The wind and visibility will help the Dolphins, who otherwise couldn't keep up with the Bills on either side of the ball. Just like the wind game against the Pats and the heat game in Miami. Frustrating. This game will come down to who turns the ball over where how often. If the Bills throw deep, throw anywhere to McKenzie, or return punts in these conditions, they deserve to lose. But I expect them to win simply because they're better.

The dolphins have major issues when their offensive timing gets disrupted so I think they’re gonna struggle a lot more than us with a snowy field.  Snow should ‘help’ the receivers run routes because they know where they’re going and will slip less than the dbs but the timing of their breaks will be completely different with lower traction. I think it’s gonna come down to which qb is better at improvising and these two guys are polar opposites in that regard

tua is a robot that makes pretty much one read and throws the ball to a spot on the field where he would’ve expected a receiver to be if the play was run perfectly. I don’t think he ever really learned to play qb since his college offense was just so much more physically talented than their opponents every week so they built a system around him getting the ball out quick on predetermined reads to physical freaks at wr.

kind of reminds me of Goff the year the rams got spanked by the pats in the Super Bowl.  A good defense will give the dolphins absolute fits but they will blow out bad teams

Sure…..but the scores are definitely lower when played in bad weather than in perfect weather 95 out of 100 times.

bad weather may favor the offense on some individual plays….. but definitely doesn’t favor the offense for an entire game.

Probably depends on the kind of weather it is.  If it’s just steady snow and no wind it could definitely favor the offense all game if they’re used to handling a wet football.  There’s been some crazy offensive performances in weather like that.

if it’s blizzard conditions though like the bills colts game and the bills browns game many years ago with wind and no visibility that heavily favors the defense.

I think it is a bit of both. In general points are lower but as the other poster said, the WRs know where they are going and the defenders need to react. It could result in guys getting wide open if a defender falls or loses his balance. QB still needs to deliver the ball too.

Yea the route running I’d say favors the offense for sure but the qbs gotta grip the football and the receivers gotta catch it.  Miami keeps saying it’s a mental thing not a physical thing but it is very much both lol

I'm shocked the over under for this game is at 44.5.

Doesn’t look like it’s gonna be that windy…also I think people are picturing the colts snow game and it sounds like it’s not gonna be close to that.

I remember Brady dropping 5 passing tds on the titans before halftime in a snow game in a game they’d go on to win 59-0 lol Brady could’ve easily broken the single game passing td record that game if they let him

And heavy lobbying to move the game by the Bills organization!

What did the bills gain strategically by the game being moved indoors?  We ran the browns out of the building and Chubb averaged a whopping 1.4 yards per carry.

I very much doubt they wanted the game to move at all…that three ‘away’ games in 12 days was a logistical mess

    they don't

I’m genuinely confused by this take…we’re one of the best teams in the league at rushing defense and stuffing short yardage runs, we have a qb with a lot of arm strength that throws a tight spiral and can run like a fullback, we get to practice in the cold/wind and generally know the wind directions this time of year in our own stadium for the kicking/passing games.

our offensive line hasn’t been good but if Armstead is out miamis offensive line is even worse.

miamis entire offense revolves around the threat of hill/waddle  beating the defense deep to open up timing routes in the middle of the field.  Tua regularly underthrows tyreek on deep balls even in ideal circumstances and doesn’t have a lot of arm strength to throw out routes. Receivers are going to be struggling with their footing so a lot of the offense for both teams will come down to improvisation. They don’t really run the ball particularly well either so they’re a bit of a one trick pony .  I just don’t see a single aspect of this game weather that favors the dolphins.

of course you can make the argument that heavy precipitation makes things a bit less predictable and if you’re the better team anyway maybe that’s not necessarily what you’d want but that’s a bit different of a convo.

I think people are reading way to into the jets game…if your offensive line has to hold like crazy to slow a 4 man rush down, methodically moving down the field with underneath throws is really really difficult.  You’ve got to hit a few chunk plays in a situation like that. The Miami defense is a completely different situation…they send the house to generate pressure  so the entire gameplan will be different and there will likely be more looks underneath

Even if the Bills played in a dome the Browns game would have still been moved.  Imagine that, spending an extra $800M of taxpayers dollars on a dome and they still move the f###ing game.

People seem to have trouble realizing this lol I don’t believe it even snowed at game time in buffalo for the browns bills game…a dome wouldn’t have changed anything

A football game was just a silly use of emergency resources given the situation

Stephen Ruiz has always hated Allen, this is nothing new.

Haha yea isnt he the Herbert homer that writes for the ringer.  He put Herbert above josh pre season this year so he’s full of it.

Josh has outperformed Herbert this year with a similarly messy offensive line and an injured elbow. Idk how you can compare performances between josh outside in bad weather against the jets defense and Herbert against the dolphins in LA.

The Dolphins passing game is the short to intermediate routes over the middle. The weather won’t affect them as much as it will the Bills. Allen likes to push the ball downfield and outside the numbers. It’s why he struggles in poor weather.

I disagree…it’s all timing routes with tua throwing to a predetermined read/spot on the field.  A receiver slipping just a bit would completely derail the play.  The bills are exponentially better at improvising.  Also even short throws are heavily influenced by wind for a qb without a big arm/tight spiral

tua also can’t really throw out routes in ideal circumstances let alone on a cold night when gripping the ball is tough so they’re pretty limited in what spots of the field they attack which defenses have caught on to.

    Advantage Dolphins.

Lol did he have that shirt custom printed for this situation?  That is cringey.  Can’t wait to see how the league remembers this guy…seems like the offense is in danger of getting figured out and the defense took a huge step backwards since flores left

Vikings played there last year and there was a 30 degree difference; Vikings' sideline was 120 degrees.  Vikings won.

Oh I know that’s what I’m saying haha I see it more as embarrassing for them that they can have a sizable advantage like that and still lose.  Just because they lose some games doesn’t disprove the fact that the sideline situation can have a big effect on the game imo.

The Dolphins have been playing in that stadium for 35 years and we lose one game due to extreme heat and people go bananas.

It’s funny when they have that advantage and still lose but that doesn’t make it not an advantage 😂

Someone posted earlier that the Bills are like 10-1 in games below a certain temperature threshold with McD.

If so, it seems like you are wrong about the bills being the team at the disadvantage.

People’s judgement is still clouded by the wind game it seems when considering inclement weather games.  We’re top 10 in rushing offense and top 5 in rushing defense,  we’ve got a very physical wr1 and a qb with a huge arm that can run like a fullback.  There aren’t too many teams that are better off in bad weather.

we heard all week leading up to the Cleveland game that nick Chubb was gonna run all over us in the snow and he couldn’t even run all over us in a dome where the threat to throw was there lol 14 carries for 19 yards

Not really any evidence of that in recent years in terms of wins and losses. Offense wins regular season games. Offense wins Championships. Offense wins Super Bowls.  Thats the rule.  There are a small handful of exceptions in this century to prove the rule.

Complete teams have been winning the superbowl for years now so I’m not sure what you mean.  Heck the year the chiefs won it they were just outside the top 10 in points against and they couldn’t get it done any other year.

points against rankings of recent Super Bowl winners:

    ravens defense in 2013 - 12th
    Seahawks defense 2014 - 1st
    pats defense in 2015 - 10th
    broncos defense in 2016 - 4th

    pats defense in 2017 - 5th

    eagles defense in 2018 - 12th

    pats defense in 2019 - 8th

    chiefs defense in 2020 - 11th

    bucs defense in 2021  - 8th

    Rams defense in 2022 - 15th

There hasn’t been a superbowl winner in the bottom half of the league in points against since the New York giants in the 2012/2013 season and even their defense was great in the playoffs.

im not trying to say you need to go all defense lol but you need a good mix of offensive and defensive talent

Like I said, if you look a the 2020 and 2022 Chiefs they are near identical in terms of how they are winning games for the most part (i.e. playing up or down to level of competition). Big difference is no more Tyreek Hill, but Mahomes is still putting up crazy numbers throwing to a bunch of average WR's and Kelce. And even when teams have effectively limited Kelce it's some other random guy stepping up every week for them like we saw over and over again with Brady and the Pats every year.

In a perfect world maybe this is finally the year the Chiefs are one and done in the playoffs regardless of where the finish but deep down I dread facing this team again in the playoffs especially without the key guy we signed to finally get over that hump which will just be another excuse probably should we lose to them for the 3rd straight year in postseason play.

it’s becoming pretty illogical to assume the chiefs will just roll through the playoffs when they haven’t beaten the joe burrow bengals once…I just don’t know what else the bengals have to do at this point 😂 how you’re feeling about the chiefs is probably exactly how the chiefs fans are feeling about the bengals lol

There’s quite a few afc teams that can go toe to toe with the chiefs now…it’s lookin like even the 7 seed won’t be a layup for anyone.

the Brady pats were buoyed by a similarly talented offensive line and a much better defense so I don’t think that really compares.  The offense did not have to be loaded with playmakers/at their best  for 60 minutes every week.   If the chiefs had a top 10 defense it would be a much different story but they do not have that at the moment

Everybody said this in 2020 when they were 14-2 and barely beating teams down the stretch. Then they lose Mahomes in the divisional and also barely hang on against the Browns and all the experts picked the Bills in the AFCCG. We all know how that story ended in a game where the Bills were annihilated despite going up 10-0 early the game was essentially over by halftime.

Deep down I know a lot of Bills fans know that Mahomes will always haunt this franchise and will never admit it because of Allen still being a great QB himself. But at the end of the day still think the Chiefs look like a team just going through the motions until the playoffs when they will turn it on and cruise to another SB victory sadly and why it won't matter even if the Bills can get the #1 seed because they simply don't have that ability and Allen isn't Mahomes.

They very much do not look like they are ‘just going through the motions’ this season to me but to each their own.  they don’t have nearly the margin of error as chiefs teams in years past.  The bills and bengals played far from perfect games and beat them.

It has nothing to do with being afraid of mahomes and having an inferiority complex lol mahomes is amazing but they lost an excellent receiver in the offseason and their defense has not been playing well.  Cincy is a more complete team and buffalo could be too assuming the offense returns to form

Hurts deserves the MVP.  It’s not really a debate right now.

Could Allen storm back…maybe, but he would have to have a monster, and I mean monster game against both Miami and Cincy and beat them badly, not to mention do the same with Chi and NE too.

And that still may not be enough to over take Hurts unless Hurts has a couple bad games here down the stretch.

The reason…Hurts has not had any up and down games, he has 3 INTs on the season.

But, who really cares anyway?  I don’t care about the MVP, I care about winning the Super Bowl.  Nothing else is important.

This probably doesn’t factor into it much but hurts would look nowhere near as good if he was playing the bills schedule imo.  Philly has had the 30th toughest schedule by dvoa rankings this season so far and it doesn’t get much tougher in the last 4 weeks.  Id give it to mahomes right now if it was up to me…he’s got Kelce and a good offensive line and nothing else.  Hurts has a ton of weapons

Josh is in the worst situation of the 3 so if he was a little closer in stats I’d lean his way but he’s behind for sure at the moment

In a world where they are the #1 seed hosting LAC then the road to the Superbowl goes through KC. Let's imagine for a minute my seedings hold but Baltimore beats the Chargers.

Then I'd have BALT @ BUF and CIN @ KC and I might then get to a CIN @ BUF AFCCG. Cos I do think Cincy are in KC's head. Conversely KC are in the Chargers' heads.

No way the Bills lose to the Bears. None. That is a great matchup for Buffalo.

If the chargers get healthy they could beat anybody…not too sure what’s goin on with their injury situation though they could still be banged up for the playoffs.  They had KC dead to rights in that first matchup until Herbert threw that pick six in the end zone.

Yea idk why the bears are getting talked up, people are still assuming we have the 2021 bills rush defense I guess when we have drastically improved.

I keep hearing we’re a bad team in bad weather on all the sports talk shows when we are top 10 in rushing offense and top 5 in rushing defense lol
