I think a more intriguing "what if" is if Bills went for two after the last Davis touchdown.  You're up 2.  If you are successful, you're up 4 and KC has to score a touchdown to win.  KC is utterly deflated at that point and if you have any "special" two point try, you pull it out - Allen power sweep, Knox pass to Allen, etc.  If it's unsuccessful, your D can't play it safe or it loses the game.  To me, it's like going for it on fourth down.  "OK boys, here is where we win the game."

Remember Tennessee? They didn’t have the balls to do it

Worst part is that any QB could do what Mahomes did in those 13 seconds.  Zack Wilson could dump the ball off to Hill, unguarded, for 19 quick yards - and then throw to a wide open Kelce for 25 more.

Two days later and I'm still in disbelief that our coaches lost us that game.

How they just gave those guys a free run off the line is beyond comprehension.

Not agreeing we should change to a 3-4, but saying we need a stud pass rusher is like someone else saying “we just need an elite QB”.  They’re rarely ever available, and if they are, you’re going to pay…heavy.   Rams punted on their future to get a Von Miller rental.

They didn’t punt on their future, they gave up a 2nd and 3rd round pick, for a top 10 edge rusher, you weren’t getting that impact out of those draft slots.

  4. I don’t know why people keep making excuses for Diggs, yes he gets double sometimes, this “triple covered” is bull.  If you honestly dedicated 3 defenders to one guy, you wouldn’t have anybody left for the rest of the 11 guys out there.   The fact y’all lap it up like a kitten drinks from a saucer is sad.  Get this one fact through your heads, Diggs does not scare defenses.  He’s not resoundingly fast, he is small, he gets open with great route running.  He’s a good, not great player.  He’s a low end #1, he’s the best the Bills have, but that’s not saying much.   Force feed him the ball and he’ll catch it.

This forum over rates the WR position so much it’s comical.  Aside from Diggs, you have a 30 year old slot receiver that’s never had a 1000 yard game.  You have a washed up Smurf that hasn’t had 1000 yards in 6 years and only had 3 1k seasons in 11 seasons.  McKenzie doesn’t even count.  Then you have Davis who is the only size/speed combo on the active roster.

I hope he was referring to Edmunds not returning.

The guy running away from the receiver on a crucial big gain? No no, he’s too good in coverage to lose.

Well, if he retires, I'm so glad we drafted All-Pro Creed Humphry last year instead of invisible Boogie Basham...oh, wait.

Looks even worse when they are on the same field.

Well, he's pushing 30. Made a ton of money. Has a concussion history and just had a new baby.

As a Bills fan I hate to think he may retire "early". He would be missed. However if he wants to enjoy life with his family and walk away before more brain injuries...I get that too.

If I were him I’d be done.  Real life is way more important than football or any job for that matter.

How do you know any of these guys can capably replace Schoen - all the things he does and all the things he excels at?

My thought is that a team is only as good as it's players.  That means the scouting/personnel team too.  We don't want to lose any of our best players and that definitely includes Schoen.

I have full confidence in McDermott but I would still worry if Allen left the Bills for another team.

How do you know what he actually does better than those guys?

Every place I look Brown is listed at 311. Where do you get 290? Since he is almost 24,he might be done growing.

Done growing for sure, but body composition can change and weight can go up or down pretty easy.  The guy looks solid, but almost everyone coming out of college can gain on strength with NFL trainers.

  8. You always have a shot when you have an elite QB.  That said, Allen’s style of play does not lend itself to a Brady like career, more like a Big Ben, so I’m saying we have about 10 years of high level play left.  The key is how long you can keep a team around guys like him.  It can’t become any more Josh Allen and a bunch of guys in matching uniforms or he won’t be able to get it done.   It will be a Rodgers situation.

IF the D line can improved next season and you get Tre back, you have a shot for a couple more years.  The cap will be going up enough to retain most of the key pieces and you have to draft well.   We probably are seeing the last year for 2-3 guys who “start” or play a key role on the D line.  They have to be replaced and the replacement will need to cost less than them.  I expect Diggs to get a contract tweak to keep him happy, which means they have to think about Beasley possibly leaving.  Sanders could come back in that slot role for less I would think.  So that will free up some capital.  They have to deal with Edmunds or his replacement soon too.  There’s still a need for CB, and you need to re-up Hyde.   Basically, it’s going to be a lot of shuffling of dollars to field almost the same team, the draft is going to have to fill holes quickly.

    Kelce       6-5, 255, 4.61 (40)

    Edmunds  6-5, 253, 4.54 (40)

If Tremaine is such a world class coverage linebacker, then let him be the hero by playing TK man all day. Chuck him at the line.

Yeah, but I’d like to win, not prove that Edmunds is who we thought he was.

I'll never understand the Watson hype and why any team would want to give up anything of note to get a guy who quit on his current team after signing a binding mega million dollar contract, and all the off field issues still swirling around him.

I also don't see the Pats giving up on Mac Jones, he had one of the best rookie seasons of all time and clearly the best of the bunch so far this year.

Yes he didn't deliver in the playoffs but you can argue very few would have given the circumstances of the Buffalo stampede that hit the Patriots.

I think the best course of action for the Pats is to continue to build around Jones and they can certainly be right back in the division and championship conversation next year.

I think it’s pretty fair to say you haven’t watched Watson if you don’t get the hype.  He’s put up top 5 numbers with bottom 5 talent around him.  He’s a special player, arguably enter than our own Josh Allen.  That said, he’s pretty obviously a giant ####### and I would not want him as the face of my team.  I also certainly don’t want him in our division.

  11. I would love to have Fitz back here.  It’s obvious he isn’t taking JA’s job, there’s zero chance of it, he would be a true back up, if he’s cool with that reality at this point in his career, which one would think he would be, it would be great to have him here for the next couple years, assuming MT moves on.

  12. I don’t think Josh has a snowballs chance in hell of MVP this year with the statistical regression along with more losses, all of which can essentially be put in his lack of performance in the last minutes.

That said, IDGAF about any of that.  If we get the QB that’s been playing the last few weeks, through these playoffs, there’s a chance finally win the SB.   To me, this week is the biggest hurdle.  KC is still the AFC champ until de-throned, gotta go to their house and take it from them.  The early season win means nothing now, their early season struggles mean nothing now, you have to go throw down in the playoffs and come out with the win.   If they can get it done, I like the chances against either of the Bengals or the Titans.  They should have curb stomped the Titans this season and the D couldn’t hold up, the Bengals are very good, but beatable for sure.

I think Mac's best days are essentially the same as we saw this year. His arm isn't going to get stronger, he isn't going to get faster, so what is the upside. This isn't to say that they don't stick with him, because I think they do, but saying the best years are ahead is a bit of reach, I think he is essentially as good as he will get.

Well in fairness, Allen was never going to get more accurate, was never going to see the whole field and would never be more than an athlete trying to play QB.  That thought pattern failed.

Jones may not pan out, but it’s too early to know.
