which are top tier talent. Minn has Thielen and Jefferson. Im just trying to figure out why Allen isn’t playing well with the talent he has against great teams.
  24. The problem is today was a big boy game. Chiefs are a big boy game. Tampa Bay is a big boy game. If our WRs are fine, then Allen has to win these games with the talent around him. Allen missed a wide open Sanders today, which doesn’t help. I’m just trying to figure out where the problem is. I feel Allen should be performing better with the talent he does have in these tough match ups, which makes me think Daboll or our #2WR is the weakest link.
  25. Thielen, Higgins. So then why can’t Allen get over this small hump? He has talent, today hurt considering all things. He should be elevating the players around us more than he’s doing. Is it because of Dabolls play calling or is it something else?
