If it wasn’t clear before it should be absolutely clear now that Mahomes and KC is different in the playoffs when it’s win or go home. He and KC have a survival gear that’s not present with the Bills. Also their offense was moving the ball at will throughout the game so to think they wouldn’t be able to at the end is kinda wishful. Look how easily they picked up that 1st to close out after the missed fg.

So yeah let’s just disregard all those regular season games against KC because they mean squat when it comes down to crunch time. We keep touting those regular season wins against them and some fans were overly confident before this last game. Hopefully this latest lesson reminder will stick going forward.

Well, you gotta start somewhere. Seeding is crucial so those regular season games were still high stakes.

How many times did Vinatieri bailed out Brady? That’s not the point as Brady is considered the goat.

Let’s say Bass made that kick. So now Mahomes has 1:45 roughly to take his team down for a winning fg. You’re confident that Bills would be able to stop him?

Whenever this topic gets discussed it’s always all the other part of the team that needs improving except the main part. Allen is a top 3 qb in the league but he does have room for improvement. Just like all other QBs, including the best guy in Mahomes.

    Edit:

Regarding your op I haven’t seen the national media crapping on Allen. I watch alot of national sports shows. The narrative of Allen is not being able to get past Mahomes in the playoffs. Even though Allen lost to Burrow that’s not really discussed at all. If you’re reading comments on Twitter and YouTube etc then it’s a different story and one that should be ignored.

The Bills stopped Mahomes in the regular season on his last drive. It’s certainly possible. Confident? Not really, but would’ve loved to have the opportunity instead of a gut-wrenching missed FG that brought up bad memories.

Yes he did…in a game that was 2 years ago. It can’t be just 1 time. We’re talking about playoffs here. Where the cream rises to the top. It has to be consistent.

All was on a platter for him this past playoffs game against KC, at home no less. Had the ball with a chance to eliminate Mahomes and KC. Home crowd cheering on. It would’ve changed his whole narrative this offseason. So how did he answered that opportunity? By  being impatient at the worst possible moment and ultimately didn’t even advance the team to the red zone. Giving his struggling kicker a tough kick in that condition. So the narrative will continue. He has to improve his mental game to take it to level where Mahomes is operating. Until he does Bills will be going home early in the playoffs as always.

How many times did Harrison Butker bail out Mahomes and the Chiefs w/ insanely clutch 50+ yarders ? Or tons of other kickers have done against Buffalo in big games ? That kick was on Bass and it is not Allen’s fault that he missed an easy FG w/ 83% probability rate. He got paid top kicker money so he should routinely make those. It’s not the Scott Norwood days where a 40 yarder is a hit or miss. If Bass was so shaky then they should’ve went for it on 4th down.

Where is all this negative talk about Josh?   I haven't heard it, but I don't watch or listen to many of the sports shows.

I've said over and over here that Josh needs to get better.  For all his extraordinary talents, what wins in the NFL is consistent execution of the play that is called, with the right choices and with accurate throws.   Mahomes and Burrows both are better than Josh in that category.  Where Josh excels is on the six to ten plays where things break down and you need someone to make a play.  Josh is outstanding then.  It's the other plays where he needs to be better.

All over social media. Reddit, FB, Twitter or whatever the F it’s called these days, it’s literally allover every comment section that has anything to do with Josh Allen or the Bills. Way more hate since the playoff loss. Allen kind of went from a hero to hated pretty fast.

Allen will go down as a great QB and HOFer if he stays healthy. It’s a shame that Allen plays in the same era as Mahommes, who will always overshadow him, mostly because his coach and teammates are superior to Allen’s.

They’re both early in their primes. Things can turn around if McD can pull his head out of his *** and build a playoff caliber defense.

  5. by the media and non-Bills fans seems to be the trend this offseason. He’s getting the label of a guy that can’t and never will get it done. A “poor man’s Roethlisberger” or Phillip Rivers (who I think he’s already surpassed in 6 years.) Guys like Lamar Jackson get flack, but the flat out hating of Allen has been absolutely ridiculous lately and it’s everywhere, I’m not really bothered by it, I’m just wondering where it’s all coming from? Ignorance and sheep mentality? Whether he sniffs a SB in his life time or not, he’s going to be a HOFer on pure numbers alone.

I’ve watched every one of his games as most of us have and he’s clearly not the problem. The turnover stat is so overblown and is on par w/ most of the top QBs in the league. 78 picks to Mahomes 63 over 6 years. That’s 2.5 more interceptions per season than Mahomes if you average it out. Not really that much in a 17 game span and most of them don’t usually affect the outcome of the game as the Bills have one of the best regular season records in the NFL since Allen was drafted.

What if it turns out that McGovern actually makes a great Center? What if he was sitting there waiting for Morse to retire? Do we know that he isn’t?

Exactly. I hope they role with McGovern. He really impressed me last season

So glad they have Tua cause Mosert/Achane is a helluva RB combo

Good for him. Guy is the biggest threat not named Tyreek Hill and always seems to gash our defense. Pretty impressive he’s still going strong at his age. Achane is also a monster. Too bad they have Tua

Wow. Good player. I wanted the Bills to consider him a couple of years ago. I am actually getting a little concerned about the Jets. Yeah, I know, they're the Jets, but they are undoubtedly amassing talent and if Rogers is healthy, he'll likely be an upper echelon QB still because of his incredible arm and on-field intelligence.

Yeah yeah. We heard the same story last year. Rodgers is finished.

‘Ideally’ he wouldn’t have started but he did start his first season with one of the worst supporting casts I’ve ever seen a rookie qb have lol I’m struggling to see how things could’ve been any worse it was the ultimate trial by fire 😂. Wr1 was kelvin benjamin who was terrible and cut midseason

the situation mahomes stepped into was farrrrrr better and I don’t think it’s even remotely debatable.  I think josh made Daboll a household name much more than the reverse and Daboll’s time with the giants will likely prove that

Well, that’s just like your opinion man

That's just wrong, Reid did not choke worse in Philly than McDermott has. 4 straight NFCC games and a SB appearance with D McNabb says otherwise.

Saying McDermott choked worse than Reid did in Philly is HIGHLY debatable. McNabb was a very good QB, I’m not sure where the narrative came from that says otherwise. Reid also had Terrell Owens, Brian Dawkins, Brian Westbrook, Jason Peters, Lesean McCoy, Troy Vincent, Trent Cole, Lito Sheppard, and Jon Runyan as well. Plenty of HOF talent there w/ a slew of solid starters and still didn’t get the job done. Other than Josh Allen & Diggs (during the non-TO years) his overall talent was superior than anything McD has had in Buffalo so far. I am not letting him off the hook by any means, but that statement is total crap. Any serious NFL in the 2000s knows what I am talking about.

This has been discussed to the extreme here… Josh is winning at least one MVP and multiple Lombardi’s.

The other coin? Who knows. Pat would have walked into a sh-t scenario like Josh did. Maybe he makes it? Maybe he doesn’t. The sure thing is, again, the Chiefs and Josh being the success they have been.

Reality is our guy is just as valuable and dominant as Pat without the accolades.

Josh did not walk into a “sh-t scenario.” He was developed perfectly by Daboll. Ideally, he wouldn’t have started year 1, but by his 2nd he had serviceable skill positions along w/ a pretty good defense. Things could’ve been a million times worse. I thought the coaching staff did wonderful and obviously other teams did as well considering how quickly Daboll & Schoen were snatched up.

I don't agree with the bold part--I think the preferential treatment is explicit and obvious--but I agree that the league has done a good job of threading the needle, both legally and from a PR standpoint.

Teams who draft white corner backs should receive a free 1st round compensation pick. Change my mind

One of the biggest mysteries to last season was Diggs lack of production in the back half of last season.  His production must return in 2024 given his presence, role and cap hit.

This is not intended as a bash Diggs thread. Rather, what do you think happened nad how does it play into Buffalo’s draft?

I chose “other” in drop off in production category. It’s a combination. I think Diggs lost a bit of a step simply because of age and is no longer a top 5 player at his position. I still think he is in the upper echelon of receivers though. He might of lost a bit of speed, but his route running is superb and that is usually the last skill set to go (ask Jerry Rice and Larry Fitz.) I think his injuries were more significant than most think. He literally fell off a cliff in the 2nd half of the season, but his strong 1st half still allowed him to put up almost 1200 yards and 8 Touchdowns. I still think he needs more help to be as effective as possible. WR absolutely needs to be picked in the 1st or at least a trade up in the mid-2nd.

    19 minutes ago, FireChans said:

Are you arguing that Diggs doesn’t disappear in the playoffs? Or just trying to be inane for no reason?

Because Diggs is usually being mugged and doubled in the playoffs. It is up to other guys to take advantage of that.

Anyone here collect? If so, what are some of your most prized Bills related items?

I mostly have some signed mini helmets and photos, but I do have an OJ Simpson rookie card, Kelly & Tasker rookies.  Have some mini helmets and photos signed by a number of the 90s Bills.  Not much of a jersey guy.

May need to add something from Josh Allen to the collection.

    Go Bills!

I have a Billdo signed by Tom Brady xoxo 💋

I’ll send my cash app if anybody is interested

  15. I can’t believe more people aren’t excited about James Cook. He doubled his rushing AND receiving output from the year before. He’s not much of a touchdown hawk, but with Josh Allen in the red zone has he really even had the chance? I am hoping he can continue to improve as a receiver and become a more complete back. Personally, I am excited to see what he does in his 3rd year. Henry is a HOFer, no question and I wouldn’t be unhappy to have him. I just think too many cooks spoils the kitchen and we already have our Cook. So let him cook…okay I’m done

Curious to hear your thoughts on this upcoming season for Elam and expectations.

    Do you think he's starting?

    Is he traded?

Or is he CB3 behind Douglas and Benford?

I think he sucks. He can make splash plays due to his speed & athleticism, but he is way too inconsistent in coverage. Good depth player. He was not worth the 1st pick though. I think Buffalo will take a flyer on a CB with the extra 5th rounder.
