  1. Yeah as I think about it now it has been more sporadic. White, Edmunds, Rousseau, Knox and heck even Ford started right away. The plan was to sit Allen at first but thankfully Peterman took care of that. Oliver played in the rotation but did not start right away. Basham and Epenesa were brought along at the slowest pace.
  2. Interesting thought. To extrapolate further McD seems comfortable sitting guys for long stretches until they are ready to play. So it seems to fit your narrative that maybe they look for guys that have more upside that has not been fully seen yet. The counter to this thought would be Epenesa who looks like he peaked a long time ago.
  3. Cowherd was a radio guy here in Portland before he left for ESPN. Grew up near Seattle and was a Mariners fan. I think he has gotten worse with each career move. He was tolerable in the early days of ESPN, now he just likes to hear himself talk. He thinks he is smarter than his audience and fancies himself as a bit of an intellectual. Like others have said he is a jump on the bandwagon guy.
  4. Not sure I would consider college drop rate as a significant stat.... https://www.pff.com/news/draft-wr-prospect-zay-jones-may-have-the-best-hands-in-the-draft#:~:text=Jones recorded a drop rate, with at least 100 targets.
  5. Hope for Gilmore but expect Haden
  6. Extend Oliver and Knox. Both players continue to get better and if you believe in signing your own guys these two deserve it. Let Edmunds walk after this year. If he really steps it up a notch then tag him to make him prove it I'd be fine with reworking Poyer's deal this year by adding a year and making this year salary a signing bonus. I think he can still play at a high level for 2 more years. I would not commit to him beyond 2023 through. They can get younger and cheaper at safety in the future. Singletary is nothing special and I want no part of a RB on a second contract.
  7. Yes it is. You can spin it any way you want but Beane and just about every other teams drafts for need. White, Allen, Edmunds, Knox, Rousseau, Ford, Oliver and to some degree Bass and Moss were all need picks. In every case there was an open roster spot to fill for each of them. I think in the middle rounds you may have an argument. Davis, Singletary, and Brown were all solid picks that added depth but there was not an obvious need addressed.
  8. My disdain for Edmunds is well documented but I don't understand the enthusiasm for Jackson? What has he really done to warrant a positive or negative opinion of him. At best he is an unknown. He couldn't beat out Wallace. I dont recall any great plays after he went in for White but I don't recall thinking he was playing terribly either. If he was the fourth corner with White, a rookie first round pick, and Haden I'd be happy.
  9. No he isn't. He is the exact opposite of BPA.
  10. I believe he means losing in the playoffs because of Ferguson's ankle. That team was good enough to win the SB against a bad Eagles team.
  11. The list doesn't include the coach's family
  12. Big difference is Diggs was already under contract for several months years. Metcalf is not. I still agree with the Jets approach but it would have to be contingent o. Metcalf agreeing to an extension.
  13. I love Talbot's mock draft. Usually I advocate for trading down but Beane plugged so many holes,, there just is not enough roster space to fill. His mock adds an elite corner and bolsters both OT and OG. At the same time get a punter and jettisons the late round picks for picks next year. Love it! The only change I would make is Iwould draft MLB or Safety in the second round. As someone else pointed out, at least one if not two of the three - Edmunds, Poyer, and Hyde will be gone after this year. My preference would be draft MLB in the second round. Let Edmunds walk after this year. As for WR, they have enough on the roster now, but I would still make a run at Sanders for one more year.
  14. Only thing the Bills need is a coach that doesn't choke in the moment Well and a MLB that makes plays would be nice but for this year I just want McD to not choke. He was so much better last year right up until it really mattered
  15. Hope you are right. I try not to throw around the bust word too carefree. But Epenesa and Ford look terrible so far. Add Moss and you have some pretty big misses for Beane in the early rounds. I am surely in the minority but I think Ford with a new coach may have a chance to resurrecting his career. Its still more likely than not he is a training camp cut or trade for a low round pick. But he has shown enough in practice to start at RT and both guard spots. Maybe just maybe he can improve enough to at least be interior depth. As for trades, Hughes for what was given up has to be #1. In Bills history, Coussineau, Bennett and Diggs trades were franchise changing/defining deals as well.
  16. You mean talented ones? We have had enough of the Zimmers and H. Phillips. Talent wins championships and Gilmore if healthy is a top 10 CB in this league. All that said, I think I would take Joe Haden on a 1 year deal and a rookie #1 draft pick at CB as a better use of resources and long term cap management. If you are one of those posters that feel WR or RB is a bigger need in the early rounds (and there are good arguments to make for that strategy), then Gilmore on a 2 year deal makes more sense
  17. Hey. You are back. Hope you are ok
  18. He wasn’t overrated. He was underrated by this fan base. He may have wanted out but if he wants to come back it would be a quality signing
  19. No. Take BPA in one of three positions- CB, WR, and OT in the first three rounds, in no particular order
  20. Except Hughes is better than Basham, Lawson, and Epenesa still. He is still a quality player. I understand thus happens all the time and predicting when older veterans decline is as difficult as predicting which young players will improve However Epenesa looks like a complete bust and I would take Hughes back and cut Epenesa in a heart beat.
  21. Oh c'mon. You can't use that argument. Using your logic then taking a 6th round QB often yields multiple SB winners. There are so many things that need to happen to win a SB. Nobody would ever want their pick back if it yielded a ProBowl level player. Your argument would seem to suggest if they just choose a different position that they would be equally likely to be a ProBowl level player. The stats suggest otherwise.
  22. TO said he was un-retiring. Everything makes sense now.
  23. I didn't want Darnold. He never looked comfortable at USC when he was pressured. Rosen was my #2 after Allen.
  24. I'd be fine with an OT in round 1-3 and a C/G in round 5. Boettger was never good. He will probably miss the entire season anyways. Ford looks like a bust and at this point seems more likely to get cut than be a significant contributor. But I suspect they will give Ford all kinds of opportunities with a new OL coach to get better.
  25. Do you trust this coaching staff to play the best players? Took 10+ weeks and multiple injuries to get Bates in the lineup. Davis was getting minimal targets for much of the season. Moss and Singletary were getting equal reps. Gilliam is allowed to play. McKenzie disappeared for large stitches of the season. Basham is inactive most of the season while we watch Epenesa suck all year. Not saying I think Stevenson will break out this year. But I wouldn't dismiss the possibility.
