    “Oh God, anybody but Allen”.

I literally have never heard anyone say this.  Now, it is true I don't listen to Nick Wright who basically is a Skip Bayless wannabe so possibly he said it.

It seems many people here want to be offended if anyone say the Bills are not absolutely unbeatable or that Josh Allen is not quite perfect.

So many people here looking for things to be offended by.   There's approximately 85.780 NFL media "experts", out there, you can always find someone saying something you don't like.   Right now, the media is overwhelmingly positive about the Bills, it's not just Romo.   It you go to other fans message boards, they talk about how the media and referees are treating Josh Allen just like Bills fans talk about how the media and referees treat Mahomes.

Still lower than all the other viewership by a substantial margin. You can twist it no matter how you like. It may be good streaming numbers but honestly doesnt have much competition. And when compared to games shown on both its not even in the same ballpark

As noted up thread, the Saturday night game is always the lowest rating game. People actually have stuff they would rather do on Saturday night.  The 23M is 7% higher than last year's game in the same time slot.

Can you please give us some facts that would in any way support your extremely specific contentions?  How is it 95% likely, and what facts do you have that it is "likely already in the works"?

Obviously you have information to back this up and are not just spewing nonsense that popped into your head one day.

Please share the info and facts that you have, as I am eager to find out what specific information you have for this vital change you indicate is almost a sure thing.

It's kind of a big number for streaming though. Most people were hoping it would totally flop. It didn't. They're going to do this again.

NFL is definitely pushing it big time.  If it was network tv the Saturday night game would have been Browns-Texans.

Wow they were flexing that 23 million viewership and they were by far the least watched game... even loosing to a 4:30 monday game

The Saturday night game is usually the lowest rated game.  This year's 23M is 7% higher than last year's game in the same time slot though that is mainly because last year was Chargers Jaguars.

I signed up when they were running a deal on Black Friday in November. $1.99 a month, and can cancel at anytime. I wanted to see Bills/Chargers from my home. So basically cost me $6 to see both NFL games from my couch instead of spending many many times that $6 to go to a sports bar to watch. Plus, my wife has found some things she likes on there, so we may even keep the service. NOTE: this was/is the first time we had EVER signed up for ANY streaming service.

I think that's the whole point -- they hope that enough new subscribers keep their subscription to make money.   If 10% of the 23 million subscribed to get that particular game and 20% of those keep the subscription, that would be almost half a million new long term subscribers. I think they would be pretty happy with that.  They paid 110 million for the game but they get some of that back from advertising and so forth.

Wow, I see 23 million people were a part of HISTORY on peacock. Do they all get sent an 'I helped make history' badge?

I guess that Peacock  and the NFL is pretty happy with the 23 million viewership.  It was the most stream event ever in the US and viewership was just a little bit lower than might be expected if it was on live TV  (80% of Browns-Texans while the Sunday evening game was 90% of viewership of the Sunday afternoon).  It shows the NFL that a lot of people are willing to pay $6 to see a playoff game.  Expect to see more of the same in the future.

Seriously?  Have you ever read the things said on this board about Brady, Tua, Rodgers or any of our rivals? That stuff is written all the time here and elsewhere. If I only had a nickel for every time some player was called a douche here. It goes with being fanatics. Miami fans hate the Bills and especially Allen because he owns them and they are jealous we have him.

You want fans of all the other teams to call Allen every name possible because it would mean that the Bills have won multiple Super Bowls.  Right now it is only Dolphins fans and, to a much less extent, Jets and Pats fans that think he is a douche.  Once the Bills get the second Super Bowl, everybody will hate him.

Spitballing…. but…. I suppose they could want an AFC counterpart to Green Bay. Small market, rabid regional fan base, top 5 QB that has some Favre in him. It’s even better for them because Pegula is legit wealthy, and doesn’t have to disclose financials like a public company. Bills are also that wedge into the Canadian market.  There are a lot of fans in SW Ontario, and they want that viewership.

They already have the AFC equivalent of Green Bay in Kansas City.

  11. Every league has superstar calls, whether it is Michael Jordan, Sidney Crosby, Lionel Messi, or Tom Brady.  I haven't been following baseball that much but I am sure top echelon pitchers get the benefit of doubt on ball/strike calls compare to an unknown rookie.

I don't think you need a the NFL league office handing out a conspiratorial edict for this to occur, it's just human nature. If DeAndre Hopkins is going up against some unknown rookie CB, Hopkins will get the benefit of the doubt on borderline DPI calls simply because referees expect Hopkins to come up with the ball.

Somebody has probably asked this but don’t they have to go through the motions of interviewing candidates?

They don't have to because Mayo had it in his contract that he would be head coach when BB left:

    https://www.cbsnews.com/boston/news/jerod-mayo-hired-new-england-patriots-head-coach-bill-belichick-replacement-departure-robert-kraft-nfl/

So there was little chance they would hire Vrabel unless Kraft was willing to be sued.

FWIW the Ravens are 3-8 without Lamar the past 3 years compared to 28-12 with him. Hard to know what the Bills would be without Allen because he always plays. But in 2021 Baltimore were in the #1 seed spot when Lamar got hurt and missed the playoffs. Last year they were the #2 seed when he got hurt and ended up as a wildcard who was 1 and done.

Lamar is pretty critical to the Ravens results. I am not sure there would be much difference between them without him and the Bills without Josh tbh...

I can. Jets. Eagles. Chargers. And that is just from the top of my head.

People's ability to only remember things that confirms their believes is always amazing to me.  In this case, the believe that Allen's turnovers don't actually hurt the Bills chances of winning. Even more amazing is the contortions people go thru to convince themselves that someone else is to  blame for every interception that he throws.

  14. Definitely agree that the blue font on green background they use there is awful and makes it hard to read.   Readability should be the top priority and nothing is easier to read than black font on white background.  As they say: keep it simple, stupid.

Thank you for crediting McDermott - he deserves it you’re absolutely right.  The halftime adjustments were championship caliber (did I say that right? 😂). What good coaching does!  Kudos to learning sean

i noticed in the first half our dline was dominating too but man were the dolphins taking advantage of no calls

saw a TON of holding on the big men up front - I know it happens every play but dang it was like Dallas vs Miami all over again

To be fair, there was a ton of holding by the Bills oline that were also not called.   There was one on the QB pushes where the Bills oline man had his arms completely around the Dolphin player but perhaps they never call holding on those plays.

  16. Bad weather, by which I mean wind, rain, or snow will definitely benefit Pittsburgh.    I see some comments upthread that Allen's arm strength will allow him to cut through the wind.  But that to me is the whole issue; rather than recognizing limits due to weather conditions, Allen just throws the ball harder which leads to poorer accuracy and more dropped balls. Hopefully, they will rely more on Allen's legs which is a huge advantage.

The Steelers will try to replay their game against Baltimore though it will be much harder without Watt.  The good thing is if the Bills get out to an decent lead (and don't make stupid mistakes) it will force them out of this mode and it is unlikely Rudolph will be able bring them back.

  17. Allen is a great QB,  obviously the Bills would be nowhere without him but I hate that according to many every mistake is someone else's fault.

How in the world, do people think that if Davis didn't trip, the 2nd int would have been a touchdown?  The defender was standing there for two seconds waiting for the ball to get him.  The best you could have hope from Davis was that he would break it up.  However, that wasn't the issue, it was 4th down so the interception was better than turning it over on downs.  The issue on that play was that he was looking at a TE who who was open and 90% would have gotten a first down on YAC and he didn't throw it to him.

  18. Not to interrupt the Davis hate-fest but a lot of the reason Davis is targeted for a high percentage of Allen's interceptions are because pf the types of the balls thrown to Davis.   To me Davis is targeted for a higher percentage of passes that Allen is throwing it 30 yards down the field during scramble drills,  similar to the second interception tonight.  Of course, those passes have a higher chance of being intercepted.

Hey the Ravens owe nothing to no one but in the playoffs if you come out flat for a quarter or two that may be it. Especially when you will play in round 2 arguably the hottest team in the AFC

How exactly does Lamar Jackson handing off the ball three times in the pouring rain affect whether he comes out flat in two weeks or not?

If Allen did anything more than that in those conditions, everyone would be calling for McDermott to be fired (beyond those who are already doing so).
