It's going to be really interesting to me how this plays out in Houston this year.  With Diggs in a prove it year, he's going to want to be the guy and really drive up his value.  Houston has a lot of options on that offense and Diggs may not get what he wants.  However, Diggs also can't go full Diva if he doesn't get the production he wants, as that could also scare off other teams.

Either way, I think he will end up in Dallas.  For how much and how long....who knows?

He is pretty good at not going FULL DIVA but still being a huge PIA. he is very passive aggressive.

If the second half of the 2023 season had matched Diggs's first half, my guess is the handwringing taking place in the cryptic tweets thread would be confined to the "usual suspects." It's the nose dive in production coupled with the "distraction" that has more people up in arms.

that 2nd half of the 23 season is irrelevant if he catches one ball in the game that matters.

  3. running the ball, he's a JAG. 100%. but I always had a good feeling when they threw the ball his way. Safe, dependable, runs hard, etc. If you could combine his intangibles with Cook's talent, we'd have a perfect back.

and i don't dislike cook. but he's impossible to trust.

edit: just looked at his numbers, and maybe im remembering stuff that's not real. 7 catches in the regular season. 1 post season. 1 fumble.

I can easily think back to all of the great safeties of the past 20 years. John Lynch, Rodney Harrison, Bob Sanders, Brian Dawkins, Darren Sharper, Rod Woodson, Ed Reed, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, Troy Polamalu

There has been a severe drop off in elite safety play the last 5-10 years

I probably watched Bob Sanders more than the others, so I am biased. When that guy was on, he was as big of a difference maker as any defensive player I have ever watched. He was probably only ON like that for a grand total of around 20 games. Won them a super bowl though.

Watching Allen play QB makes it hard to watch other QBs play QB... everyone else looks like Nate Peterman trying to throw an out to the far sideline now.

if we go back to those days when allen is gone, i will probably start watching a team that is something like Joe Burrow's bengals.

Like how I followed 10 years of Peyton Manning during our drought. And I'll be honest, that brought me a lot of heartache as well. No matter how good it is, you always want it to be better. The only thing that feels good enough is if you're guy is the best of his era.

I so badly wanted manning to pass brady, and now it's wanting allen to pass mahomes. Getting just one won't be good enough for us. We will be right back to miserable when they get bounced in rd. 2 the next year.

  7. Probably trying to get away with paying him nothing. He probably wants wants a Daniel Jones contract. And why wouldn't we? he is definitely the better player. but not every franchise is gonna be a sucker like the giants.

Somebody like baker worth 30 million imo. Daniel Jones 20-25.

  8. Brees was still really good at 40, and pretty effective his last year at 41, despite not having any arm strength left. Rivers was still good at 39. he left to spend time with his family and because he really really wanted to be a high school football coach for some reason.

40 seems almost a normal end now, with quality seasons until almost the very end. with improving medicine, stem cells, less invasive surgeries, peptides, hgh, etc., it's easy to see mid 40s becoming more regular. I think more than anything it will be the desire rather than the ability that flames out prior to that. It is difficult to imagine that being the case, but im 42 now, and every year it shocks me how much i lose interest in something that brought me 30+ years of joy before. there just comes a time that the juice isn't worth the squeeze anymore.
