  1. Fair warning: From this point forward, anybody who brings any of their Bills stuff into this Ravens/Chiefs thread is immediately going bye-bye
  2. I'm going to start tossing people who can't keep this stuff out of this thread.
  3. Please keep the Bills kvetching out of this thread. There are plenty of other places on the forum for that. Thank you.
  4. Y'all need even more incentive to root for it? I'll retire as moderator
  5. This is going to be a long process so get your mind right and be ready for it. Hang in there, brother; we're pulling for all of you.
  6. If you still haven't read The Martian, you really should. I agree they did a fine job with the film but the book really is.......out of this world (sorry, couldn't resist). Also, when I suggested Richard K Morgan, I maybe should have suggested Altered Carbon instead. It might be more to your liking as it is more of a SF noir mystery than the other two I suggested, which lean more toward the military/scifi genre. Just a genuinely great writer no matter which you prefer.
  7. If you like it, it's good. And that's all there is to it.
  8. I can't even count the number of books I re-read occasionally. My favorite piece of historical fiction is a trilogy over 2000 pages long and I've probably read it at least 4-5 times. And if you think I'm nuts, he wrote the entire 17,000 page manuscript by hand. It's in the Sci-Fi HOF along with the ink pots and cartridges he used. Talk about putting some love in your cooking. 🤯 Fellow sci-fi geek here: Here is a few things you might really like: Children of Time - Adrian Tchaikovsky Live Free or Die - John Ringo Broken Angels / Woken Furies - Richard K Morgan Cryptonomicon - Neal Stephenson ( part of the infamous Cap'n Crunch chapter ) Also, if you're a big fan of Kurt, his son Mark Vonnegut wrote a fascinating book called The Eden Express about his experience with manic depression and schizophrenia.
  9. I think the throw to the endzone was just him running out of time and space and tossing a prayer in hopes that somebody would make a play similar to Shakir's earlier TD while also making sure that a turnover was not in play.
  10. Actually it's more of a waste of time to interact with self-important knuckleheads from other fanbases who think they know more than they do and think it's appropriate to come in and crap on threads with nonsense gibberish in a forum where their presence is marginally tolerable after a season-ending loss. Read the room, know your role and stay in your lane.
  11. You're wasting your time trying to use still photos of active action to try to convince me that Allen is at fault for Chris Jones making a strong play on a LT that Allen rightfully trusts.
  12. Because if he adjusts in the pocket the timing is off and the throw is late. And I'm not exactly sure how Allen let his LT get pushed, but if you had been watching Dawkins for the past month you'd know he has been 100% worthy of Allen's trust. You're simply wrong about a player that you know less about than anybody here.
  13. If he slides right, the throw is late. Trusting his All-Pro tackle to hold his backside block, which he does 99% of the time, was perfectly acceptable.
  14. Actually they didn't. They ran a route combo looking to get somebody open for the first down, but all three guys ran their routes short of the sticks and the design did little to create stress or confusion in the secondary and the Chiefs had everybody covered easily.
  15. Yeah, I believe that is now the second time I have mentioned it in regards to a play that hasn't been discussed much. The first time was right after the game. "On third down they had three guys running crossers short of the sticks so Allen held it rolling out and ran out of real estate." Sorry about that; hope you can forgive my relentless crusade of two posts in one week. Despite your assumption of my stupidity, I'm well aware of what the Bills would have done on 4th and short. I'm also well aware of the exceedingly large volume of plays Allen has made outside the pocket in critical situations, particularly moving to his right, and am glad he made an effort to extend the play and not just get rid of it and put the Bills in a 4th down situation. A situation that would have been anywhere between 4th/2 and 4th/9.
  16. Total book nerd here. Just finished Rick Atkinson's The Guns at Last Light, the third in a three book series that starts in N Africa, continues through Italy and finishes in Western Europe. An outstanding and even-handed work if anybody is interested in the subject. Now starting a re-read of Neal Stephenson's Termination Shock. While not necessarily his very best work, it's still rock solid. For my money he is the best fiction writer on the planet so even his "not my best" is far superior to almost everyone else.
  17. You can get over it because nobody was open for a first down on that play.
  18. My buddy let his kids have a party at the house which ended up in massive hot dog fight around the bonfire that night(probably 50-100 hot dogs). In the morning there were no hot dogs left in the yard but there were at least a half dozen large piles of regurgitated whole unchewed hot dogs scattered throughout the house, courtesy of a big fat yellow Lab.
  19. I just think that position group is so important (and prone to injury) that you need multiple guys you can count on there.
  20. He's one of the 2-3 greatest coaches I've ever seen, but if anybody gives him what he is asking for I think they are doing both him and themselves a disservice.
  21. At no point in the history of football has S ever been more important than DT. If the Bills don't find a way to retain Daquan Jones, they have seriously ***** up, imo.
  22. While I do think the Bills were a bit too aggressive coming out of the 2:00 warning, this is simply not true. KC was defending the sticks at that point, which is part of the reason that Shakir was coming free on the post.
  23. He was one of my childhood heroes. That was heartbreaking to watch.
