     Beck -

Its all just noise.  We go looking for news, but there is no news.  Then we stuck on somethung that was written to catch our eye.  Sometimes its more or less correct, sometimes it isn't, but it's all just noise.

Yesterday the Boston Globe said the Bills werent active in free agency because the Pegulas are unhappy with the results they're getting and tightened the purse strings.  Huh?

Unless it is written by the usual people who follow the Bills, it is just noise.

The reality is that on most days, there is not a damned thing worth talking about with the Bills that you don't already know, especially in the off-season.

The internet and a 24 hour news cycle has created the mess we have now.

How to deal with it?  Switch it off and switch out.

    It's not hard.

  2. Giving up that much for an elite draft prospect is insane IMO.  You must don't know how any of those guys will play out as pros.

If you are going to give up a TON, do what we did when he got DIGGS.....get a guy who has proven exactly who he is at the NFL level but demands a high price.

I.E., find a way to get AIYUK, not a draftee.

That would be my preference if we are giving up the house.

There is no doubt, Beane is not done at WR.  He hasn't even started.

In all the wailing and gnashing of teeth this off-season, the reality is we really have just two “needs” right now:  WR and S.  And even safety is questionable given Edward’s coming on board.

I tend to believe Beane when he talks.  And he said the roster now is not what it will be in September.  He also said the team needs to get more explosive.  So I look for either a big move up to get one of the top 3 WRs, or a smaller move up in around 1 to get a kid that can take the roof off with speed.  Then maybe a S, maybe a quick edge guy.  Maybe a big RB late.  But whomever will be a guy with however Beane wants to define explosive.

There's not a chance in hell that we are done at the WR position.

    We're just getting started.

So did anyone see the start of last night's Rangers-Devils game. They dropped the puck, and a 5 on 5 fight broke out.

I've seen more hitting when I take my kids to the petting zoo...

But this was still great to see.  Nice to see this sort of thing--sort of--isn't totally gone from the game.

Rangers/Devils rivalry is one of the best left in hockey.

Nowadays these young kids are all multi- millionaires and would rather chit chat about investment advice before games.  In the old days they hated each other and there was a natural animosity among teams.

    God I miss those days.

    1) In due course, pot will be legal everywhere in America, as it should be, though backward states like Texas may be the last to adapt.

    2) If we are going to start caring about pot and enforcing anti-pot policies among ALL NFL PLAYERS, there will not be anyone left to play football.

Abandoning an accident scene with injured people who were receiving medical care is a serious offense.

The pot thing is not worth discussing.

    Edmunds

Just curious why he is so highly regarded when these issues have come to roost fully

He has been FAR from perfect but he's also gotten a lot right.

I would keep Beane moving forward if he wanted to stay when McD gets fired.

Mind you - I am not saying we will or should be SB favorites, or even considered a top 3-4 contender.

But losing Diggs changes very little, imo.  A lot will depend on who we get in the 1st round this year, and if they can adjust quickly to the pro's.

Diggs did nothing for us in the past 2 playoff losses, and his production was way down the entire 2nd half of last season (when we made our run).

Just responding to thoughts in the Diggs thread that his trade clearly means a year off, and a rebuild.  To me, it means a trade up for a better receiver, and we'll still be contending.  I don't see this as some sort of window-closer.

The Sabres can still get in the playoffs THIS YEAR TOO!

Dude, it got bad between Steph and the Bills!

I have been pointing out for a while around here that Diggs doesn't want to be in Buffalo.

Nothing significant really from Beane, but I do think he has a plan and is going to replace stef in a big way. Should be an interesting couple of months.

It's probably more likely to involve moving way up to draft a DT.

Good riddance.  Diva who thought he was better than everyone else.

You sound like the sort of Sabres fan who actually thought trading Eichel and Reinhart was a good idea, or that they were somehow part of any problem with the team.

A pox on your family for a thousand generations!

  10. I just noticed that the Leafs game tonight is not on TV...it's one of those ESPN+ only streaming things, which are starting to really piss me off.  The Leafs games in Buffalo are, by far, the highlight of the Sabres season and to make those pay to watch really pisses me off.

Here's another reason to hate Pegula.

Don't worry, I'll be watching online for free, but that approach is not the best.

I'm just gonna keep posting this anytime someone brings up that game....

Several factors contributed to the loss

    1) 13 seconds

    2) they had all three time outs left

    3) they had Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill

    4) some Bills players and coaches were already celebrating on the sidelines like the game was over

    5) they only needed a FG to tie and go to OT.

Ah, the rationalization power of a Bills fan knows no bounds.

It's a product of over a half century of failure.

    1) A colossal failure on the part of the Coaches.

    2) See #1

In other franchises, McDermott doesn't survive the 13 seconds.

Here, he's apparently hired for life.

Buffalo Bills fans are sometimes like little children. They want what they want when they want it and don't care why it didn't happen. Get a grip as 30 other teams wish that they were as good as the Buffalo Bills these last five years. Particularly, Miami, the NY Jets, and the NE Patriots.

You're right!  Bills fans are impatient children!  We have only waited 54 years since the merger for a single championship, without getting one.

Do these people not know it takes TIME to succeed in sports?

Look at the Red Sox!  And the Cubs!
