  1. He should have been put on the practice squad. Guys like him are supposed to be put on the practice squad for a year or two while helping the team prepare for different types of quarterbacks each week. Year 3 is when he should have been brought up to be Allen's backup. By year 2 your franchise QB should be starting all your games.
  2. Well this is much better said and is probably more accurate than my post. All 3 most likely had to do with the piling on by the media. I was just shocked how many times Peterman was used by media people when talking about Kaepernick collusion. It is there over and over and over by way too many people to not have been coordinated by someone.
  3. When you are trailing by 3 touchdowns so often, you throw deep.
  4. No it isn't. Lots of players have been terrible. Even the Pegulas daugther said enough with the piling on Peterman on her twitter account today. I though Tyrod did not get a fair shot and I think Peterman did not get a fair shot. I think the Bills have real issues that had more to do with receivers than quarterbacks. The switch to a faster receiver group this weekend proved that.
  5. I suspect there were some people involved in the Kaepernick collusion case that were pushing this Peterman mocking and hatred. It was quite sad, but useful for them. It makes no sense of NBC sports to be running pieces like this. Amazing the NFL allowed them to run such garbage. https://www.nbcsports.com/video/bills-sticking-nathan-peterman-only-helps-colin-kaepernicks-case
  6. Barkley starting does plenty. It lets you know if you need to lock him up with a deal or let him go at the end of the year.
  7. When Peterman replaced Taylor and threw 5 interceptions it was immediately turned into a race issue, and that was not Petermans fault. Writers all over American decided to make a 5th round quarterback the face of white privilege. He replaced a black quarterback. Then he had a job and Kaepernick didn't. Even EJ Manuel piled on. This is very unfair to Peterman who was just trying to make a living. Everyone knows race is behind the mocking of him but but won't say it. There are tons of articles just like this one illustrating what I am talking about. Fifth round draft picks don't get this much publicity. They just don't. Unless someone has an agenda. Race had nothing to do with it. A rookie coach making a terrible decision after a bunch of terrible losses was behind the move. https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/bills-quarterback-dilemma-clear-black-white-article-1.3645016 I am not saying Peterman is an NFL quarterback, but he does deserve a better shot. And for all the people out there that say he is the worst quarterback ever. Here is a stat for you. Alex Smith in his first 5 starts in the NFL threw 10 interceptions and no touchdowns. Worse than Peterman. People love to leave Alex Smith out of the conversation because it does not fit their narrative. This year he signed a 4 year 96 million dollar contract. Players can improve. If the Raiders or somebody else sign Peterman to their practice squad don't be surprised if he does what many former Bills did. Turn into an solid NFL player.
  8. Yes, the Bills are 3-7 because of Nathan Peterman. He is the one responsible for our offense scoring a total of 11 points against the Colts, Patriots, and Packers. He must have been holding the clipboard wrong. ?
  9. Absolutely. Jon Gruden is the guy who inspired McDermott. If you didn't read the 2017 USA Today article here it is. https://billswire.usatoday.com/2017/01/25/jon-gruden-inspired-bills-hc-sean-mcdermotts-quick-rise-through-nfl-ranks/
  10. Statistically he wasn't, but Peterman was probably more talented than Jeff Tuel. Peterman's lack of talent though combined with his incredible bad luck (3 starts against top 5 defenses) make it a close call.
  11. While Peterman was not good, quite a few of those interceptions were not his fault. Why the Bills stick with these bad receivers who cant catch and have no ability to get separation is beyond me.
  12. People read what Gruden said about him and just believed it, and I am guessing McDermott bought into the Gruden nonsense. McDermott then ruined any chance the kid had by basically trying to show everyone he was right about him and started him against the Ravens. Anyone could see Peterman lacked arm strength and was at best a backup QB. If you draft a rookie and you only have a 2nd year 5th rounder as an alternative going into the season you really are just not thinking through important decisions. And now they continue to make poor decisions by keeping two veteran quarterbacks on the roster. You need a rookie and a veteran and maybe a project on the practice squad. That is it.
  13. I think the point was he is not a starting quarterback but if the Bills had been patient with him and treated him like the 5th rounder he was, he likely would have done better. Fifth round quarterbacks don't start NFL games as rookies. Even Tom Brady only threw 1 pass his entire rookie year. The thought a team would start a 5th round rookie is not even considered by most coaches. You can say he would have failed eventually because he is not good, but he should never have been put in situations where his confidence could be ruined. Any evaluator of talent can see he is not some great quarterback who could win NFL games as a starter in his rookie year. The amount of abuse he takes nationally is not his fault. It is the coaches fault for not being able to see he did not belong on the field. He should have been a practice squad project or he should have been cut.
  14. I want a quarterbacks coach to mentor him and I want a veteran to show him the basics. I don't need him learning from two different quarterbacks that probably have completely different ways of doing things. Does it make sense for him to learn from some guy who is going to be gone in 6 weeks or a guy who could very well be his backup for years?
  15. The Bills need to move on from Benjamin now. They are not resigning him at the end of the year. Just cut him or bench him and let the players that want a shot play. Thompson, Jones, Foster, and McKenzie are all much more reliable and bigger threats than Benjamin.
  16. Peterman and Anderson both filled a purpose. Peterman was here until a quarterback could get healthy. They now have healthy quarterbacks and he is rightfully gone. Anderson served a purpose of being an experienced backup for Allen to learn from. We now have Matt Barkley and it is time for Anderson to be gone. We don't need an offensive coordinator, a quarterbacks coach, an experienced quarterback, and another experienced quarterback all teaching a rookie. Too many people telling him what to do is the last thing he needs. This is not the same pro game that Cam developed in. The league is much different now. The coaches who are now finally figuring that out need to realize we don't need a dinosaur teaching a rookie.
  17. Your reasoning is just like the reasoning of all the people that said Zay Jones was a bust. Learning how to quarterback in the NFL or play receiver in the NFL is not easy and it is especially not easy with two different offensive coordinators. Nobody is saying Peterman is an NFL quarterback but what people are saying is he was set up for failure from the beginning. People forget Alex Smith started his career out with similar stats to Nathan Peterman. I don't think Peterman is a starting NFL quarterback, but like Dibiase I think people should not be rushed along and set up for failure.
  18. What knowledge? How to be a bad quarterback? Our quarterbacks coach should be coaching Allen and he should be learning from a guy like Barkley on basics like game preparation. We don't want a rookie quarterback learning from two veterans who may have two totally different ways of doing things. There are too many cooks in the kitchen. Allen doesn't need a quarterbacks coach and 2 veterans telling him how to play quarterback in the NFL.
  19. Totally agree. Let's play the guy who gives us the best chance to win. Barkley is that guy. People forget we have other players like young receivers who need to develop too. Give them a quarterback that can read defenses and gets the ball out.
  20. Anderson is not going to be the backup for Allen next year. Barkley probably will be or should be. The Bills goal should be to have Allen and Barkley for years as the starter and backup. If Allen does not develop then Barkley is more than adequate as a starter. Anderson has already proven he is not.
  21. Dibiase isn't making excuses for Peterman. He is stating Peterman never should have been put in the spots he was put in. How can you expect a rookie to play well in an offense that an experienced veteran like Tyrod Taylor could not even play well in? A smart coach never pulls Tyrod and gives a start to Peterman.
  22. I understand why they brought Anderson to Buffalo to help with Josh Allen, but with Matt Barkely here shouldn't Allen be learning from Barkley now? In Derek Anderson's last 3 years in the NFL he has been absolutely terrible. He has throw 2 touchdowns and 6 interceptions and has never looked good. He is not a good quarterback and you have to wonder why you would want a bad quarterback teaching your future franchise quarterback how to play. The NFL Anderson grew up in is nothing like the NFL of today. Isn't this like asking a bad student to tutor your child?
  23. The Bills seem intent on rushing quarterbacks along. Allen has raw talent but it needs to develop. Barkley should play and Allen should observe. Barkley is the first real quarterback that Allen can learn from. Anderson does not really serve a purpose on this team any longer. Why do they want Allen to learn from a guy who never really could play quarterback effectively in the league?
  24. The way I see it he went from an A+ quarterback to an A- quarterback. Still can get it done in big spots. He threw for combined 795 yards and 5 Touchdowns with no Interceptions in the AFC Championship Game and Superbowl just a few months ago.
  25. Her points are not valid. Where do you think the money to fix subways and invest money in the community comes from? Does the money grow on trees? No, businesses move in and they hire people and those people pay taxes and they buy homes and they buy goods, etc. Amazon's with tax breaks is much better than no Amazon at all. The problem is childish people like Socialist Ocasio-Cortez thinks money grows on trees. You know the problem with socialism, you eventually run out of other peoples money.
