Another thing to take into account is the injuries. It’s an easy excuse, but the Bills injury bug is one of unluckiest things I’ve seen in football. Core players at the most important positions dropping like flies. Prior to Hairston going down, the CB room actually looked very promising. Hairston/Benford were solid 1/2 punch w/ experienced vets Tre White/Levi Wallace backing up the outside corners + all pro Taron Johnson manning his usual Nickel spot. Buffalo is absolutely decimated at corner Edit: want to add Dorian Strong to that list as well

welp, the good guy doesn’t always win in the end. Hate to say it but imagine how good the Bills would be with scumbag Tyreek Hill torching the top of defenses and opening up the middle for Kincaid/Shakir. I wouldn’t want him on the team I am just proving a point. If someone great like Pickens is available for as little as a 3rd round pick idc if he’s got a little bit of a diva mentality. Take a chance. Figure out a contract that gives them an out. I’m not going to do Beanes job.

The Athletic - some grim stats (new Tim Graham piece)

You’re using the Raiders as the litmus test for a good offense ? 😆Child, please. Allen & Cook would drop 40 on them like it’s just another day at the office. Geno Smith is also the type of average QB that McDermott has made millions feasting on for his entire career. The Raiders to the Chiefs are as the Dolphins are to the Bills. 2x yearly free win tokens. -
Stefon Diggs had these same concerns coming out of Minnesota and that didn’t stop the Bills. They still got a solid 4 years production. I feel like Beane thinks he’s gamed the WR system or something because of Josh’s past couple seasons. Sooner or later you need to replenish the talent pool and he’s failed to do that. Even letting critical role players like Hollins slip away to the best division rival. Usually I am all about letting the football guys make the big decisions, but we are seeing even the most obvious things completely unaddressed. Keon Coleman ? Josh Palmer ? These are the boundary receivers you give your MVP QB? At this point, I’d rather put every single dollar into the offensive side of the ball and just try to blow teams out of the water every single week. Hope I can find a few diamonds in the rough on draft day on defense to keep opponents honest. Our late round defenders have been better than our day 1 picks. Sinking all of the money/resources into a defense that’s going to stink regardless and hoping Allen/Cook/Kincaid can carry an entire team is a ticking time bomb. Better to lure top WR talent here w/ money and a top QB. Imagine having Pickens, Davante Adam’s, and/or Cooper Kupp. All WRs who changes one or more teams over the past 2 years that could’ve been had. And all of these teams have a winning record.

Watching Pickens balling out and making big boy downfield one handed grabs makes me sick. Seeing him go to the Cowboys for a 3rd rounder and conditional 6th hurts me deep in my soul. I would’ve gave that Keon Coleman pick in a heartbeat for Pickens. There was WR talent to be had in the offseason and he flubbed it per usual.

It would just be an awesome consolation prize if one of those teams won. (Former) -

Absolutely pitiful drive. 45 seconds and 3 time outs and you run the clock out ? What a joke. Of course the fans are booing. -

Yeah. The Patriots stock is rising faster than any team I’ve seen in recent memory. All the sudden they’re good -

This is my first Titans game I’ve watched live and I’m impressed with Cam Ward. From what I’ve heard he’s sucked. -

lol Trevor Lawrence is 🔥 🗑️ Wow extremely surprised they don’t go for the kill before the half. Makes no sense. 3 touchdown lead is not guaranteed in the NFL. -

Isn’t it so FRUSTRATING when teams get cute in the red zone and call reverses ? The Jags were moving the ball just fine. Then they get stupid for no reason and now they’re 3rd and long -

You think Josh Allen will have a losing record from here on out ? Do you not realize the Bills have a yearly slump at almost exactly this time ? I read your post and this is what I disagree with. 1) I love Joe Flacco, he always gets overlooked by his teams. Once the initial Flacco magic runs out and age catches up, Cincinnati fans will be running him out of town with pitchforks. Bills beat them handily. If they played them this week then I think they crush us. I have faith the coaching staff will have something figured out come December. 2) I got laughed off this board when I said the AFC better be prepared for a Rodgers-led Steelers team. They are the most impressive team to me so far, but there are still very valid concerns for fans. 4 out of 6 of their wins have all been by less than a score, Rodgers is old, and so is their general roster. Regardless, I think Allen goes into Pittsburgh and puts Rodgers back in his place on the QB hierarchy. 3) Chiefs at home is most certainly a win. If I was superstitious, then I would sacrifice the regular season win against them for the playoff one, but I’m not. KC has more problems on offense than we do. At least the Bills have Cook and Kincaid/Knox/Hawes. Chiefs have an aging Kelce/Mediocre JuJu/Hollywood Brown their best option IMO. In order to win, the Bills need to figure out how to beat Kansas City’s world class defense. Come playoff time they turn into the 85 Bears. Chris Jones’ retirement will be on the level of Tom Brady for Bills fan. The rest of the losses I agree with you for the most part. I do think the Bills have potential to upset the Eagles and even split with the Patriots but I wanna remain realistic as possible. I think we’ll see a pretty similar end result to the season as all of the other previous McDermott years. Best case = Bills finish 12-5 narrowly winning their division. Worst case = Patriots beats the Bills in New England. Buffalo drops 3 of their last 5 and finishes at the #6 seed Wildcard. Silver lining is once rhe Bills are in the dance, they have just as good of a shot as any especially if our guys are playing to their ultimate potential. -

Exactly. It only confirms what we’ve seen and maybe haven’t been able to articulate, but the Bills have been failing the eye test. The good news is the only way they can go is up especially concerning their WRs, pass pro, and pitiful pass coverage. The thing I want to see the most is the response from the coaches. They have a solid 2 weeks to right this ship. A good coach will scheme up a failing area of the team. Brady, Babich, and McDermott have their work cut out for them, but even they have to start feeling the heat. -

This is all horrible stuff. The most you can hope for is this team gets a fire lit under them. Those pass protection stats are pitiful. And it’s not just on them. Allen has not been up to par either. He’s regressing in his 8th year. -

No, you’re right. It’s a BORING offense. Even the announcers have been bringing it up during games. That kind of stuff works with Tom Brady and a cast of carefully selected short white WRs and steroid abusing homicidal Tight ends. Not so much what a high-octane Josh Allen offense SHOULD be which is big chunk throws/runs and a complementary running game. I get that they don’t have the cast, but WHOS fault is that, Beane ? Edit: kind of bummed that Daboll is turning it around in Jersey. There was the offhand chance that maybe he would come back here. I was never a Daboll hater either. I follow the Giants closely because of him.
