It’s also a good example of how most fans don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to personnel decisions.
I would guess 80% to 90% of the response on this board was positive when the Bills traded for him.

Why convert Allen to something that he is not.
Not saying to convert Allen into Tom Brady. You don't need to abandon your game to get a little bit better at things that you are not great at.

you are correct Josh was bad against Green Bay and NE rookie year.
those were Josh’s two worst games rookie year.
yesterday, and those 3 games are Josh’s worst statistically.
going by memory and eye test, Josh’s worst game ever was yesterday imo-
—Josh was a rookie in 2018, he should be better processing reads 2024
-Josh has far superior OL in 2024
-Josh has far superior skill sets at 2024, than 2018.
Josh should be evolving, dialing in, and better in 2024 than 2018.
to me Josh’s performance since 2018 is a bell curve
I get your point, the New England game I was referring to (13 of 28, 0 TD, 3 Ints and pulled for Matt Barkley) was year two not his rookie year.
Yes, it is discouraging to me that Allen does not seem to be getting better at the things that he is not good at. He could be an all time great simply by reducing his turnovers by 20% and a little better processing but people here seem to think that this is impossible without killing his game.

I love Josh and Steph. But I don’t agree they both get game balls every day. Josh had his worst game as a pro. And Steph is invisible the past two months. Both make great plays. But neither deserves a ball today imo
It wasn't Allen's worse game -- that has to be the game in his rookie season against Green Bay or New England in year two. However, it certainly wasn't in any sense good. Bad performance and bad body language for both him and Diggs yesterday. Definitely don't understand this automatic game ball stuff.

The Ravens are 1 win and 4 losses against the Steelers in the last 5 games, including a loss this season The Ravens hate the Steelers. They may rest their starters, they may lose the game, but it won't be because the Ravens want to keep the Bills out.

You guys are insane. Arguing for no reason.
Would the Ravens prefer the Bills or the Steelers in the playoffs mix?
My response was that you said that the fact that the Ravens are favorites in the AFC was debatable. They have two more wins than any other team in the AFC. They play in the toughest division in the NFL (all teams are a least 500) and they have a point differential of +210 which is 77 higher than #2 (Bills at +133). They might now make the Super Bowl but there is no realistic debate about who is favorite.
On your question of whether the Ravens would prefer the Bills or Steelers -- I doubt that they think that far ahead. The Steelers always play them tough. Pittsburgh was one of the three teams to beat them this year (17-10), was 1-1 against the Ravens last year (14-16 and 16-13) and 2-0 against the Ravens in 2021 (20-19 and 16-13) and frankly, the Steelers have played better than the Bills the last two weeks.

The Ravens would be AFC favourites, and rightly so.

But does the point stand? Do they want to see us? Or Mason Rudolph?
Everything is debatable but it wouldn't be a very long debate.

So the scenario is now the NFL expanding vs the Saudis forming a competing league like they did with LIV golf? That’s at least plausible but the idea of a separate league to compete with the NFL is a pipe dream.
The most likely scenario for the Saudis to get involved with the football is for them to simply buy a NFL team like they have done with Newcastle United in the Premier League (or how other Arab money own PSG and Manchester City). The Chargers would actually be a good target for purchase.
The only issue is that they will have a more difficult time winning due to the NFL salary cap versus the easily skirted UEFA Financial Fair Play rules. The NFL also has rules against owning multiple teams so they would need to do it with front companies/institutions to own more than one team to increase influence.
I don't think they would want a team in Saudi Arabia, but they certainly have had no issues getting soccer players to do their retirement tour in Riyadh instead of the US (with Messi being the notable exception).

Interesting use of the word "battery". Does he basically mean "connection"?I think Gruden is using it in the way the pitcher and catcher is called the battery in baseball, so yes "connection".

I thought he didn't have to go through waivers since he is a seven year vet.

So what happened to Ifedi? Surprised that Miami or Cleveland didn't pick him up given all the injuries that they have experienced to their o-line.

Where the hell is Cleveland? Absurd they're not in the top 10.
I assume the Browns aren't there due to all the injuries on their offensive line. They have lost both starting tackles and their top backup tackle for the season. Their stats haven't been great, tied for 8th most sacks allowed (though one extra game) and 22nd in yards per rush.

but I totally agree re Wilson. I am maybe one of the few Wilson fans. I think he can be reclaimed. They mismanaged him from day 1. Reminds me of Tannehill in Miami.
You might be right that Zach can be reclaimed but I am not sure about the Tannehill comparison. The Jets certainly have mismanaged Zach Wilson badly but Tannehill actually had at least one pretty good year in Miami while Wilson has looked pretty bad the whole time in NY.
The only improvement for Zach this year is that he appears to be the best of the Jets QBs (Boyle and Siemian) versus the worse of the Jets QBs last year (Flacco and White).

At the time teams didn't want the top picks due to the financial risk involved. Basically if you blew the pick, you were setback for years. Another advantage for New England while building their dynasty.

Good call on Howell. He is a gunslinger who will pull out some surprising wins over a long career, but he's never going to be very good. His key issue right now is the sacks. He is a sack machine: 9.7 percent rate. You would think that's fixable, but then you look at Rob Johnson.
Rob Johnson was at another level bad, however -- 140 sacks on 806 attempts; a sack every 6.7 dropbacks not counting scrambles.

How does Buffalo perform? How does everybody else perform. I didn't care so much about how each individual team performed. I was looking for the aggregate. Buffalo has 19 samples. Everybody else has 141 samples. It's likely pretty safe to say the NFL average will fall between 50-55%. As that sample is decent in size and that % is somewhat logical. As for Buffalo, it is what it is right now. It's like W/L. 19 isn't enough to say forever but it's more than a full year of games which we find relevant.
I was just looking at your data for this year. I agree that your 5 year data for the Bills supports that the Bills D has been bad at "save" situations.

While I don't disagree, we could say the same thing about wins and losses
The average save attempts per team looks to be about six. If you compare it to won/loss records, that would be similar to randomly taking a six game stretch of each team's season and using it for the final standings. The standings would definitely correlate with the overall season standings but there would also be a lot of differences. -
I appreciate the effort but the problem with stats like this is that there is just not enough data points in a season to make it statistically meaningful.

Maybe it's non of our business because every Sunday he comes out and puts his heart wide open and plays hard.
If he wants people staying out of his business why does he bother posting at all? Clearly he wants people talking about him.

For what it's worth, Epenesa is not in PFF's list of top 100 free agents: https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2024-free-agent-rankings-free-agency
Three Bills are on the list, Floyd at 48th (1 yr $6M), Davis at 83th (1 yr $12M), and Jones at 90th (1 yr $6M), though PFF's contract projections seem pretty low.

Josh makes $81 a minute. He will be fine.
Well a Rolex goes between 10K and 80K, so if we say 14 oline that would be between 140K and 1.1M. I assume he won't go with the cheapest one so it's not a huge percentage of his total income but at least noticeable. Maybe he will need to do a few more Pepsi commercials.

That would be quite a hit to the wallet, even for Allen. No wonder he said he started off too strong.

Lovie.
Josh Allen Home Reg Season After Nov

Allen is fine in cold weather. He is not particularly good in sloppy weather (wind, rain, and/or snow). Obvious sloppy field games where he was outplayed by the opposing QB is, of course, by Burrows in last year's playoff game and by Matt Ryan in Allen's three interception game against the Falcons a few years back (although Allen did win the game with his legs once he stopped throwing it so much.) There was also the Eagles game against Carson Wentz in 2019 but maybe you don't want to count that since Allen hadn't hit his stride yet. I am sure there are others but those are the ones that are just off the top of my head. You can also argue he was outplayed by Bill Belichick's strategy in the famous Mac Jones two pass game,
To me, the issue is that Allen doesn't like to adjust for his passing game for weather except to throw the ball harder which just leads to more drops and less accuracy.
