Every non Bills fan recognizes that this is a really good roster with good coaching and a liability at QB. 90% of this board sees the exact opposite.

What a bizarre statement... Nobody is saying that third year QBs aren’t better than rookie QBs. The comparison is year 2 to year 3. It’s extremely rare to see a third year QB make a huge jump. The idea that he’s suddenly going to develop the ability to read defenses, hit receivers in stride on a consistent basis, hit the deep ball on a regular basis, etc. is not based in reality. Add to that the fact that his athleticism is his biggest asset, and it becomes even more of a stretch. He took some serious shots yesterday that he certainly still feels today.

I have addressed the points. The fact that he made several completely boneheaded plays is only the second most concerning thing about him. The fact that he got away with almost all of them and still only managed 19 points is far more damning. People want to pretend he’s some gunslinger, but he’s not. Gunslingers make the other team pay when they fail to capitalize on mistakes. The Texans missed several opportunities to intercept passes, recover fumbles, punch it in after being handed a short field, etc., and they never did. They gave Josh chance after chance after chance to make Houston pay, and he couldn’t do it. The difference between Allen and Watson yesterday wasn’t that Watson’s best plays were better than Josh’s best plays. It’s that when Watson struggled he threw the ball away or went down with the ball securely in his possession. When Allen struggled, all hell broke loose.

You’re right, dude. All drives that end without scores are created equal. It makes no difference whether you pin the other team at their one yard line with a punt or if you fumble the ball and set up the other team with a short field. It was our privilege to watch Josh MFing Allen run around like a chicken with his head cut off for three and a half hours yesterday hitting defenders in the hands with passes, fumbling the ball without getting touched, lateraling the ball wildly to nobody, unintentionally backwards to knock the team out of FG range, etc. THAT is what franchise QBs do. Whatever deal Mahomes signs, add 5% and ink Josh the following year.

Not all zeroes are created equal. Scoring zero points and punting is much better than fumbling or throwing a pick six. This is pretty basic stuff. You know this. It’s embarrassing to pretend that Josh belonged on the same field as Watson. Read any other team’s message board. Allen is a punchline.

Watson’s first half wasn’t about what he did. It’s about what he didn’t do. He didn’t drop the ball on the ground for no reason. He didn’t panic and randomly lateral the ball backwards for no reason. He didn’t throw a jump ball to his fullback who was double covered. He didn’t throw easy pick sixes. He didn’t take a horrible penalty to cost his team points. He was bad in the first half, but he didn’t lose the game for them. He made as many splash plays as Josh, but he didn’t make the huge mistakes.

It’s comforting to know that Josh is good enough to beat a mediocre team as long as every other player on his team makes every catch, every block, his coaches call perfect plays, etc. Oh, and the other team has to drop multiple interceptions, make dumb coaching decisions, etc. as well.

Realistically Buffalo had the opportunity to select 5 different QBs that ultimately went in the first round. In 2017, they passed on Mahomes and Watson. Mahomes already has an MVP and is watching games from home with a bye. Watson just beat the Bills and will be facing Mahomes in KC next weekend. In 2018 they passed on Rosen (bust) and Jackson who also has an MVP award and is also sitting at home with a bye. IMO, Allen was the worst possible selection of the 5. At least Rosen busted hard enough that Arizona moved on. Josh Cutler seems to be the emperor that is walking down the street with no clothes on yet nobody wants to admit what couldn’t be more obvious. Drop a $30,000,000 price tag on him and watch what the franchise does. Mahomes is about to set the market in the $40,000,000 per year range. He could legitimately make a run at a billion in career earnings not even counting endorsements if he plays for 20 years. Is anyone really prepared to pay Josh even 75% of that, because that’s what a franchise QB his age is going to command.

Wtf does "19 points in a row" mean? They were on in a row because the offense didn't score. Maybe if Josh hadn't rolled the Texans the ball, they wouldn't have given up 19 points period. The defense was great. They we're dominant at times. The difference is that Watson acted like he cared about the ball while Josh treated it like candy at a parade.

If you want the truth, read any other team's message board. Every fan without a dog in the fight can see the obvious, and that is that Allen was not just bad. He was a clown out there. He fumbled once by just straight dropping the ball. Very nearby fumbled again a split second after his knee touched, threw two consecutive passes that should have been intercepted for touchdowns, threw a ridiculous jump ball to a freaking fullback in double coverage, had another interception dropped by a DB, made the most ridiculous lateral I've ever seen, and took an intentional grounding penalty that ultimately cost the game. Yeah he made his typical 3-4 spectacular plays that only a few QBs in the league can make, but he simply can't be counted on not to crap the bed. If Houston had been able to capitalize on half of his terrible mistakes, this game would have been a blowout. You can live with the gunslinger mentality with a guy who lights up a scoreboard, but Josh doesn't do that. What's more is that his dumb mistakes aren't even the result of him being aggressive and trusting his arm to hit tight windows. They're just stupid. Fall in love with the flash plays at your own risk. Ultimately there's a reason his numbers stunk in high school, junior college, college, and now the NFL. He looks the part. He talks the part. He just doesn't play the part. Every other fan base recognizes it. Yeah, kind of like how Josh's stats would have been greatly helped by receivers running into the endzone for long touchdown catch and runs if he hadn't overthrown them by 5 yards every time one of them got behind the defense. The difference is that Lamar hit his man in stride. That's a feature, not a bug.

Their offense put up the service highest point total against the Bills this season. The Ravens are steamrolling to the number 1 seed in the AFC, and Jackson is the runaway favorite for MVP. If what he's done doesn't impress Bills fans, you might as well drag Josh out behind the stadium and put a bullet in him because there is zero reason to believe he'll ever touch what Lamar is doing.
