Unfortunately Jets QB Position Up for Grabs
millbank replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mangini is simply saying this year is over and he will look at all things to get better next season. One comment Mangini made last week was the important lesson of not taking things personal he learned from being in New England. A good coach must separate the personal from what is best for team. In Pennington's case , Mangini does appreciate his efforts but next year is a new year he will need proove himself all over again, and if Jets can get better at any position they will. -

Howard Stern Bonus His defection marked a turning point for the nascent business of satellite radio, with both Sirius and larger rival XM Satellite Radio (XMSR) paying millions more to sign other talent and attract listeners to their subscription model. Sirius had about 600,000 subscribers when it signed Stern in 2004 for a contract valued at $500 million over five years. At the time, analysts had forecast the company would grow to about 3.5 million subscribers by the end of 2006. Sirius and Stern agreed to a bonus if the number of subscribers exceeded that forecast by more than 2 million. Last week, the company said it ended 2006 with more than 6 million subscribers, at the middle of a forecast range made in December, triggering the bonus payment of about 22.1 million Sirius shares. Sirius was trading at about $3.80 Tuesday. -Not a bad year for him, $100 million in salary and a $83 million bonus. . Imagine he earns money from other activities.

Leafs Removed from Cup They can't win enough to guarantee a playoff spot. And now they can't even win when it comes to winning. Only one National Hockey League club could be so perpetually luckless, and you guessed it — it's the Toronto Maple Leafs. On the trophy that symbolizes NHL supremacy, and a good chunk of Canadiana, there is no longer a mention of the Leafs' championship wins of 1942, 1945, 1947, 1948, 1949 and 1951. Greats such as Frank McCool, Ted Kennedy, Babe Pratt, Turk Broda, Syl Apps, Howie Meeker and Bill Barilko are not on the Cup any more as members of the Maple Leafs. Instead, the ring around the Stanley Cup that included the six Leafs championships (along with those won in the early 1940s to mid-1950s by the Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins) was recently removed so that a new ring could be added for the Carolina Hurricanes from 2005-06 and future winners.

Bambi and Thumper Thought these photo's looked interesting. I wonder if many folks have encountered more deer this winter thus far with the milder weather. It seems every morning and night at the edge of the road we are seeing them last evening we seen a group of about ten trying to cross the roadway. Drivers need be extremely careful.

Jim Lampley arrested for domestic abuse.
millbank replied to Fan in San Diego's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Jim Lampley "I am innocent of the charge of domestic abuse that has been leveled against me and will vigorously defend myself," Lampley said in a statement issued through spokesman Howard Bragman. "I have tremendous respect for the justice system as a whole and for the San Diego courts and district attorney's office specifically. "I'm confident that the process will prove that I'm not guilty of this charge. I thank my friends and family for their support during this difficult time, and ask for the understanding and patience from the media until my legal situation allows me to discuss this in more depth." Once poop of this nature is thrown its most difficult to get off . I hope it isnt true. -

Paul Mcartney On Drugs I’m Looking Through You 1965, Rubber Soul Ripped on weed, McCartney sees deeply into his then girlfriend, model Jane Asher, and decides she’s a phony. This story has been told by McCartney himself. Yellow Submarine 1966, Revolver On the surface, a child’s rhyme; but the song was taken as a winking assertion of hippie, psychedelic, drop out escape from the dreary mainstream culture into the upcoming party utopia. It was even adapted by some new left activists as a theme song for those seeking an alternative culture. With A Little Help From My Friends 1967, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band He gets high with a little help from his friends. What does he see when he turns out the lights? Fixing A Hole 1967, Sgt. Peppers Taken by some to be a heroin song (fixing being a term used for shooting up], but also works as a contemplative pothead song or, for that matter, a plain old contemplative person’s song. Another song lyric with a drop out vibe. Lovely Rita 1967, Sgt. Peppers “When are you free to take some tea with me?” George Harrison has commented that The Beatles frequently used tea as a pseudonym for pot. On the other hand, they were Limeys, so maybe tea is just tea.

No Tsn is owned by CTVGlobemedia who own amongst other assets, The Globe and Mail newspaper in Canada, CTV, television network and various radio stations including Chum. Espn does have at this time 30% interest in TSN. I would imagine tournament organizers offered broadcast rights around the world specific to each Country, in Canada Tsn has had a agreement for many years and I gather no U.S outlet was interested. I would imagine TSN is not allowed by their agreement with tournament to broadcast feeds into United States. -

My apologies for posting this thread. It was meant entirely to be informative and not at all to disparage anyone. I am rather surprised so many Americans who claim to be great hockey fans care so little about the nations greatest young players. What also makes the World Juniors a must-see event stems from the fact that it is hockey's ultimate coming-out party. The World Juniors provides scouts and fans the first glimpse of the NHL's future stars. Team Canada's roster has included Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux – who need no introduction – along with Boston's Joe Thornton, Paul Kariya of Anaheim, Joe Sakic of Colorado, Trevor Linden of Vancouver, Jarome Iginla of Calgary, Theo Fleury of Chicago, Owen Nolan of San Jose, Jose Theodore of Montreal, Eric Lindros of the New York Rangers, Philadelphia's Eric Desjardins and Atlanta's Dany Heatley to mention a scant few of the stars who wore Canada's colors at the World Juniors. American alumni include Brian Leetch of the Rangers, Tony Amonte of Phoenix, Keith Tkachuk and Doug Weight of the St. Louis Blues, Tom Poti of the Rangers, Mike Modano of Dallas, Nashville's Mike Dunham and Philadelphia's John LeClair. Peter Forsberg of the Colorado Avalanche and Montreal's Saku Koivu are only two of the Who's Who of international players who showcased their talent at the World Juniors. Others include NHL stars such as Jaromir Jagr of Washington, Markus Naslund of Vancouver, Pavel Bure of the Rangers, Alexander Mogilny of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit's Sergei Fedorov, Mats Sundin of the Maple Leafs, Mattias Ohlund of Vancouver, Igor Larionov of Detroit, Teppo Numminen of the Coyotes and Marian Gaborik of Minnesota, along with Ilya Kovalchuk of Atlanta. Add Ovechkin, Crosby , this year Johnson of team U.S.A, Toews of Canada. The Alumni of NHL great players who became noticed first by the world at large would fill pages. Trust me many the world over care very much about this tournament and frankly pay very little attention to those who don't . -
