i just disagree with not making RB a priority and blaming blocking/scheme.  Motor looked sig worse last year talent/ability wise.  Moss looked promising.  I like the Breida signing a lot.  I can see him replacing Motor more than Yeldon.  I figured we would get another in udfa at least for depth.

All that RB talk aside, 1T is a glaring need and the strategy so far appears to be hoping harry and star can perform adequately.

The stats back up that the RBs weren’t the problem with the run game. Singletary and Moss were both in the top 10 in the league for yards after contact.

Well, this makes sense for New England. I do think he may be a solid starter, but in no way will this push the needle forward far enough for the Pats to overcome Josh and the Bills. He will never be the QB Josh is.

He’s not in the same universe as Josh. Not much of an athlete and needs all day protection. He’s not at Alabama anymore.

I like trading down, but there's no way Beane will trade down.   He'll either trade up or stay put.   Trade up if there's a guy they rate really high who fills a perceived need.   That's like there's a guy at 22 who they rated 12.   Something like that.

Or they'll take someone at 30?   Why?  Because there will almost certainly be someone they rated around 20 available then.  Why?   Well, because quarterbacks are so highly valued, some teams will take QBs who aren't really rated as first rounders but who are too valuable to them to pass on.   Plus, teams rate players differently.   Plus, there are some really talented guys, first round talent, that don't have the character, the emotional makeup that McBeane are looking for, and those guys aren't on Beane's board at all.   The result of all of that is that by 30, some guys McBeane really like will still be there.

Completely agree. Some act as if every teams board is the same. The boards are going to be different for a variety of reasons as stated. There will be someone available at 30 for Beane who may be 20 on his board but 35 on another team’s.

I really think he stays at 30.

This made me laugh.  I guess it's true that the picks helped in the Diggs trade, but it's not like the Diggs trade wouldn't have happened if the Bills hadn't made the Teller trade.

I don't think the Teller trade was a disaster or to use your word, a "fail," but it IS amusing the extent to which people will go to defend Beane.   I think Beane has been excellent, but nobody gets them all right.  If Beane had a chance to undo that one, I'm sure he would.

Mickey Mantle struck out once in a while, and so does Beane.

True that no one is perfect, but Beane is the best in the business, as voted on by his peers.
