  1. So the problem obviously is the Bills will have to pay him right away, and my guess would be Diggs current deal is the floor of what that deal would be. Personally I don’t know much about the guy-can he separate, can he make catches in traffic, I have read that he is a good YAC guy, but is that because of the system he was in? I also don’t want the Bills giving up their first round pick. If the 49ers came to the Bills with an offer they should listen, I’m not convinced the Bills should be calling them though

I would try to hold onto Minnys pick being they may be pretty bad this upcoming season.

It would take the sting out of having no first next season if we have a high second instead of what will likely be a later mid round selection

And I do love Nabers...maybe moreso than MHJ. But if I were Brandon Beane, I would stand pat and take Legette, Mitchell, or Coleman, and then double down using next year's first to get a high second and select another one. This increases the likelihood that you solve the WR issue along with still having a second this season to go and add another possible impact player to the roster.

Sorry I’m confused-you would trade the Bills first round pick next year to get into the 2nd round this year? That idea seems very flawed

Ever watch a QB constantly target a WR and nobody can stop it...kinda like Mahomes to Tyreek Hill or TE Travis Kelec?

Buffalo needs a WR / TE that can get open and catch the ball no matter who is covering them like the two above. Diggs was good, but he wasn't that guy. Look at his stats in the playoffs the last few seasons and he does nothing in those games. Not worth 24 million a year to disappear in the playoffs.

    From Jerry Jabber:

There’s a saying in the NFL, you’re only as good as your last game. Here’s Diggs’ stats in the last four playoff losses.

    6 rec, 77 yards, 0 TD

    3 rec, 7 yards, 0 TD

    4 rec, 35 yards, 0 TD

    3 rec, 21 yards, 0 TD

    Beane has a plan!

Wait hold on-Diggs has been quiet in the playoffs???? How has no one ever mentioned this before?!?!?!

100%- I will add, the dynamics with people can be extremely complicated. I think Steph and his personality made it harder for Josh to really take the leadership role by the horns. Allen came in the league and Steph was older, more experienced, more of a presence. The dynamic was fine for Steph at first, he was the alpha, the man. But I think as Allen grew into stardom Steph sort of wanted to maintain that pecking order. Josh isn't loud, he's excessively polite. He's just not the type to drop his Johnson on the ground and take charge. What part of that he did have in him, I think Stephs presence likely made him less likely to express it. But people like Josh can be that way in the right environment. It starts off by not being heavily challenged which was more likely to occur with Steph around. Over time confidence grows and you learn to express yourself as a vocal leader. Now all of our former captains gone this is Allens team. Nobody is left to challenge him. It's such a great opportunity for him to become more than a leader with how he plays. This just feels right to me in so many ways. Excited for the first time all offseason believe it or not.

I don’t buy this at all. You are giving Diggs way too much credit over Josh’s leadership abilities. I don’t believe Diggs had that much influence on how Josh led the team. I also don’t get this obsession of needing to see Josh be “vocal” on the sidelines, as if that somehow makes him a better leader. Good leaders don’t need to scream at their teammates on the sidelines. We also have no idea what Josh does in terms of leadership the other 6 days a week. Players love playing for him, they all say he’s a great leader, and this has absolutely been Josh’s team the last several years. The “no one left to challenge him” line is just nonsense

if so not for long, sadly for Diggs he has become injury prone over the last couple of seasons, and disappears in the post season, that’s not what one wants as a “ 1b” receiver,  he will be a slot type of guy for one or two seasons then get likely gets waived/cut. Age is a SOB when you’re a pro athlete.

Oh I definitely agree with that. He certainly could be supplanted by the end of the year. I just don’t think the Texans are ready to make Dell the definitive #2 yet, especially coming off his injury

He was already losing his target share during the last seven games of last season, now he is the #3 guy for Houston,

He’s above Dell so he’s the 2, honestly probably closer to a 1B to Collins 1A

responding to fans in such a manner that can be perceived as direct disrespect toward your QB is unwise....to say the least.

But again that’s your perception of what he is saying. You have made no mistake about it, you want him gone-that’s fine, that’s your opinion, don’t have a problem with it. But are you reading too much into it?

I like Diggs, I think he’s a good teammate, i don’t really care what he says on Twitter, and I read it more as someone was taking a shot at him not being elite any more, not a shot at Josh.

That’s where the line is though. For those of you who want him gone, you’re looking for those types of things and perceived slights. At least from my POV it doesn’t seem like the team or Josh are really taking anything he says on Twitter seriously

For the love of god, how thin skinned are some of you?

Yeah, Diggs is a drama llama and a bit of a ***** stirrer. I don't care. I don't remember him ever slagging off the team in public. The closest was his visible frustration on the sideline at how poor the game planning and execution for the offense was for the Bengals game which...same.

Remember when he posted a heart emoji, and then "Ready for Whatever" and people assumed he was trying to force his way off the team? Some people got an idea fixed in their head and are going to interpret all evidence to that end, regardless of context.

The irony of some on here overreacting to Diggs tweets, calling him soft and a diva….because of his tweets

How am I hater? The facts is the facts. His playoffs victories have come against

Phillip Rivers, Mac Jones, Skylar Thompson, Lamar and Mason Rudolph.

So then say the facts-his playoff victories are against the Colts, Ravens, Patriots, Dolphins, and Steelers. He didn’t play one down against any of those guys

Not a chance 4 WRs go top 12.  The last time the Giants passed on a QB to draft a skill position it didn’t work out very well for them.  Denver selecting the 4th best WR at 12 when they have no QB is laughable.  They are either trading up for a QB or trading down for a 1st + in next years draft to have ammo for one.  There’s a good chance 5 QBs go high with Penix possibly penetrating the top 15.

Personally, I think there are way too many crappy teams that will be looking to find a cornerstone QB or build the trenches first before spending a top 10 pick on a WR.

So just to counter that, is it better to take the 4th best WR or the 5th best QB? Taking the 5th best QB could set back a franchise even more. Taking the WR probably is setting up Denver to draft early next year and they could end up with a much better prospect

Lamar Jackson is the most overrated QB of this generation. When I say overrated, I am not saying he’s BAD, but he’s not in the same league as Burrow, Mahomes, Allen, or even Herbert. LJ benefits from an elite coaching staff/GM. He’s a juiced up Tyrod Taylor. A game manager w/ some game breaking ability. Take away his running and he’s a fringe starter at best. He’s got a great arm, but is just too inconsistent. Ultimately, a QB’s job is to throw the ball. Allen can chuck it from anywhere and even when he eventually loses some speed, his strength will still allow him to extend plays and maneuver the pocket. Jackson is going into year 7 and I don’t see anything changing, he continuously lets his team down in the playoffs whereas it’s the other way around for Allen. Harbaugh is going to have resurrect the 2000 Raven’s defense in order to win a SB.

Sorry but you lost me once you mentioned Herbert. The guy is talented but Lamar has done so much more than Herbert has at this point

  12. Oh god is this going to be one of those annoying Isaiah Hodgins things (seriously Hodgins lovers, tell me one thing he did that necessitated all the anger) where he’s going to rush for 40 yards and a touchdown and there will be endless threads on how the Bills missed out?

I would suggest that if Josh had taken the shorter throw instead of trying to hit Shakir, we could have run more clock and beaten KC.  Josh is an immense talent.  No one denies that.  I’m glad he’s our QB.  But his improvement will come not in the physical but the mental part of the game, knowing when to take the shorter option as an example.  I expect the more seasons under his belt the more we’ll see that.

It was the right throw, he just didn’t make it (we all know why, and it wasn’t because of Josh)! Why do we still need to keep talking about it? Yes Diggs was open, so was Shakir! Maybe they still only get a field goal with a pass to Diggs, then Mahomes still gets the winning drive…or is that not part of the narrative you want on that?

  14. I would much rather be in Josh’s situation, constantly getting into the playoffs, having extremely high expectations, and get the criticism than be a supposed supremely talented QB on supposed incredibly talented teams that can never come through….Justin Herbert anyone? He underperforms so often and somehow his team is consistently so bad that dude somehow escapes all criticism

Tua hasn't gotten an extension yet and nor has than been whispers he's working on one. Joe Klatt mentioned in one of his mocks that Penix could give them the deep thrower they need and could be their 1st Rounder in April.

There’s no reason for them to get a deal done until OTAs/training camp. Tua is their guy (lucky for us) and he’s going to get paid (again lucky for us). They don’t have a roster built for a rookie QB

clearly you don't watch football closely.

That’s true, because Lewis is MUCH worse than Tolbert was. I will give Lewis some credit, he did improve this past season, in that he didn’t almost single-handedly cost the Bills 2 games like he did the previous year

He stated last year during the season and again this offseason how he gets tired of answering the same questions every time he has already directly answered.  The media keeps trying to bait him into to saying something they can twist to be a click bait, he knows it, and he is over it.

It doesn't matter what he says, no one believes anything other than the conspiracy they are searching for confirmation bias on which is why they clip pieces of an interview to make it look like it was "cryptic" where if you listen to the whole interview it wasn't.

He made his stance clear on wanting to remain in Buffalo...what anyone else tries and decipher from every little thing he does is on them, not him.

It's hilarious that some people will want people athletes to be honest and answer the questions....he does but now people are like "but what about the tweets?!?!?"

Yes - we have learned our lesson. Clearly, injuries happen. Lesson #1. Clearly, we need toughies and not wimps. Lesson #2 aka Tre White. When Blackmon is healthy he is a top player. This would be a big signing for us and we have Rapp too, in case. Perfecto bundoooo!

Just want to be clear-are you calling White a toughie or a wimp?
