  1. This has been an ongoing question for years. Mostly started in baseball, but migrated to all other sports. I understand the baseball part, but football penalties are way too open for interpretation. It will never happen as much as most people want it to. And NGL, I like when officials let the games become more physical. Just as long as both teams get equal treatment. Holding happens nearly every play (defensive and offense.) It will result in a flag fest every game. I hate when refs let that stuff slide the entire game and then decide to throw a holding flag during the most crucial drive. Pre-snap penalties, RTP, and FGs should all go to the “eye in the sky” for analysis IMO.
  2. Dilfer didn’t have the physical ability to make those throws even if he wanted to. Flacco had an absolute Howitzer attached to his right shoulder
  3. Yes. Every time we play the Chiefs, officiating should be a serious concern. If I knew for a fact the game was going to be called fairly, I give Buffalo about a 75% chance of winning. Since it probably won’t be bc it’s the Chiefs on the road, I’m going with a 50/50 chance. To the people saying “don’t let the game get close enough for the referees to decide,” that’s going to be a tall task. The officials have the ability to extend a Chiefs 3rd and 20 to a 1st down with a little BS 5 yard defensive holding call. Also, it won’t be the amount of penalties which I’m sure their fans will point out. It will be the time & circumstances in which the flag is thrown. How many times have we seen ticky tack flags thrown to extend stalled out Chiefs drives that directly resulted in points ? I saw 2 alone against the Texans. This is a serious, serious concern. Buffalo might have to convert a ton of 3rd & longs on offense along w/ causing multiple 3 & outs on the same drive w/ their defense. It’s going to be the Buffalo Bills vs the Chiefs, the refs, and the home crowd. It’s a tall task. The only good thing is the NFLs entire fan base knows this so maybe the refs won’t be as inclined to throw BS flags. Their integrity is already being questioned enough along w/ the gambling.
  4. Lamar Jackson playoff numbers: 8 games, 1753 yards passing, 10 TDs, 7 picks, 641 yards rushing, 3 rushing TDs, sacked 29 times, 7 fumbles, 84.6 QB rating Josh Allen playoff numbers: 12 games, 3122 yards passing, 23 TDs, 4 picks, 629 yards rushing, 7 rushing TDs, 1 Rec TD, sacked 26 times, 9 fumbles, 101.5 QB rating Sorry, but it’s not even close. You can’t make that same argument against Josh who has had MUCH lesser talent to work with and is not directly responsible for every postseason defeat like your boy Lamar. It’s apples & oranges. As far as I’m concerned, these 2 aren’t even in the same stratosphere. Allen doesn’t need a system built around him to succeed. He made it all the way to the AFC championship in 2020 w/ Devin Singletary. Lamar has been gifted a top 10 RB of all time who was 80 yards short of a 2k season and MVP candidate in his own right. And I am NOT saying Lamar is a bad QB. Don’t get it twisted. He’s the most dynamic athlete I’ve ever seen play QB. But making any argument putting him on the level of Allen is just insulting. He’s just not even CLOSE as a pure passer. Take away Allen’s running and I think he would still be a top 5 guy.
  5. Wow, did you even watch the 2011-2012 season or are you going off of selective memory? Flacco had the greatest playoff run I’ve ever seen. 1140 yards 11 TDs 0 picks. Then he capped it all off with the SB MVP which proves your bolded statement to be absolutely false.
  6. Dude, Harbaugh won ONE title with a completely different QB and a defense led by Ray Lewis freaking 13 years ago. He hasn’t reached one since. If he can’t do it with an MVP QB, 2 top flight TEs, top 5 defense, and first ballot HOFer Derrick Henry then he never will. This was their year. Unfortunately, the AFC is just too stacked. In the future If he somehow makes it past Allen, he’ll have Mahomes to contend with, and/or Burrow. Had a top defense, a damn near 2000 yard rusher, plus Lamar’s best season he’ll ever achieve and only had one playoff win to show for it. His game plan against Buffalo was trash. They abandoned the run way too early, but that’s all too familiar for Ravens fans. He panicks too soon and strays away from what his team does best which is run. Everyone wants to kiss the Raven’s ass because Lamar smiled and hugged Josh. Sorry, but I’m entitled to my opinion and Lamar Jackson has always been overrated. I’ve stuck to my guns regarding that pretty much since I joined this board. He’s not even the best QB in his division. Who exactly has he beat in the playoffs worth any note ? The corpse of Russell Wilson, Ryan Tannehill, and rookie CJ Stroud. He’s 0-3 against Allen & Mahomes. 1-1 against Ryan Tannehill. He turned the ball over twice after having 8 the entire season. That proves right there he isn’t clutch. If Andrews didn’t drop that catch, the Bills would’ve won anyways, and the focus would be on Lamar’s turnovers.
  7. One of those most lopsided player for player trades of all time. Hughes was behind Mathis and Freeney and was a first rounder.
  8. Lamar will never win a SB. Not with Harbaugh coaching. Ravens turn into paper tigers come playoff time.
  9. He ruined his legacy. He would’ve been a celebrity in Western NY until the end of time. The Minnesota Miracle was awesome, but more of the CB making a huge gaff other than some insane catch. He really didn’t pick it up production-wise until he came here. Him and Allen were the best QB-WR duo in football, but somehow that wasn’t good enough. It’s one of the weirdest things ever. He was in a PERFECT situation. I don’t get it either, but he will never reach those heights in Houston. I doubt he cracks 1000 yards ever again.
  10. I hope Stefon Diggs is watching his former team dominate.
  11. The human being in me wants Benford to sit. Concussions are obviously no joke. The fan in me wants him on the field
  12. This year will be the start of the Buffalo Bills dynasty. It will be talked about for decades. Josh Allen will solidify himself as a top 5 QB of all time. This is the year he finally put it all together and shed the gunslinger label.
  13. That will never ever ever ever happen. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for all intents and purposes. This team overachieved (in the eyes of the media) and the Bills took down the Ravens juggernaut. A loss to KC would be devastating to the fans, but McDermott is not going anywhere. From an outsiders perspective, he had a solid year as a coach. Let him go and he will signed by another team faster than a rabbit gets ******
  14. You’re mentally preparing yourself for a loss. I understand it, but I’m all in. Another loss to Mahomes will send me over the edge. I’d rather lose a SB than have that happen again.
  15. I’m rooting for Washington all day every day. I know Jayden Daniels had IMO the best rookie season ever (Cam Newton & Big Ben are up there as well) but he’s still a rookie and McD is going to throw some curveballs at him if the 2 teams end up facing off. I know we beat the Ravens, but I don’t like big physical running teams. If we play Philly then I put the Bills at a 60% chance of winning. Washington I think we beat them 9 out of 10 times. Actually, I am glad they beat Detroit for that exact reason.
  16. It’s not about the amount of penalties the Chiefs get. It’s about WHEN they get them which always seems to be on a crucial 3rd down to extend the drive. Like when the Texans played them last week. They stopped them twice and both times they benefited from a RTP call. The first one was terrible, but the 2nd one was even worse. If a QB becomes a runner then all bets should be off, he should get the same treatment as every other ball carrier. He was dancing around like a ballerina and got blasted. That’s his own fault. Back to my point, the Chiefs always get these BS RTP and defensive holding calls. It’s garbage and I fully expect it to happen if Buffalo starts pulling away in the score column.
  17. That’s an impossible task. The 4 SB losses are too imbedded into the sports fans psyche. It’s impossible to not associate one with the other. It will only be cured with a championship. Otherwise, expect to hear it every single time the Bills get deep into the playoffs (playoffs!??!) I think it’s one of the most interesting sports lores in general. Josh Allen the savior of the Buffalo Bills drafted from Wyoming of all places comes & restores glory to a defeated franchise and city. It’s straight out of a movie. WINNING cures everything. Just go and win then the association w/ the 90s teams will stop.
  18. Please do. I’m not emotionally prepared for a loss. It’s going to send me into a spiraling depression and alcoholism most likely. Please win for the sake of my mental health, Sean.
  19. The only gaffs McD made was okaying the shotgun option play instead of putting Josh right behind center and powering it in. Otherwise, he coached an immaculate game. I thought the Ravens game was intense, the AFC Championship is going to take literal years off of my life. I kind of figured Buffalo would lose the last time we went there, but this is the most confident I’ve ever been as a Bills fan. I wasn’t alive during the first ones. For us young (ish) Bills fans, this is it. All the losses, all the heartbreak, and here we are on the brink of glory. It will either be the best moment of my life or the worst. I am not mentally prepared for the latter. All my chips are in for a win.
  20. Thank you. Who gives a crap? As long as they keep winning it really doesn’t matter if he has 0 catches or 15. They’ve ran the ball so well and I hope they continue to do so. They put up 27 points (actually 30 since they were in FG range at the end of the game) where Josh threw for 127 yards and 0 TDs ! That is insane. Look at it like a game of Chess. If you can beat up your opponent without using your queen and putting it at risk then why not? Like you said, when the matchup is there, Brady will exploit it. Cooper will have his number called at some point. We are one game away from the Super Bowl. Take that in for a minute. Buffalo will utilize whatever weapons they have to get to the promise land.
  21. I think Lamar is overrated in the sense that he’s not on the level of the big 3 (Allen, Burrow, Mahomes.) He is right on the fringes though and well worth the money they paid him which was very controversial at the time. I don’t think he will be playing at a high level into his mid-late 30s like the current top guys. He’s just too overly reliant on his athleticism. Allen can run it with the best of them and it certainly opens things up, but he’s more reliant on power than pure speed, and he can do things w his arm that no one else can. His athleticism was a complete afterthought during the draft process. Lamar needs an offense tailored to his skill set whereas Allen will thrive in pretty much any system. I am 100% positive all 32 GMs would take Josh over Lamar
  22. I’ve noticed this too. The Bills usually end up getting the first so not much attention is paid to it, but they seem to routinely get shorted a 1/2 to 1 full yard on a lot of plays. And challenging the spot of the ball seems to never work either.
  23. It’s very strange. It’s like a foregone that the Ravens would’ve took it to OT. Buffalo would’ve played it safe and took time off the clock, but given 3 chances I think Josh would’ve launched a missile to Shakir down the middle to get into the 45 yard range. There’s no reason to think Bass would’ve missed.
