Back to hearing how Lamar has no weapons..

Real talk, Miami should be really good this year.

    Miami gets it!

Love their approach.  If we could just swap coaching staffs, we'd be a much more serious contender than we are.

They want BIG and Athletic.  Speed is good, don't get me wrong, but they are seeming to push for big, physical WR's and that is what Joe Brady had his year as OC with HIS offense down at LSU.  No more getting bullied at the LOS, and hopefully a lot more contested balls.  It also brings a greater Catch radius for Allen to hit on when his passes are slightly off.

Look I get it, Fans want splash they want exciting and we tried that with smaller, faster WR's and it didn't work.  I am excited to see this new approach to be honest, and if we get the running game going, then we are going to see somewhat less exciting 8, 10,12+ play drives that eat the clock and keep guys like Mahomes and Kelce on the bench and hopefully lead to more TD's.

There is no substitute for speed.

Elite speed adds a dimension to any offense that is difficult to stop, and catapults the offense to a higher level than one without it.

I wish we were building a more fully developed offense.

But we are run by defense-first guys, and we pay the price for that all the time.

When Beane said the team is "in transition" what does that look like for you in 2024-2025.

For me, it means four (4 things).

    1. Bills will be 10-7 and get a Wildcard

    2. Bills will offload Miller and Knox and will have more cap space heading into 25-26 season

    3. Bills will focus on finding a new punter and kicker.  A #1 DE and #1 WR will be key components to move forward with their 1st and two 2nds.

    4. All eyes will be on OC Brady to see if he can have both a solid passing and running game that is consistent and not too predictable.

The fact that they moved on from Diggs THIS YEAR and not next year tells me they decided to right the salary cap situation all in 1 season.  Take the hit once and be ready to go forward with a Josh Allen led version 2.0 team next year.

So I don't expect much to happen this year, as apparently the organization doesn't either.

The problem with that is when we fail to achieve anything yet again, Beane and McDimwit can sell it as "part of the plan".

If McD is NEVER going to get on the hot seat and get shipped out of here, forget about having a winning program in place during the useful portion of Allen's career.

A real shame and waste of a historic opportunity.

  4. I wouldn't offload Josh to suit our stupid game plan, I would modify the game plan to suit Josh.

It is VERY fair to criticize this organization for having made it this far into the off-season, without have a replacement for Diggs.

I honestly do not think they intend to replace him...THIS YEAR.

OR, they incorrectly think they have his replacement already on staff.

The fact that this has transpired in a historically WR laden draft makes it worse.

We emerge from a draft like THIS with 1 guy?  And he is very much a controversial guy at that.

If we end next year about the same as normal, McD and Beane should be for sure on the hot seat, and maybe both fired....

I've said this for like 3 years now....the day will come when McD is FIRED for failure to get it done.  It's basically just a question of how much of Josh's career you want to piss away first.

I've said it before, I don't trust the Bills wide receiver scouting and this looks like a questionable pick to me. Obviously the 40 time is pretty scary, but I also don't see this "play speed" that everyone is claiming he has. He looked great in the gauntlet drill at the combine but I don't see that on the field. I also wanted Worthy because his tape looks so much better than Coleman, hope I'm wrong. I am keeping my expectations very low with this guy.

Also, it's going to suck when McConkey crushes it this year with Herbert, he'll get a ton of targets in that offence.

Clearly you are not alone!  Just listen to me or other fans, listen to NFL scouts and GMs, many of whom had this guy dismissed as sort of a "broken" prospect.  Then others saw the magic deep inside him and think they can get it out of him.

Obviously the Bills were in that latter group, wanting to take a chance on him but believing in his size and hands (I would guess...that seems to be his 2 big strengths).

I think it's more than fair to label him "boom or bust" as of right now.

No one will know anything about this guy until we watch him play for a year, and even then, he still might excel beyond that.

I thought 3.49 was the over/under on how many plates he got at the Golden Corral.

I have mentioned this here before, but back during the SB years, my sister worked as a waitress at a restaurant in Amherst, where many of the Bills would eat at.  She served House Ballard and other big guys who would sit with him several times; the House would find what he wanted on the menu and then order the entree x 2, for himself of course.   For real!

I'm surprised it was only 2.  I'm sure he could put down 3!

  6. This guy seems to be a huge "boom or bust" sort of prospect.

Everyone sees huge talent in him, but many seem to think it will never show itself on an NFL field and passed him by.

Obviously, the Bills were willing to gamble, like they did with Josh, based on the presence of raw talent.

I would LOVE for this kid to emerge as a bonafide superstar, starting THIS YEAR.

Play him McDimwit!  Give him snaps and give him balls to catch!

Let this kid take the NFL by storm...if he can!

Allen has been on record and even piecing together his off seasons. He takes 1-2 months off completely. No working out. Goes plays golf. Travels w his lady friend

he says he doesn’t participate in draft process, no interviews, no game tape

he said he watches the YouTube highlight vids.

I DO not want in anyway Allen to make picks directly. I think this is all funny interview filler.

Don't worry, Josh Allen had as much to do with this pick as I did.

  8. His name is Nigerian; means "not afraid of war" which is appropriate for an NFL player.

Not sure which of the 525 spoken languages in Nigeria it comes from, though.

Most people speak English; obviously not that.

    Might be Yoruboid or Bantu.

That is EXACTLY how I responded and I'll never regret it.

At THAT TIME, Josh was a wild one in a million project type guy and I definitely did NOT want him....or Lamar Jackson, out of ALL the big name QB draftees that year!

We hit on a lottery ticket with Josh so all is well that ends well.  Doesn't make the pick better AT THE TIME however.

  10. He started every game for Georgia Bulldogs the last 3 years; in the last 2 years he did not give up a single sack; did not even give up a QB hit last year...all against big time SEC competition.

ESPN and a few others had him on their 1st team All American list last year.

    Seems like a potential stud.

  11. Wonder what they are gonna do with all that 5th round trash they have.  Hard to find anything close to a difference maker at that spot in the draft.  Pile them ALL up and trade for a player.
