Bills still have a big need at corner. With Harris signing in SD, they need to find someone.

He is the starting SAM, replaces LORAX.
Bills play a lot of Nickel anyways.

And also cancel out extensions for Dawkins, Milano, and Tre.
Yeah, they have a lot of contracts they can get out of next year to resign those guys. -

Yeah, they're falsely claiming that the 4th next year is worth a 4th this year. That's not how it works.
Yes I'm happy. They need/were going to add another WR and I figured they'd take one in the 1st, despite all the talk of how deep a draft this is and the possibility of getting a stud later. Looking at the latest CBS mock draft, they have 4 WR's going in the top 21 (Jeudy, Ruggs and Lamb in the top-13 and Jefferson at 21), meaning the Bills might only have had a shot at the 5th best WR at 22, but for sure the best it would have been is the 4th. I am also skeptical of their ability to draft WRs, not to mention that with the fewer and fewer practices and especially what will be a truncated off-/pre-season, the rookie WR's won't have enough time to get up to speed, if they ever do. That won't be a problem with/for Diggs.
Draft is so deep with Receivers they can get a guy in the 2nd/3rd/4th who can make an impact for them. The reason I love this trade for the Bills. Fills an immediate need with a proven player, NOW.

Hoping that Oliver can improve upon his play in the 2nd half of the season. Dude is gonna be a beast. -

50% offense, 50% defense, 1/3 ST
Call it however much of the game you want, it is still a very important part of the game.- 1

Count the plays offense and defense are on the field compared to special teams and then check your math. ?
All those punts Bojo shanked, the blocked punt vs New England, missed field goals and extra points. Special teams matters.- 2

Special teams is 1/3rd of the game.

Think his versatility will be perfect for the Bills scheme.

If we could swing 9 mil on a marginal guy we couldn't swing 11 mil on Hooper? Who will contribute more?
Dawson Knox in his 2nd year.

This is an excellent post. The other point that the late round pick hand-wringers are completely missing is Beane was never going to use those extra 5th and 6th roumd picks to draft players in this draft. Never. They were acquired as draft captital exclusively to use to trade for targeted players.
The other thing i think that people are missing with Beane is that he is not hung up on what the perceived chart value of a trade is. His MO is to get draft captital to make moves, and use what it takes to get the guy he wants. The extra picks were stocked for that purpose, and that's what he uses them for.
The Bills needed elite talent. Weren’t gonna get it at 22, and definitely not with the day 3 picks. They got that elite talent in Diggs.

Would like to see a Chris Harris signing.

Offense gonna come through the draft. Defensive signings were mostly replacements of players let go.

We also signed DT Vernon Butler from, who else, Carolina. A lot of new depth added to the d-line but I wish we could get an impact starter there.
Bills defensive scheme relies a lot on defensive line rotation.- 1

Well, if they’re not gonna add an elite edge guy, at least go get Harris.
-
Wonder if Beane waits to do his deals this evening again.

Watching Diggs film. Loving it. Runs such crisp routes and catches everything thrown near him.

Do we look at Linval Joseph with Reader gone?
Expecting mostly depth signings at this point. Really hope they get a starting level corner, though. -

look for the edge you want in RD2/3 and a then WR, RB & LB/OT
Think a back like Dobbins could put the offense over the top.

trade fodder to move up in rd2/3
Yeah, I think they’ll end up with a max of 5 rookies on the 53 man. Still depends on the rest of free agency, though. -

Reader, Harris and a decent Tackle would complete free agency....not sure how realistic that is though.
We can dream. -

A first round pick was steep!
Maybe if a highly projected guy drops. But they weren’t getting an elite WR with that pick.- 1
We are looking at Melvin Gordon according to this tweet

Depends on if they plan on drafting a running back. I’d prefer they do that to get someone fresh with fewer miles on him.
