If I'm not mistaken, Diggs actually said in his presser yesterday that their relationship is less personal now.

interesting he would actually say it, but my guess is that they probably just don't have as much in common with each other as they do with some of the other guys on the team.

I fully agree with this.  The closest comparisons to Josh are Elway and Favre, especially Favre. A WCO and a STRONG O coach was the key to harnessing their incredible gifts and making them champions.  I would love to see them bring in someone experienced, strong and some sort of WCO system for him.

At this point, it's the only reason I would like to see McDermott leave. Though flawed, I think he's a good coach.I think he's shown some growth. I just don't think he's the guy to bring our unicorn to his full potential.

Im also not sure if there is a slam dunk candidate who can do that.

Yup, it’s as if it never happened, it is troubling that Joshes best performances as a QB have been when he plays that way, and he doesn’t seem to acknowledge it, and its like no-one points this out to him…, oh well.

    GO BILLS!!!

If this is really the case, then it's on the coaching. Maybe they've tried to do it for 15-25 minutes in some games, and had to abandon because it went horribly.

McDermott has been a superb DC this year. So much so, he should definitely be getting HC interest....wait 🤔

Anyone clamoring for all the head coaches out there calling plays for the offense to get OCs? No. Can do both quite well

There are several heads who call defense as well. Around half or a little more of the teams in the NFL have a head coach who either calls the offense or the defense.

Shakir has been working with Eric Moulds during offseason and occasionally during season.   Talked to Eric Moulds and he is very proud of his student.

Shakir was basically an unknown for most of his career and game plans will now factor him in coverage schemes.

Love Eric Moulds. Best receiver we've had since I've known what I was watching, imo. More dynamic than Diggs.  Im a bit too young to compare him with Reed.

  6. I'm sure mcdermott absolutely loves calling the plays. i don't know how many head coaches call defense, but it seems at least a third call offensive plays, so I don't have an issue with it. Hopefully he is getting all the help he feels he needs, in whichever areas it's needed. If he already has a guy or two around who  understand how he thinks and what he's looking for, maybe they are good and don't need any of these guys.

  7. The bills don't need a d coordinator per se, but they could do with the NE model. Im sure BB has always been the de-facto coordinator, but it's nice to have somebody there to help with the dirty work.

It's still wild people are still arguing Allen was legitimately close here. He wasn't in the conversation by a mile and won't finish top 3 in voting. He may not even be top 4. I'd absolutely put Stroud over him.

Allen played 1 phenomenal quarter of football out of the last 12 and was largely awful for the rest of it. As far as high-end complete games, he had 4 maybe 5 and several of those were against weak teams. That's not MVP caliber.

All we needed from him yesterday was to not put us in a massive hole, which he did. Then we needed him to be superman to pull us out of it - which he did. How many accolades should a guy get who repeatedly does that when a pedestrian game management QB would have been good enough to completely roll the opponent?

Our defense holds the highest scoring and top yardage team in the league to 14 points - including none int he 2nd half and somehow we call Allen the hero.

Maybe you didn't notice that even with all the turnovers, allen was marching up and down the field. it's not like the defense spent the entire game out there. A pedestrian game management qb very well might have had several 3 and outs, making our defense put in 2x the work. How does that work out? Maybe you didn't notice that even in our awful first half, we still had longer time of possession. in the second half we destroyed the in this area. 23 minutes!  A pedestrian game manager might have put 10 on the board. our defense might have been warn down. and the dolphins might have scored 30.

Rivera may get hired elsewhere.  If I'm him I wouldn't want to work under someone at a job in the same position as someone who used to work under me.  I think McDermott promotes from within if he gives up the d-coordinator duties.

im not sure this is true. i think people can to a point in life where they're content with what they've achieved on their own, and they just want to work with people who they like, respect, and enjoy working with.

  10. McDermott has coached well the last few weeks. Very little to criticize in the way of timeout calls, challenges, etc. I think he probably did a little bit of self reflecting after that hit piece came out, whether it was a fair article or not. That's what successful people do.

My only misgiving with him at this point is I still don't think he is the right guy for Allen. I really think josh is gonna have his best success with an offensive guru with a firm hand. but what are the odds of him finding that right guy? Unless you have somebody perfect in mind, can't make a switch.

Of course if we somehow manage to get whipped by the Steelers, this is all out the window and we'll all be calling for his head before the third qtr is over.

  11. love big game gabe, but only see him 2x per year. i don't know if the miscommunications between him and josh are one, the other, or both; but they don't seem to happen with the other receivers.

The PI no calls looked to me like, the refs are already in playoff mode.  Where they let them play!

but you can't no call that play on knox, but then call the defensive holding on the hill play where his momentum wasn't even disrupted.

There was no reason for him to be playing hero ball though.

    It's  his DNA

Collinsworth was at his best when Tirico asked what do you say to Josh Allen right now. Collinsworth said BE YOU. I hope he makes better situations as his career moves along. but ill take this version gladly if that never happens.

  15. I think it's okay to be critical and say when he's done something dumb. there are people who put the blame on somebody else every time. At the same time, there are people here who will say he sucks and he is the bills problem. people who actually want him gone. just unintelligent. you have to take the bad with the absolutely otherworldly amazing. Josh is the best thing to happen to the bills in 30 years. arguably forever.
