There’s a large correlation between a lack of stars on defense and our inability to close out games on defense.

It’s not that we are chokers. It’s that our defense is full of average NFL talent.

Particularly when those injured players happen to be the guys who seal wins with splash plays.

Sure, he's typically a less than dependable pass catcher but this year has been the worst since his rookie season. It's possible the wrist injury is part of the cause. But that only explains the past two games. And the drop he had on 4th down yesterday was because he tried to trap the ball against his body instead of extending his hands out. Technique, not ability.

Perhaps he tried to trap the ball because of the injury?

Easier to do with a lower (not low, no one in NFL is paid low) paid QB.

Howie is taking advantage of the circumstance and pushing his chips into the middle of the table…. Which is the right thing to do with an excellent- but aging - Oline and Dline talent. Kelce, Johnson, Fletcher Cox, and Graham will all most likely be retired after a year or two. They’re all in for the next two seasons. Then if Hurts proves he can’t elevate young talent they’ll probably move on like they did with Wentz.

Can I add your O line did Allen no favors today. The Pats were without their top 2 pass rushers in Uche and Judon and they had constant pressure on Allen.  I mean Allen shook off what like 3-4 possible sacks because of his sheer size and will?

I think the protection schemes and calls may have been figured out. At the very least they’re not making the right adjustments presnap to counter what defenses are doing. Where all the blame lays is a bit muddy, but that needs to get fixed or this team is in trouble.

Having a defensive HC is asinine!

McD wanted to prove he was better than Frazer - but he is not - the whole scheme blows

Did he? You’re sure he just didn’t see anyone better to run the D after Frazier decided to leave? You’re sure that not having two all pro players and both starting DTs didn’t influence the effectiveness of the defense?

I can see an argument for an offensive HC instead of a defensive HC, but you’ll have to explain why McD calling defensive plays is asinine.

As I said in my original post the O is playing bad right now, but a full-strength D would have 100% won the Pats game today.

They would have, but that’s not the reality right now. The offense needs to start games better, and give the defense time to make adjustments and personnel decisions instead of letting them get tired out and battered.

It's decision time.  Do you think you have what it takes to win it all this year?   Without tre Milano and jones?   If you do then you get josh a weapon as Knox and Davis are trash.

If you don't.  Then we need to get some cap space and picks.

    Who helps that ?

    1.   Poyer?

    2.   Knox?

    3.  Sad to say but Dawkins?

    4.  Oliver?

    5. Epenesa?

    6.  Diggs???   Doubtful I know BUT...

I'm torn to be honest.   I don't think the D has enough to win this year even with josh having another weapon.

    We sell is my guess.

Should we all buy matching track suits & Nikes, make some punch, and wait for a comet?

Maybe it's a move to go undrafted and then he gets to be a Free Agent and have some say in where he starts his career. Might cost him some money upfront, but its all about the 2nd contract anyways. Look at Purdy.

Honestly, I could see this as a move to scare the owners of poorly performing franchises. Nothing wrong with dropping to the teens and going to a decently run team that had an unlucky injury year, or even better going to a team that’s historically well run. Be funny as hell though if he ended up on the Packers and they give him “stock”.

I have always thought he was an underrated back. Always falls forwards, can run tough yards, great pass protector and doesn't turn it over.

I was lukewarm about the bills signing a 33 year old though. Wasn't sure he had much left in the tank. But he has been more than serviceable so far.

This is exactly why I’d like them to start the game with Murray. The pass protection coupled with the power run threat from 12 formations leads to slow linebacker play, especially with play action

When I was growing up the ice coolers were raided at family functions by those too young but sneaky enough to grab one either when adult distracted or by someone refilling ice cooler with more ice.   Genesee beer and Old Germany were a few of the beers in it. Every beer I tried I disliked and later when offered a beer I always turned it down.  It was not until I was in college and doing beer runs to Canada did I discover that all beer did not taste like Niagara County water.

IDK about the old germanys…. But I can definitely verify that if those gennys got a chance to warm up you were playing with fire. 😂

    Dear Lord.

I would have no idea how to source that up here in Canada.

    Sounds spectacular!!!

As an update, I have been eating my way through the ridiculously thick pizza I made last night.

I will give that damn Mash from last week's London game one more go tomorrow morning and then it into the Composter with what remains.

The Brown Onion Gravy I will freeze for Christmas and then repurpose it somehow.

However, for tomorrow night's game, I have taken in all your awesome suggestions and will go to my local grocery tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM to see what is on sale and build a menu from there.

I do have a 16Q stock pot going all day with a huge Grouper head and some Halibut neck.  About 8+ lbs of it.  Made it Jamacian Style so I have that to work with tomorrow if I decide to make a Seafood Chowder.  I should strain it tonight however I am exhausted.

No sourcing armadillo eggs. I’m gonna smoke them in an old Weber kettle just like I did with cream cheese and stuffed sausage last night. Sometimes you just gotta do it yourself. 🤷‍♂️

It’s the go to for announcer’s. He was the sauce shut down corner according to the media.. before sauce. He also had a lot to say and that mattered until he started getting burned a bit. Matters more when Bills DL was so effective and they didn’t bring up Von and Poyer. But with some vulnerabilities in Phins D exposed it was easy and somewhat valid to bring up.

They mentioned Poyer being out at the beginning of the game. No need after that because Rapp and DH played great. Romo mentioned Von in the middle of the game with a “and this is without Miller” comment. Kind of lost in the shuffle with Romo’s adorations for Milano though. Props to them for pointing out how impactful Milano and Bernard are though.

Allen didn't get the injury benefit of the doubt when he had an injury to his throwing elbow, which is more significant than a calf injury.  Its not like Burrow can't walk or something out there.  Not saying legs are not important to a QB, saying Allens injury was more impactful than Burrows yet all the talk was Allen is regressing, not that the injury could be impacting him.

Difference is that Allen, Mahomes, Rodgers, and Herbert have the arm talent to sling it without using their lower body. UCL on guys who don’t have to use their lower body can be more impactful. Either way they have to change the kinematics of their throwing motion which leads to issues.

That said, JA17 should have gotten the benefit of the doubt, but certain folks in the media wanted to maintain predraft narratives for some reason. 🤷‍♂️

  14. Allen trusting the supporting cast. We notice the backs and Kincaid the most in the equation. However, the biggest change is Allen trusting the interior line. He didn’t in preseason or the Jets game even when they were holding up. Now that he’s trusting them he’s climbing the pocket and allowing Dawkins and Brown to run ends around the loop then escaping through the C and D gaps, pressing the LOS - forcing defensive players to commit - and throwing easy completions with space for YAC. Best example of this from the Fish game is the pass to Cook on the sideline, but it happened several other times as well.

If you go back and look at prime Rodgers and peak Mahomes it is similar. The best plays come when the tackles can ride DEs in a loop and the interior holds up so they can escape out of the C and D gaps. Go back and watch some Rodgers tape with Sitton and Lang at guard and you’ll see the same efficiency.

At least he didn't have -2 yards.

If that was intended as a Reggie Bush 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼. If it was a double entendre that also references a Barry Sanders playoff game…. I salute 🫡 you

Just building off of #1-I know we are all loving the more patient, take what they give you Josh, but that one pass to Cook was just an outstanding play. Josh extended that play, cook read it perfectly, and Josh dropped it into his lap so easily. When Josh takes what is given to him, it’s going to open up those spectacular, only Josh can make that type of plays

Even more amazing was that he could have thrown to Knox and got about the same amount of yardage.
