Your contention is that he interviewed for OC positions and didn’t get one, so he decided to go to a bottom dweller team that not only already had hired an OC but also the head coach acts as a secondary OC, essentially giving Hall zero chance to ever be promoted?

And at the same time he left a top tier team that had a brand new OC who could suck and Hall could be promoted?

Surely you see how that makes zero sense?

Both teams went to the playoffs and have several current or former offensive coordinators in front of Hall in the promotion line. It’s a lateral move, but money and personal relationships may have played a large part along with Hall being from the southeast and knowing Pederson for most of his career. 🤷‍♂️. Also…. State taxes and no blizzards.

Sean McDermott simply isn’t good enough. I don’t expect him to ever win the Buffalo Bills a Super Bowl Championship unfortunately for us Bills fans. I hope I am wrong but I am not expecting Seen McDermott to ever change he is a middle of the wrestling card professional wrestler to use a professional wrestling analogy that’s sums up Sean McDermott as a NFL head coach. Sean McDermott is never going to be a WWF Championship champion Hulk Hogan or NWA or WCW Championship champion Ric Flair. Sean McDermott is like a Greg “The Hammer” Valentine type wrestler a great mid card wrestler so a second tier champion WWF Intercontinental Championship champion or NWA US Championship Champion or NWA TV Champion or NWA/WWF Tag Team Champion. I have always felt Sean McDermott would be a great NCAA college football coach teaching about life whatever he isn’t a top card coach unfortunately there is no shame in that. But it’s just too much of a heavy lift for Sean McDermott in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

If you’re that down on this Bills team feel free to live up to your name…. 🤷‍♂️

Em, 13 personnel is a fun option, but unlike Baltimore in 2019 who had the horses, we have Morris and not sure if we want him over a healthy Gabe.

Don’t forget there is a 21 option with Harris and Cook who is a pass catching option.  The point is we have more variable options this year with the talent we’ve added vs. I know D Hop would’ve made. Better 11 personnel option.

Let’s also remember that Gilliam is also more of an H-back than a true TE or FB. That also provides flexibility whether you’d call it 22 or 13 personnel. It provides some interesting options for motion and formation shifts that could catch teams off guard.

I love how he fits. He can drop in coverage as well and take up a lot of space with his length.

I’m curious if they’ll be returning Alexander’s old role to the defensive mix this year.

Last season, Aaron Donald missed 6 games at the end of the year.

Leonard Floyd had 4 sacks during that stretch.  So it's not just the attention that Donald commands.

And even though the Bills don't have anyone the caliber of Donald on our D-Line, we are still far beyond what Floyd had next to him on the Chicago Bears.

I think he just took longer to get his feet under him than some other guys. Akiem Hicks and Kahlil Mack are some solid guys to play beside.

Some things I liked about it.

-Has McGovern and Torrence in and both do good as expected in pass pro. Allen is sitting in the pocket a lot which I strongly feel is going to be the case this season.

-Lot of 2 TE sets with Kincaid and Knox.

-when we got 3 wide slot of Harty.

-Allen has tough game which I feel is realistic with Fangio.

-Has a lot of Bills focus on run game.

    -Low scoring tough defensive game.

-Von in, good rotation on dline.

-Dorian William's at MLB. Highlights his speed and physicality on some plays.

    Great sim! Worth a watch!

Last time Allen played a Fangio defense he put up 390 yards, 4TDs, and 0 turnovers. 🤷‍♂️

Eh, this whole thing needs to be taken with a grain of salt. The only thing I take out of this is Garrett Wilson, who was facing number 1 cbs, is going to be a problem.

Seriously. Watson too. That kid has massive growth potential. Hopefully Wilson is substantially closer to his ceiling.

How would you describe McD's status with the Bills?  A serious question.  We have 13 seconds, the Cincy game, and some duds in the regular season.  I'm not calling for his head at all.  This was an organization in pretty bad shape when he arrived so I do recognize his efforts and results playoff appearances and division titles.

Regular season duds happen all the time. Hell, the Packers in route to a Super Bowl lost to the Colts who were in route to Peyton Manning….

No doubt 13 seconds is an issue, but the Cinch game I can give a pass to considering all the injuries, emotions and turmoil surrounding the season. That said…. Can’t let that type of issue go again. The defensive passivity needs to end.

We play the Giants though.  Go to a team like the Saints or Panthers would be good with me.

The flipside though is they probably wouldn’t poach Davis if they had Hopkins on a 2-3 year deal.

Yes, either us or the NFC.

    F the Chiefs.

And definitely F the Jets. Last thing I want is sports media jets hype to get more pervasively annoying.

When rumors were heating up that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez were going to buy the Mets, I was 100% prepared to dump the Mets if it came to fruition.

My mind was made up that I’d switch to the Red Sox (because Fenway is the same distance from me as Citifield and I love Fenway) and only switch back if the team was sold to someone else.

    Luckily, it didn’t happen.

Had it happened and I jumped ship, I would not consider myself disloyal, given the context.

I certainly make exceptions for folks who change due to bad ownership moves. I certainly know a few former die hard Skins and Browns fans. If the team relocated, or a new owner is horrendous and drives the franchise into the ground switching loyalties is okay…. But, it should be a one time thing and you can’t switch to your former teams rivals.

I understand the comparison of graphics in this game vs the games that came out, let's just say a long time ago, but compared to games that have an actual story and world built into them, EA basically does the bare minimum too pump out sports games.

They have probably the top 40-50 players get the "we will actually try to make it look like you" treatment but everyone else is going to end up "close enough" while they advertise their new game mechanic that is pointless.

Yup. They haven’t made any meaningful improvements in a decade.

Man….. if they’d have just grabbed Orakpo instead of Maybin that’d have been a damn good time draft; three probowlers and a starting guard from the first four picks. SMMFH. I would have lost a TV that day with the Maybin pick if we hadn’t started drinking when the brisket went on smoke.

Quite possibly the greatest athlete of all-time.

    RIP

From his Wiki: Perhaps more impressive was his success as a multisport athlete. In addition to his football accomplishments, he excelled in basketball, track, and especially lacrosse. As a sophomore, he was the second-leading scorer for the basketball team (15 ppg), and earned a letter on the track team. In 1955, he finished in fifth place in the National Championship decathlon.[15] His junior year, he averaged 11.3 points in basketball, and was named a second-team All-American in lacrosse. His senior year, he was named a first-team All-American in lacrosse (43 goals in 10 games to rank second in scoring nationally). Brown was so dominant in the game, that lacrosse rules were changed requiring a lacrosse player to keep their stick in constant motion when carrying the ball (instead of holding it close to his body).[16][17] There is currently no rule in lacrosse that requires a player to keep his stick in motion. He is in the Lacrosse Hall of Fame.[18] The JMA Wireless Dome has an 800 square-foot tapestry depicting Brown in football and lacrosse uniforms with the words "Greatest Player Ever".[19]

It’s likely Brown or Jim Thorpe. Sad day when a legend passes, especially one who utilized his influence to push  the progression of both sport and culture.

    Kevin Greene

    Troy Polomalu

There's simply way too many Steelers in the HOF. If Polomalu didn't have that long mane of hair, nobody would know who he was.

Greene only played in Pittsburg for three years. He had eight 10+ sack seasons on other teams, and the only players with more career sacks are Bruce, Reggie White, and possibly Deacon Jones. Being third or fourth in career sacks is HOF worthy.

The Vikings are not in cap trouble, but Smith has been unhappy in Minnesota and asked to be released so a parting of the ways seemed necessary. The Browns capitalized on that. He’s 30 (31 this year) and is still playing at an elite level (10 sacks, 15 TFL, Pro Bowl).

They didn’t have the cap space for rookies before the Smith trade. As for elite…. Yes, when healthy. He had 8.5 sacks in the first part of the season. Then he got injured and only had 1.5 sacks in the last 8 games. He’s also had a lower body ailment (usually plays hurt) every season since 2019. Factor in a one year rental and a decent chunk of change… lower compensation.

That said, I certainly wouldn’t mind having him here while Miller recovers. A fast start followed by moving to a rotation or the old Lorax role would have been an awesome addition.

Berry and the Browns stole Smith. Fifth round picks in 2024 & 2025, but they get back a sixth and seventh in 2025. Wow. That is it for a top 10-15 Edge. Just one year at $11.25M though. Ofc they could get a decent comp pick in 2025 if he walks (which is likely). Still, this was a robbery.

It’s what happens when the team can’t afford the cap hit. I’m not sure what the comp pick would have ended up being though considering he’d be a 31-2 year old player with a back surgery. His production also tailed off after he suffered a knee injury against our Bills.

This is a good question and weird answer for me.  My actual answer is No, we should not be as favored to get there as last year...but with an asterisk of saying I actually think our chances of reaching and winning the Super Bowl are better this year now that we know the real deficiencies of last year and the adjustments we made this offseason.

Last year, we were seen as the cream of the crop by most coming off that amazing performance against KC and adding more to our team like Von Miller, while KC lost some guys including Hill.  The NFC wasn't seen as strong at that time either.

This year, our schedule has us playing the consensus 3 toughest divisions in football (Our own, AFC West, and NFC East) plus the Bengals and the Jaguars.  More importantly there are several more teams seen as elite at the top this year compared to last year.  Now you have Eagles, Niners, and in some cases Dallas in the NFC plus the Chiefs, Bengals and Bills in the AFC.

Now this year, while I don't expect us to be as favored to get to the SB, I do think our actual odds of getting there and winning it are better with the offseason moves Beane made for us to get tougher, bigger, and more built to play in those tough bad weather playoff games.

Getting bigger and tougher not only helps against the Bengals and Jets, but should seriously improve how this team matches up against NFC opponents who are more run and defense focused.
