  2. Britney Spears Hair Britney Spears' lopped-off locks can be yours for just $US1 million ($1.27 million) on eBay - direct from the salon owner whose clippers the newly-shorn star used during her weekend meltdown. Esther Tognozzi of Esther's Haircutting Studio in Tarzana, California, is hawking the high-priced hairball - along with the pop princess' leftover Red Bull energy drink and her blue Bic lighter. "We still don't know why Britney chose our shop. We'll probably never know," said the shop owner's husband, JT Tognozzi.

  5. Paraglider A sudden thunderstorm caught paragliders training for an upcoming event in Australia unawares Wednesday... hurtling two them to flight-level altitudes, and killing one. Amazingly, German paraglider Ewa Wisnerka was able to recover after being flung to an estimated 32,000 feet by updrafts stemming from the merging of two powerful thunderstorm cells. After blacking out from the high altitude and extreme cold, she regained consciousness in time to land safely -- 40 miles from her original launch site. "You can’t imagine the power. You feel like nothing, like a leaf from a tree going up," Wisnerka told Australian radio, according to the Daily Telegraph. A GPS unit and radio equipment Wisnerka carried recorded the details of her harrowing ordeal. Within 15 minutes, the violent winds carried her from about 2,500 feet to 32,000 feet. Her attempts to avoid the thunderstorm failed... leading her to conclude her chances of survival were "almost zero," before the effects of oxygen deprivation took hold. She was unconscious for more than 30 minutes... while her glider rode the winds, uncontrolled. "I was shaking all the time. The last thing I remember it was dark. I could hear lightning all around me," she said, adding she encountered orange-sized hailstones on her trip upward.

  12. One Dollar Coin U.S Mint The presidential coin is the size, weight and metal composition of the Sacagawea $1 coin. Collectors at the event were excited about the coin as a collectable but had doubts about its viability as a replacement for the paper dollar. Chase Curtis picked up some coins for his son George's collection. Curtis, who had lived in Hong Kong where coins had replaced all small denomination bills, believes coins can do a much better job than paper money. "But the government would need to phase back paper first," he said. Others were cautious about their praise. Zak Walker of Brooklyn said the $1 Presidential coin was "very interesting and a good idea." But, he added, "I don't think it will catch on," Walker said. Because coins can last longer in circulation than paper money, the Mint has a reason for hoping they do catch on. A 2002 Government Accounting Office report concluded that if dollar coins replaced the paper dollar, the government would save $500 million annuall

  16. This man really did travel the world playing the large and small places , I seen him in the fifties in Hamilton , at Victoria Park. This just a small city park with a small grandstand that held about 200 people a most , the remainder of people ringed the field to watch, many, many people deep. Remember a city works crew man named Jerry who was in charge on chalking the field , problem was the Park House was just across the street from Ballpark, the lines were as straight as how many beers Jerry had, sometimes foul territory was most liberal.
