  15. I think this more a signal to team that Tom Donahoe does have Coach Mularkeys back, it was not but a last few weeks many talking of how Coach Mularkey just a lackey and seeming lap dog for Mr. Donahoe, a man Mr. Donahoe can get to do his bidding with very little actual say about team. Such a relationship naturally can cause a lack of respect in the room, cutting a player by all reports who was a well liked guy but also a guy who like to play pranks and joke around. That the Coach staff removed such a guy from the room of a 0-4 team is a good way to tell them the fun is over and the coach has control or room they need not look over his back to Tom Donahoe. If the case is coach Mularkey was given the space by Mr. Donahoe to do this, it’s a good sign he has grown and learned and perhaps a head coach who will have respect of team rather than thought of a functional intermediary. imo
  16. Small article about Bobby Shaw meeting with Patriots: Veteran receiver Bobby Shaw, who was released by Buffalo Wednesday, was at Gillette Stadium yesterday meeting with the Pats coaches and other personnel. If all goes well, it's possible Shaw could be in uniform in time for Sunday's game against Seattle. Bobby Shaw
  17. From Dr. Z I have always felt that it is too much for one human being, to run the sidelines and the clock, and manage the game at the same time. Teams have capologists to handle the salary cap. Why not have clockologists, to relieve the head coach of the instant sideline decision, to combine clock management with game strategy as well, everything based on percentages carefully mapped out ahead of time? He would simply say, "Time out, coach," and that would be it. You would have to have the right kind of person, of course. Calm, probably of older vintage, well respected. Not the sort of chap to get flustered, "If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs ..." as Kipling wrote. And then he would have to be the sort of person in whom the coach had the utmost confidence and trust. Sideline harangues are not good for team morale. The Jets, it seems, have found their man. Dick Curl, 64 years old, a veteran of 36 years as an assistant and head coach at practically every level, 11 times a grandfather, low key, non-confrontational. Perfect. Clockologist
  18. Hang in there, got to be tough so close, they really played well up and down the field, its no joke the Bills have prepared us for enduring heart breaking loses....
  19. alas it was a dream Miami 41 --- Cardinals 38 ,, that was a wild game......
  20. John Clayton on now with Schopp and the Bulldog is tellling them the Partiots are talking to Bobby Shaw if they like his character they will sign him......
  21. Do watch the entire news conference hardly was in just a few sound bites Post Game News Conference
  22. It was classy, what else was better way to respond to that particular question one only to bait him.. Later in news conference when asked about pitching on short rest because of Schilliing injury he stated he would do what ever he had to do for his team, to pick up his team-mate who had picked him up, he would do anything pitch in the bull pen if necessary. My guess is many were wishing to see him humiliated and shamed, he faced a national media looking to chew every word , turn it to what ever spin sells more papers and he very effectvely shut them up , with great class and good manners. No he answered the questions that pertained to himself and also the ones of the team and spoke well. I am rooting for Yakee's and over the years Pedro's persona has been hardly one to like , but its also right to give someone their due when they stand up and do something right. Last night Pedro lost a game, but he hardly was a loser. imo
  23. Pedro when asked how it felt when fans were yelling who's my Daddy,,, " It made me feel good" the reporter laugh,, Pedro responds why are you laughing before I have given you my answer..,," It made me feel good, that I had the entire attention of all 55,000 Yankee fans and New York,,,,, later on I am thank ful just a few years ago I was sitting under a mango tree without 50 cents to rub together and there I was now with the attention of all of New York....... Very excellent answer and response, for a guy thought to be a jerk , handled it with great class good for him....... outstanding
  24. when john hit that , Pedro was up in the 80's , John has won a batting championship and two World Series he has been there before, excellent player , excellent person....
  25. You got to think Yankees have the best scouting in baseball , seems come playoff time they are so well prepared , positionig so well , pitchers staying within themselves and pitching to weaknesses, it is not clear how they take it up a notch.... Much baseball ahead though, as Sterling said who would have thought they beat the Sox two best.
