Houston scores 2 ahead 2-0 in second
millbank replied to millbank's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tough deal as young man playing against the bigger older guys , remember being eight years old , catcher of about 4 ft tall blocking the plate against the fat kid on other team 12 years old almost 6 feet, was kind a tough to hang in there... was a good lesson on facing things and standing up, it was only pain after all...... Really interesting you played against Bagwell, how did you make out? -

Both teams are good guys, teams to root for, Atlanta so excellent for so long, Houston just never winning , Like the idea of Clemens going against either of his former teams , Yankee's or Red Sox. just imagine a game seven Roger against Schilling for the Series at Fenway... Two Atlanta homeruns and its Houston 3 - Atlanta 2 after five....... Four run seventh inning Ka boom Bagwell two run homer and its Houston 8 - Atlanta 2 -
Yankees fans will need more than a T-shirt to taunt the Red Sox. A day before Boston and New York started the AL championship series, Major League Baseball recalled a T-shirt it had sanctioned because it rubbed Red Sox fans the wrong way. The message on the shirt that drew the negative reaction read: "Hey Red Sox ... Who's your daddy?" The shirt bears both a Yankees logo and a picture of a red pacifier with the letter "B" on it -- a reference to remarks Red Sox ace Pedro Martinez made after a recent loss to Boston's longtime rivals. Who's your Daddy

The Astro's just scored two runs in the second innning, to lead Atlanta 2-0 would be great to see the Roger get back to World Series..... Edit : Houston 3 - Atlanta 0 after three

Oh yeah, McNally will fix everything!!!!!!

It is good to remember as team was constructed they just barely were able to fit the roster under the cap. Its my guess they made the call for this year that Mcnally could work with what they had and for line to be serviceable for this season and next year fill the needs on the line. Fact is such a plan would not have looked so bad if they had got any breaks whatsoever, who was going to even dream of losing the first four all so close. As La said to be fair lets see what they look like by this time next year and for sure if Mr. Donahoe has not made any moves to improve this line, it will be time to get out the pitch forks tar and feathers. I also disagree with most here that Mike Williams will not be a good lineman, lets just see how he looks at season's end. -

[OT] How's everyone's Canadian Thanksgiving?
millbank replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanksgiving in Canada -- What gives? Most of us will have noticed that Canadian Thanksgiving comes well in advance of our neighbours to the south, and for all the predictable reasons: colder climate, earlier harvest, and that persistant urge to accomplish something (anything) before "they" do. But the history of our Thanksgiving is stuffed with surprises. We did actually have the FIRST Thanksgiving, a full 43 years before the pilgims at Plymouth Rock, but, in true Canadian fashion, there was something wrong with it. That first North American Thanksgiving would have been "celebrated" in sub-zero temperatures on a barren, windswept moonscape by a muttering, mutinous crowd wondering whether "the chief" had all his marbles. In 1576, Sir Martin Frobisher set out to find the Spice Islands. He landed instead on Baffin Island. The complete absence of trees and a pitiless terrain of unrelieved rock and permafrost barely dampened his determination to establish the first English settlement in North America. Not yet disabused of his perennial optimism, he spent two years mining "gold ore". When it was well and duly hauled back to England, it assayed out as iron pyrite. Fool's Gold. By 1710 we were back on track with this Thanksgiving thing. Records at Port Royal, Nova Scotia, note an October 10 thanksgiving celebration to mark the return of the town to the English. In 1763, Halifax celebrated the end of the Seven Years War with a similar ceremony. In 1879, Parliament formally declared November 6 as a day of Thanksgiving, and so it remained until after the Armistice of WWI, when Thanksgiving and Remembrance Day would have conflicted thematically during the same week. When Thanksgiving was assigned to its present second Monday in October, former Ontario Premier E.C. Drury, head of the United Farmers of Ontario, decried the move as a ploy by city-dwellers to move a farmer's holiday "up" the calendar so they could enjoy a long weekend while the weather was likely to still be fine (at the farmer's expense). Canadian - eh? Happy Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving -
I have a great idea for TBD fans.

No thank you , i will continue to root for Bills, watch Willis and Evans improve from week to week and learn their lessons, in time JP will get his touches as well, coach Mcnally will be working with offensive line and they will slowly improve and we will know what needs to be changed, rather than just over reacting. The head Coach to will assert his will, as he did yesterday in giving the O -line hell. Every year we want our team to win it all , but watching a team grow and build , learn their lessons, and fill in the holes and then succeed if very special as well , and these Bills will in spite of the current gloom......... -
If its possible to get a second round pick for Travis it would be doing very well, and given the cap restrictions for next year perhaps the best way to go. Lets keep in mind Bills are going to need find money to re-sign a few players, having two second round picks , perhaps a good offensive line center and a offensive takle just might go a long way to resolving some of the current problems...

i agree with you Kasper, the first four weeks have been a bummer losing all four but its not that they were outclassed and out of the games, fact is they could have been just as easily 4 - 0 , this is not a terrible team, its a team that so far has had terrible results.

What could we get for Henry at this point?
millbank replied to PastaJoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The trade deadline is a week this Tuesday. One has to hope Mr. Donahoe has been out there putting out feelers as to what they can get, sometimes its all timing a injury to a back on team thinking they can go places Travis may reap good value . Travis because of his low cap hit and still a few good years in him with a halfway decent line, should get a second round pick to a cap restricted needy team. -
Let's List All The Positives Of Being 0-4
millbank replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They will want Moulds to stay but do something about his contract, he is still a very good receiver, but his contract need be re- worked, or yes he very well may be gone Mcgahee, Evans , Moulds , JP are a positive to the Bills future the three young guys and a older player with some experience. -
Let's List All The Positives Of Being 0-4
millbank replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Two positives in game were Willis played more and had some success as did Evans, both these players most important to Bills future. In time these guys speed is going to be a great influence and help for our offense. I think its very positive the thought of a young mobile quarterback being able to use three very speedy guys in Moulds , Evans and Willis. As much as its a bummer tonight and for many of the up coming games this season many lessons will be learned which will be great for the future. -
