  1. My thought as well. He's a solid OT, and having depth there would be a huge plus. Obviously that's what everyone wants, and its been discussed ad nauseam, but I think Glenn is a better option than any of the players currently scheduled for FA at OT (I like Massie and James, but I think Glenn is a little better).
  2. I haven't seen anything other than pure speculation, but if they are rebuilding I could certainly see them looking to save the 9MIL+ in cash they'll owe him each of the next two years.
  3. If the Bengals were to cut Glenn (which I believe they can without suffering any cap penalties at this point) would you be interested in bringing him back? I'd be hesitant, but if the contract was reasonable I'd be happy to have him in the fold. Not sure if he could play RT, but I believe Dawkins could move there if necessary and be in the upper echelon of RT's in the league. Just a thought, Go Bills!
  4. I'm at about 80% for Beane. I think he's an intelligent guy, and am excited to see what he does going forward. I like McDermott, but I'm not nearly as confident in him as I am in Beane. I'd say 50%. His decision making in game worries me, and I'll be curious to see what he can do offensively if Daboll ends up leaving. Happy with the team and staff we have, though. Josh is in a fine situation, and I think we'll be ultimately pleased with the team throughout the regime's tenure.
  5. You're a smart guy, John. The special teams units in college aren't near the same speed as they are in the league. I'd say there's about a 0.5% chance Harry plays any ST in the pros (not because his team wants to protect their asset, but because he isn't fast enough). I never said he was slow, simply stated he isn't fast enough to create the separation needed to be successful as an X in today's NFL. I hope I'm wrong, and he has a great career (and learns to go for the ball with his hands instead of cradling it in his chest!)
  6. This is exactly my issue with Harry. He uses his body to catch far too often. Metcalf uses his hands and highpoints the ball, which is impossibly hard to stop in the NFL when the WR doing so is 6'2". Harry might be good, but I think he has a high likelyhood to bust because he's not fast enough to create his own space, and he doesn't use his hands to catch the ball (especially in contested situations). If we can't take Metcalf in the first, I'd be on board with Collin or Anthony Johnson in the 2nd or 3rd (whatever the board dictates). Im avoiding Harry at all costs.
  7. Mizzou grad (13) here. Albert O is raw, but has enormous potential. I'd love to see the Bills grab him, even as early as the 2nd if the board dictates it. He has a good shot at being an excellent NFL TE, but he will take some time. Go Bills, and Tigers!
  8. DK Metcalf is the best WR in this class IMO. Big, fast, strong, and most importantly... he catches with his hands, not his body. Tracks deep balls at an elite level (which is clearly something we should emphasize with our QB) and can make plays after the catch. If he's available when the Bills pick, assuming his combine stats are at least decent, I think he should be the guy. Just one guys opinion though! Go Bills!
  9. Im looking for them to sign at least 1 (if not 2) of Golden Tate, John Brown, Quincy Enunwa, and Tyrell Williams. Would like to see OL help brought in. Ramon Foster, Roger Saffold, Bobby Massie, Mitch Morse. TE: Tyler Kroft and Luke Willson RB: Spencer Ware, Tevin Coleman, Buck Allen DT: someone around Kyle's $ # (assuming he doesn't resign) for a few years DE: Dante Fowler (pipe dream) Certainly all subject to what they want to do in the draft, these are just some players I like who I think would also be positional fits for the Bills (maybe not scheme, I'm not that smart, but positional in the sense that we are or will be weak at these spots next year).
  10. Personally, I'd love to see the Chargers move to St. Louis. Then I would get to see the Bills play in my home town every few years!
  11. Now it looks like we won't get to see Josh play Oh well, we'll just have to drink more to ease the pain of "Petermania"...
  12. My point exactly. The teams that best utilize that quantifiable data in their decision making processes will benefit tremendously over the "Old Guard" coaches and teams. Lets just hope we're in the former category, and not the latter.
  13. McVay is using the advanced statistics to his advantage, no doubt about it. Won't be too long before the NFL starts resembling the MLB in its use of sabermetrics.
  14. Maybe I'll post that story some other time. Its nothing crazy and exciting, moreso just random and pointless. Im #mafia all day for good now! Hopefully Brandon was the Bills Fisher, and they just took care of the firing in the off season as opposed to mid season
  15. Glad you took the time to read. There were so many parallels to what we're going through right now that I felt I needed to share my thoughts. Future success is certainly not a guarantee, but the Rams progress, specifically Goff's, shows that its not outside the realm of possibility for the Bills and Allen to take a step forward next year.
  16. Hey guys. I'm from St. Louis, so I've followed the Rams since I was a kid (became a Bills fan in 09, long story ) Anyway, I wanted to try and point out the obvious parallels between our Bills this year, and the Rams of 2016. Both teams had a rookie QB who they seemingly preferred to sit for a while. Both were thrust into the game earlier than expected (Allen even earlier than Goff, but Goff started sooner than they wanted him to nonetheless). Both teams had a top tier RB (Shady on the tail end of his career, and an unproven Gurley coming off a promising rookie campaign for the Rams) Both teams had poor to quite poor WR's (Bills: KB, Zay, Holmes, RayRay, Foster, Rams: Austin, Britt, Cooper, McRoberts, Quick, Thomas). Those Rams WR's are worse than what we have IMO. Not to mention the Rams putrid OL play that year (Some young guys like Jamon Brown and Havenstein have turned into quality players, but they were starting Greg Robinson at LT LMFAO) Goff finished the year losing all 7 of his starts, completed 54% of his passes, with a 5:7 TD:INT ratio. Allen, after 4 starts, is 2-2, with a 53% passing clip and a 2:5 TD:INT ratio. Now, this is where the comparison gets more complicated. Following Goff's rookie year, the Rams hired Sean McVay. This one change has proven to be extremely valuable to both the Rams and to Goff. His numbers have skyrocketed, and he's currently a top 7 QB in the league IMO. The complicated part here is determining where to lay the praise for his turn around. Is it all Mcvay's doing? Can you attribute it to Goff's experience and trials faced in his rookie campaign? Is it both? I'll let you guys decide that. One thing I think we can all agree on is the thought that the Bills will try to add some receiving help both through FA and the draft this coming season. And thats exactly what the Rams did entering 2017, drafting TE Gerald Everett, WR Cooper Kupp, and WR Josh Reynolds as well as signing FA Robert Woods. They also traded for WR Sammy Watkins, as Im sure most of you know The point of this thread is to point out to all of the doomsday truthers around here that year one success, or lack thereof, does not always correlate to the same level of success in the future. If the Bills can draft some solid pass catchers, as well as make some impact FA signings (Quincy Enunwa PLEASE LORD), this ship can turn around. The one thing we don't have that the Rams did was an offensive mind like Mcvay. If we can get even remotely close to that, however, then I believe we will have a strong shot at being a much improved offense next year, and we'll see Allen really perform to the level he's shown in small flashes this season. Im going to Indy in two weeks for the game. Will be tailgating in the Norwood lot with a Bills canopy. If anyone will be making the trip, stop by and say hello. Go BILLS!
  17. LOL, those numbers are solid compared to this guy... 78 career pass attempts, after next year he will have made $34,304,317. Thats $439,789 PER ATTEMPT.... Congrats to CHASE DANIEL on an absolutely stellar career (From an earnings perspective)
  18. Friends and I (from St. Louis) will be travelling to Indy for the Bills-Colts tilt. Look for our Bills canopy in the "Norwood" lot and stop by to say hello. Go Bills! Tom
  19. I think I'd take a look at Spencer Ware. Assuming we draft a rb somewhere between rounds 2-5 next year, Ware would provide a solid vet option so our rookie doesn't get overexposed.
  20. Thanks for the reply, Pete. I like your assessment, and tend to agree with Bosa/Oliver considering DE is about to be a need for us most likely. I think you've got our needs pretty much dead on, in no particular order. I'm sure the fans would love to see those skill positions addressed early in the draft, but I'd be happy addressing the line with our 1st and 2nd pick if the right players are there at the right spots. We'll see!
  21. What kind of drugs are you on, and where can the rest of us get some? Just joking with you. But, you don't seriously think the team would give up on Josh after one season, regardless of how he plays, do you?
  22. How are people having such a hard time understanding this?! :D Im not saying Beane should make a stupid trade, why would anyone every insinuate that that's something they'd like to see the GM do? Isn't it obvious that you only make a move if you consider it a good move?? IF we're in a top 10 position, IF there is a QB available, and IF a team is willing to do a deal, is that something you'd like to see the Bills do? Or would you rather take a player? Thanks for not making me spell out all of the factors that play into a move like this, I thought more people would understand the point I was trying to make. In addition, I completely agree with your assessment. We can get a top rated lineman in the late 1st, and address the RB position with the additional 2, as well as another position of need (WR, TE, OL, DL, CB) with our own 2 or vice versa.
  23. Obviously our moves in FA would influence the direction we take in the draft, my question was posed in a more general sense. Do we take the best player we can get (that fits a need and fits the draft position) within the top 10, or do we try to turn that pick into more picks and trust our team to make smart decisions in the later part of the 1st round. If we're mid to late 1st round, I think we take the BPA at WR, OL, DE, CB, TE, RB.
