Hmm, I disagree. I think the Cowboys game was the biggest game of this regime and probably the most meaningful game of the past decade for the Bills. Big stage, big underdog (for no reason), and the Cowboys have some serious firepower on offense. And we creamed them.

I don't agree that the Bills needed the Pittsburgh game. There were plenty of scenarios to get in to the playoffs without that win. The Steelers went 8-8 and the Bills went 10-6, but sat their starters week 17.

Plus, I think it's more meaningful to beat Dak, Elliot, and Cooper than it is to beat the crap the Steelers had to put out there on offense with Big Ben hurt and their stars gone (Brown and Bell).

Cowboys game was them showing they can play on the big stage. In Jerry’s world, on thanksgiving. Pittsburgh clinched the playoffs.

He's a difference maker and a Singeltary/Taylor tandem at rb would be sick

My only issue is what does that say to Devin? The Bills just spent a 3rd round pick on him last year. He played great his rookie year in somewhat limited reps. I think the Bills just need to get a bigger back to pair with Devin. Like Moss or Dillon.

I think the NFL is actually going to have a lot of pressure to have a season, even if that means in empty stadiums.

Training Camps don't even start til the very end of July... long way away, and even if Training Camp is the first time teams meet, that month + of work is ultimately the offseason work that matters.

I really think there will be a season.

But honestly, who knows? Today was the deadliest day in our country for the disease so it doesn't exactly look like it's slowing down.

Of course the NFL will have pressure to start. Goodell and the owners will want to collect any money they can. If they don’t have fans, they’ll just charge PPV like prices for the games.

    N martin

    Ronnie Stanley

    Tuitt

    Tranquil

    Julian love

ND has put out some quality players last 5 to 7 years. I can only think of one player drafted high who busted from ND recently, michael floyd.. and that had more to do with addiction and attitude than his actual game

That dude who made up his girlfriend with cancer, or got cat fished or whatever. Manti T’eo. What’s he doing these days?

They can definitely sign all three. My point is that Beane and McDermott have done a great job of building a team with little to no long term cap commitments. Now they are going to have to sign some of their own homegrown guys to long term deals after year 4.  How they handle that situation will tell us a lot about the regime. Its like phase three. Phase 1, get rid of old regime garbage, phase 2 build and draft well, phase 3 sign your own and add.

Milano will be the cheapest of the three. He is awesome for us but a 6 ft 220 pound off ball linebacker is a very scheme specific player and he would only fit a handful of teams. So I think he eventually stays. I don’t think he is that expendable because when he’s been hurt, there is a clear drop off in the defense. But to your point, he would be more replaceable than the other two.

This season should tell us a lot about who is worth keeping. If they take the next step and win the division, a playoff game or 3, then obviously you do what you have to do to keep as many players around. But if they stumble, then if you’re Beane and McDermott you look at more guys as replaceable.

I love Dion and I think he is going to be the first real test case for this regime. They spent some good draft capital on a very young, somewhat raw player with really good measurables. They’ve developed him and he has now become a really good left tackle. He’s turning 26 in April, so still very young and has room to grow. These guys talked about building through the draft and keeping their own. I’m interested to see where they value Dion, if they set a number or will they pay market value?

I am interested to see if they are going to truly be the build and sign long term type of regime, or the let guys go and draft replacements regime like the Pats. What they do with Dion, White, and Milano will tell us a lot.

If they have to make that decision, you let Milano go.

Respectfully disagree with the word "need".

Beane will draft BPA. That may be any of the aforementioned, but not sure edge or OL are warranted at 54. I think there stands a much better chance of WR or RB fitting the bill.

I get the whole BPA thing, but what if a player of similar value can be had in later rounds? There might not be an edge guy in round 2, but I think a CB or OL will be. If the Bills draft a RB in round 2 after investing a 3rd in Devin last year, I think that would be a poor allocation of draft resources. Same goes for a receiver since they traded their 1st for Diggs.
