  1. Has nothing to do with ability. Rangel is trying to get it that you can't even apply if you're white. Whether you are capable or not. So basically it is a jobs program for only about 30% of the US.
  2. Only African Americans according to Rangel.
  3. Doesn't matter who. Just a Cb from Ohio State. Anyone will do.
  4. All we need is a CB from Ohio State.
  5. Any form of discrimination is wrong, regardless of the direction. But I still say you either are sheltered or choose to ignore it when it happens, because there certainly is descrimination that happens in every direction. It maybe subtle or it maybe "hostile" as you put it. But for you to think you've never experienced it is pretty ignorant. You may not have realized it but I'm betting you have. You go to China town up there in Boston? you think the Chinese couple doesn't get a little bigger portion, a little bit better service, a free drink etc... ? Sure they do. When you don't get exactly the same service it is descrimination. You may choose to ignore or think it's not a big deal, but it certainly is descrimination.
  6. Unemployment is getting worse and the democrats are only worried about packing the economic recovery plan with earmarks and entitlements to the individuals and corporations that helped get them elected. The middle class be damned.
  7. Really? Go to certain parts of DC sometimes. If fact large portions of DC are very much like this. Go to certain parts of LA sometime. There are certain areas where if you aren't Latino they very much descriminate against you, and I was there in the early 80's. Go to Japan sometime. They have signs on restaurants and bars that say no to anyone if they aren't Japanese. All kind of descrimination happens in this country and around the world every day. You either lead a very sheltered life, or choosing to ignore it. If the later great, if the earlier, then I'll tell you some places to go in DC and let's see what kind of service, if any you'd get. You will certainly notice the quality and friendlyness of service you'd get at these joints.
  8. Why not. got to pay for that trillion dollar stimulus plan somehow. if we tax the poor people they won't be able to eat that fatty Mcdonalds food, that will cause bad health and even more cause for government funded universal healthcare.
  9. I have no clue what you're talking about?
  10. And if they'd been classified as POW's, unless you can prove war crimes then pretty much they are held until the end of conflict and released with no punishment. That wasn't happening, no matter what anyone says publically.
  11. Either that or the Arab world was emboldened by the Act of terrorism, regardless of what their governments said publically. In addition since countries like France have a huge Arab population (25%) no amount of good will was going to over come their hatred for the western world.
  12. The Geneva Convention is in effect a treaty and only applicable to the countries that sign and abide by it, first off. Secondly the "foreign agents" are classified as such because in reality because they are illegally fighting in a foreign land they have no status under the convention. Therefore, the rules do not apply to them nor to the the capturing country (US). Therefore the presidence has been set since Civil War times on how the US has dealt with foreign fighters and enemy agents.
  13. Just make sure the hero from the hudson isn't flying.
  14. Yes there was an offically declared war. That is a fact. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c107:H.J.RES.114.ENR: Two even if there wasn't you are missing the entire point. there are no Iraqi fighters who were captured in Iraq (unless they were caught sneaking in from Iran, which means they also are no longer classified POW). The only folks in gitmo are Eqyptian, suadis, yemeni, etc... who were captured fighting the USA in a foreign country not their own. This is not a US defined term of what a foreign agent is this is defined by the UN and the Geneiva Convention. These folks should have been tried in a military tribunal on the battlefield by the capturing unit. The should have been interrogated, tortured and shot as that is the only punishment permissable for that act. War or not is irrelevant. Now let me edit this and say, Gitmo should never have happened, but now that it has, I do not know the legal ramifications. I think the "best" thing would be to send them back to the point of capture and have the capturing unit run the military tribunal like they should have all along, find them guilty and shoot them.
  15. None the only people in Gitmo are people who are foreign to the land they were captured in. if they were afghan farmers forced into fighting by taliban and they are captured in afghanistan they would be POW's and put in a POW camp or handed over to the afghan government for trial. These were non-afghan or non-iraqi caught in one of those places. Or someone who was captured elsewhere (maybe a foreign US military base) trying to harm US interests. These are not POWs.
  16. And the real problem is what we allow the media to call these guys. These are people who have been fighting or involved in espionage, to harm the USA, who were caught in a land not of their own. The guys are what is simply called foreign agensts or spies. The book is pretty clear on what should have happened. They should have been questioned, tortured, and put to death where they were found. But the USA decided to be humane and bring them back here and have tribunals. The tribunal should have happened in the field with the unit capturing them. If they were found guilty the only sentence is death. If inncocent returned to their host country and warned not to return. Again, the last adminsitration tried to give these agents too much ability to defend themselves. I hope we now go back to what we are allowed to do by all conventions of war.
  17. Aren't Alaskans just wanna be Canadians?
  18. Yeah what the hell have these guys done for their country lately. Heck all these guys that have the MOH are from Vietnam, Korea and maybe a couple from WWII. We all know that the Messiah was against every war, so why should he go honor these guys who only kept alive war criminals who were wrongly fighting. Good for the Messiah to not pay honor to probably the biggest bunch of war criminals ever. </sarcasm>
  19. I like that, can I use it?
  20. You ignored my original arguments. How are you going to implant them with these magic beans without them knowing? And what do you say to the media when they find out? And they will find out because they always find out. I know you'll magically say that Bush ordered it and forgot to tell the Messiah. Therefore since there wasn't an order to countermand it went forward.
  21. That's not what was inserted into your dog. The thing in your dog is scanned and about the size of a piece of rice. This thing is 2 and a half inches long. Someone will know it's there. And again, it would be removed first chance I had if I was a bad guy. It is also induction powered which means there is a proximity power supply. Neither of which can be "easily installed" and undetectable.
  22. omlettes I actually like it with pizza
  23. stop watching TV. I figured he was taking this from the movie Red Dawn where the kid swallows the tracking device and the ruskies followed him back to base camp.
  24. You have a GPS chip in your dog that you can track with satellites? Or do you have one of those microchips that has to be hand scanned by the shelter when they find him? And even if the technology exists, do you not think they won't know they were implanted and would have it removed the instant they left?
