    I was pretty shocked when they passed up Parham.  Beane said he had a good talk with Cody Ford after the season so he probably wants to give him another shot at G and didn't feel like we needed to draft someone

    Oyy.......  Hope we still draft OG......

  2. My draft would have looked like: NO TRADES......

    LB Devin Lloyd

    WR Jalen Tolbert

    OG Dylan Parham

    ...and we would have a 4th rounder today...

    BUT that would have left us without a cornerback...

    ...and is a glaring reason why I'm not a GM.  :)

    I'd have left CB up to fate, and hope that a "good" post-draft CB would be cut from another team...

    Thanks again, Gunner!  My wife, who is a casual football fan at best, had an interesting question on the draft.  I've read that of all the first round picks historically, less than 50% of QBs pan out and that only 60% overall pan out.  Now defining "panning out" can be argued, but her question is this:

           Are there certain positions historically that "pan out" better than the others?  For the sake of argument, we can either define "panning out" as becoming a good starter (which is hard to define in itself) or we can define it as making the pro bowl (which is often a farce, but at least provides an empirical stat to use).

    Are there statistics on this, or do you have a gut feeling based on your vast knowledge and experience?

    Thanks!

    If I had to hazard a guess, I think that Guards pan out more often than other positions.

  4. I've basically noticed that Beane is replacing players lost from the roster he was not able to replace via Free Agency, but he also felt that an upgrade in the run game was warranted..

    Elam = Wallace

    Cook = Upgrade to Zack Moss

    Bernard = Klein

    Personally I think that there is potential for Upgrades to the CB, RB and Linebacker positional groups so far.  Now we wait for preseason to see these guys in action.

    The next thing to look for in this draft will arguably be a SLOT WR to replace Beasley (unless they feel Crowder is an adequate replacement), a versatile Guard/Centerspecial teams contributors as well as the HOPE for a few draft slips.

    They COULD also be considering SAFETY, but personally I think that ship has sailed in THIS draft.

    Better get serious about addressing Poyer's contract.

  5. The newest LB Bernard is the answer to some blown plays in the playoffs by linebackers....

    Bernard may not start, but he IS fast and is described as a hybrid safety/linebacker, with excellent coverage skills.  In a pass-happy league, Bernard may bring a new element to our depth chart.

    I'm very surprised with a round 3 pick on this prospect.......  but he's a Bill.  Hope he becomes everything Beane feels he can be.

    Is he the answer to Kelce??

    Time will tell.

    LB Nakobe Dean has a MAJOR slip down the board

    LB Troy Anderson and RB KWIII slip to the top of round 3.
