Do NOT trade up. Whoever we take, I can just about guarantee a guy will go later who will be just as good or better. Happens every draft.

THANK YOU.  I harp on this all the time around here.  It is straight up "WRONG" to trade up, unless you are going way up to get the franchise QB of your dreams...then I'd give up half the team to move up and get that guy...

I love how people post those "thumbs down" and what not under your post...as though they know better. LOL.

Have all the Bills fans already forgotten Sammy Watkins and the 2014 draft?

Gave up a LOT of assets to move up to 4, to take a bust of a WR who was much worse than what we could have gotten  further down, including some stiff named Beckham, Jr.

Aaron Donald was also available for us at our original spot of 9 before the move up!

LOL.  Obviously, the "scouting" process leaves quite a lot to be desired.

The fundamental flaw with moving "UP" is it assumes the guy you take at that higher spot is somehow a higher value player.

The rankings are absolute; most of them are WRONG.

So you are moving up on a guess as to who you think should being top value.

Much smarter to always TRADE DOWN and get more picks.

Those guys might be just as good or better anyway.

More kicks at the can is a superior strategy when you don't really have an ability to accurately grade talent.

It was always a strange mix of personalities. McDaniel wants to be friends with the players while Vic wants them to drop and give him 20. That was probably never going to work.

Fangio is the past; McDaniel, goofy as he is, is the future.

The Vic Freakin' Fangios of the league will all be gone in another 5 years.

  3. I 100% agre McDermott should be gone at the end of 2024 if we finish the season about the same, again.

Hell, I think he should have been gone a couple years ago!

Here's the thing: what does Pegula think?  That's all that's important.

Hell, Pegula may not even realize there's an issue going on with his coach.

Regarding the SBs, back then, the NFC was a notch up on the AFC.

They were like 2 different leagues, to an extent, and we were the cream of the AFC for a good few years.

The problem is we were straight not as good as the best teams from the NFC in the same period.

Washington KILLED US and were a much better team.

    Dallas, the same thing....twice.

The one exception was the 1990 season when I do believe we were the best football team in the league.

Should have beaten the Giants in XXV, on way or the other, but such is life as a Bills fan.

The vast majority of these guys weren't good QBs regardless of age or running frequency. Young is a HOF and the most obvious exception as you pointed out. Wilson may still rebound and I doubt his decline has anything to do with running. He was sacked relentlessly behind a bad Seahawks oline the last two years he was there. And I dont think he cares about football anymore.

Excluding Rodgers and Roethlisberger skews the data set. Both were mobile guys that moved around a lot in the early part of their careers.

Totally agree with you; the entire analysis is foolish and filled with error.

I love the pool of players examined, as though they all have "running QB" tattooed on their forehead.

Who says who is a running QB?  What is a running QB?

I would define this list as "mediocre QBs who were good enough to last in the league a long time."

For that reason alone, I wouldn't apply anything you draw from it to Josh Allen.

IDK he's done well for himself.  He married Stiffler's mom for money and was last seen vacationing in Sicily at the White Lotus.  Can't see him moving to Buffalo to work for assistants pay for a lame duck regime.

    uncle-rico-is-greg-from-the-white-lotus-

He also plotted to have said wife killed, and that didn't go well.

He may be spending a long time in jail once the law catches up to him.

PS: loved the hotel manager; sexy as hell.

If someone is going to pay that much who are we to question it. Let the man get paid

$16 million a year, compared to player salaries, is TREMENDOUS value for money.

Harbaugh is a great coach and his impact on the win total is greater than any player on the team other than QB.

What is insane is the money players who are not elite QBs make....they just don't impact the bottom line enough.

Elite QBs should earn about 90% of the cap!  Rest of roster should get the scraps remaining.

Why? Is there something wrong with our quarterback that needs tough love? I thought he played pretty damn well after he got out from under whatever Dorsey was coaching him to do.

Maybe you don't watch all the games; he's quite inconsistent and hasn't broken several really bad habits despite being around a while.

He doesn't need a friend as his coach; he needs someone who will improve his game.

You'll recall the Bills aren't playing on Sunday...there's room for improvement everywhere.

I need a new saw so I'm getting a Dewalt 10 inch miter saw.

I'm building a play ramp for my dogs and my Skil saw isn't doing the job.  It's a cheaper one and I don't have a steady enough hand to cut it straight...I need better equipment.

If you’re looking at a 10 inch mitre saw, consider a 12 inch.  Sooner or later you’ll be thankful for the bigger blade.

Bigger costs more, but 10" is too damned small to be of much use.

I'd go even bigger than 12 if you can afford it.

Havent heard of this before, but this sounds a lot like some mental health issues rearing their head. More so than drugs or anything else even.

    How old is he?

Weird that he told you to "look it up" because when I google it, all that comes up are articles connecting it to "Persecutory delusion" and mental health issues.

    The guy needs help.

This is my guess as well, though I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV.

  10. This is a shame.  Olsen is really good, and actually up on the sport of football in 2024.

I have NO idea why the network would pursue Brady so hard.

First off, he has an annoying voice that is difficult to listen to.

Secondly, he does not have a friendly, easy to like personality.

I see him as totally wrong for the job.  I wonder why he even wants to do it.

He has enough money and who would want to do all that traveling, only to be sitting in a football stadium?

I'd be hanging out on my yacht in the Monaco harbor, with 4 or 5 beach bunnies sunning themselves on the upper deck.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Could Josh go down as the best playoff QB to never win a Superbowl? Who is his competition? Marino and Rivers come to mind.

Usually if you are a great QB then you win a Superbowl. Usually if you are a great QB on a team with a top defense you are guaranteed to win the Superbowl. Bills are really working hard to go against the grain on this one.

Yes, he very well might.  Without a coaching change and new regime that knows how to harness Josh's powers, Josh will never win a SB.  Hell, we have trouble appearing in a championship game, let alone winning it, let alone winning a SB.

That's a lot of elite coaching and game planning needed to do that stuff against the best in the league.

I knew our defense in the playoffs was bad, but I didn't realize it was at this level of bad.

These are our DVOA rankings since 2020, which are all above average with 2021 and 2022 being elite.

    2020: 11th

    2021: 2nd

    2022: 1st

    2023: 12th

This is EPA allowed in our playoff losses along with the EPA each of these teams posted in other playoff games that same year.  I included how that EPA ranked on the season for that team.

Kansas City 2023: vs Buffalo, 11.85 EPA 5th best on the season

Other playoff games that year: Miami EPA 9.58, 7th best

Bengals 2022: vs Buffalo, 22.03 EPA, 3rd best on the season

Other Playoff games that year: KC 4.06 EPA 10th best, Ravens .7 EPA 16th best

Kansas City 2021: vs Buffalo, 32.62 EPA, 3rd best on the season

Other playoff games that year: Steelers 16.09 EPA, 9th best, Bengals 11.28 EPA 12th best

Kansas City 2020: Vs Buffalo, 30.34 1st best on the season

Other playoff games that year: Browns 19.09 EPA 9th best, Tampa Bay: -7.90 EPA 19th best

For context, Kansas City has not had an EPA in the 20's in a playoff game one time since 2020 but they have had 2 games vs us in the 30's.  The Bengals have not had a offensive EPA over 10 in any playoff game in the Burrow era but they had one in the 20's against us. It's not just that we underperform, it's that we allow historically excellent performances from these teams with a defense that rates either above average or far above average in the regular season.

Gee, it almost sounds like in playoffs games, with it all on the line against the best teams and best coaches, McDermott gets out-coached in-game every time!

Watch!  We will beat up on Carolina next year in week FOUR and the Kool-Aid Crowd will declare McDermott an outstanding coach and tell us how lucky we are to have him.

It ain't about pounding bad teams in Week 4 folks!

It's about what you can do against KC, Cincinnati, or Baltimore in January.

It's almost like we are hitting an invisible ceiling of McDermott's coaching competence.

    Hmmm.

    🤔
