why would Mitchell be off the board?
Just my feeling. Medical concerns and red flag regarding his effort.
Also, if he was on our board, I believe he'd be our pick at 28. Franklin/Coleman/McConkey could be had later thus the trade down.

They traded down for two reasons, I think. 1) Beane wanted to get a 3rd round pick, and 2) Beane had no more 1st round grades on players, which means he didn't care if Worthy, Legette, or Pearsall were on the board. He didn't see the value.
And it sounds like he didn't want to spend the assets to trade up. He said that he had no intention of trading up, and he usually shoots pretty straight. There's no reason to believe he lied about that.
This.
I think it is fair to criticize Beane if you wanted us to draft Worthy, Legette or Pearsall. If not, there is nothing to be mad about. He will get his guy and got additional draft capital in the process.
I wanted Legette but they clearly didn't.

I think there is almost no chance the Bills actually make a selection at #33. Fully plan on seeing Beane trade back once again and pick up an additional pick.
I don't think we trade down.
Patriots are picking right behind us, and they are likely going WR. So anyone willing to trade with us will also likely want to jump them for a WR. That means 2 WRs taken before our pick.
We are taking Franklin / McConkey / Coleman to start Day 2 imo.

The two guys I had first round grades on that were possibly not the consensus - Legette and Morgan - both went in the first round. Pleased for both those guys. They will be studs.
I suppose at this point it is all aboard the AD Mitchell train. I'll be back in the morning with my debrief. Night all.
Like I said, I don't think he is on our board.
It's gonna be Franklin, Coleman or McConkey.

Mitchell is probably the only way to salvage this nightmare of a draft at this point.
I think he is not our board.
I say Franklin/McConkey/Coleman or DeJean.
And than trade up a little bit in 2nd and 3rd to find some other starters.

Wow. I hate that decision from Beane. Worthy isn't my guy necessarily but why are you giving the team you are trying to catch and surpass a guy they really covet in a position where they need help?
If we take Legette at 32 and then safety in 3rd round who wouldn't be available in the 4th I can live with that...

It is getting pretty clear that unless we have huge gap between WRs trading up doesn't make any sesne.

That's the danger.
He's just got to read the river right.
Yeah it is a danger, but it only matters if they take our guy. And nobody knows who that is.

I really hope that Beane is more patient than TBD members lol.
Not every team needs a WR

So Vikings already don't have 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks next year?
That is an interesting strategy for an average team at best...

Beane stay patient please

I’ll guess we jump Miami for Worthy
I just hope that Beane knows better.

Not a single defensive player in top 10.
Wow

We never had a chance.

Whatever we do, I'll support it.
Odunze, Legette, Thomas, McConkey, Worthy, Coleman, Franklin, trade up, trade down, stay put, whatever, just make the right choice Beane.
Go Bills.

NFLN...... now when does the draft thread unlock? And can you remind people not to tip picks in there? Thank you please.
Agreed. @Simon isn't it time to unlock it?

Curious - if you had to chose between Legette and McConkey at 28 -- who do you take?
Personally I take McConkey (but I really like Legette too). My thinking is -- McConkey is may be the best separator in the draft. If a receiver can separate Josh will find him (as he found Beasly). After Harrison and Odumze, other than Legette, there are not big-bodied X's I truly love. I like Thomas, but I assume he is gone (and he is not really a size match-up problem). I don't trust Mitchell or Franklin, do not like Coleman or Walker. I would take McConkey and be sure to get Brendan Rice later. While he has some limitations, all scouting reports seem to say that the 6'4" Rice has elite acceleration and can really take the top off. Having an X that can do that would be great. Shakir and McConkey can be really strong mixed through as the Z and slot. Both of them can get deep as well.
Personally, I would take McConkey, Defense at 60, move up from 128 to get Rice and spend the rest of my picks on defense (save maybe an IOL and very late RB (like pick 248)).
Thoughts?
Why didn't you make a poll? It's easy, I think you can still add it.

You guys know that your TV's have nothing to do with the Bills picks, right?

Yes. I think the Ravens, Lions, 49ers and KC are all possible OL teams. Especially it has started to thin out there....
Would be cool esp. if Bills are really targeting Legette or Franklin (I know you don't want him in the first but maybe the Bills do). Maybe to do 2 small trade down to make sure you don't fall too much and land a guy you want.
Fwiw, in our mock 49ers traded up with Eagles to get Mims, while the Chiefs were trying to do the same.
-
Gunner, sort of random thought, but do you see any reasonable chance that either Ravens would want to jump the Lions or that 49ers would want to jump Ravens/Lions?
We just had local community moct draft with me as Bills GM and I managed to trade down with Ravens - picks 28 and 200 for 30 and 113. I risked almost nothing and got Legette. Ravens did it for Barton IIRC. I really liked it for Bills, pick 113 is a nice extra asset to move up in the 2nd.
Do you find this realistic in real life?

The next two edge players picked in his mock after The Bills pick at 60
67 Commanders Adisa Isaac Edge Penn State
75 Bears Chris Braswell Edge Alabama
FWIW he has the ravens doing this at 62
62 Ravens Xavier Legette WR South Carolina
Wait, so Legette is there at 60?
Then just pick him and call it a day. Thomas and Legette? Are you serious?
If both pan out, we are unstoppable for next 4 years and then we pay one and get comp pick for the other. If one pans out it's still great.

wow, only one WR in the first! your right, tons of D.
It's actually 2 WRs but the point remains.

I honestly don't know how to vote. I am completely fine with trading down, I don't care it was with the Chiefs, I don't care they took Worthy.
My only problem is that I'd have taken Legette at 28.
